I was in town for a business trip and saw the great reviews for Meso Mayo. The restaurant and bar were hopping for a Tuesday night. Love the salsa and the flank steak. Great service. I'd love to eat here again.

This is NOT Tex-Mex food!!! It is authentic interior Mexican food which is a huge improvement. The salsa is spectacular. The meals are matched with a variety of side dishes, typically vegetables, instead of the standard rice and refried beans. We were wowed by the food. The margaritas were, on the other hand, just so-so and a little on the weak side. My pork chop was large, beautifully cooked to pink and well seasoned. Our biggest challenge was deciding what to order - so many temptations. The inside is sort of noisy but the courtyard is very nice and has a more Mexican feel to it. I would opt for the courtyard every time.

This restaurant is at a walking distance from '' The Perot Museum ''. My only disappointment was that my Pina Colada had ice cubes in it instead of crushed ice. I ordered the Salmon con Coco and due to my dietary restrictions, I asked the waiter for no cheese on my serving which was obliged upon. The salmon was cooked really well and the rice was delicious. My husband ordered Steak Oaxaca but he complained that it wasn't on point like the first time he tried it ;he was happy with the tamal on the side though. We skipped dessert because there is no 'milk free' options, this won't deter us from coming back though.

Very good food, attentive service, nice atmosphere, close to HOB and AAC. A bit pricy but worth the splurge.

This is a great place to eat if you are in downtown Dallas. It is walking distance from AA Center. The menu has some dishes you don't find at most Tex-Mex restaurants. I had Del Mar enchiladas, and my husband had chicken mole enchiladas. We shared them and both were very good, although the Del Mar could have used more seafood filling. The margaritas are also good, as is the guacamole.

We recently ate at Meso Maya for the first time and oh my... so amazing! Brought me back to Mexico. The chips, salsa, guacamole, queso with brisket and the most delicious steak tacos ever!! You can see the freshness & quality and the taste is homemade like you were eating it at home. I loved everything we had. Even the top shelf margarita & La Flaca margarita. You have to eat here at least once if you're in Dallas. I promise you'll be back!

Very solid Mexican food and drink. We sat outside, can be a bit noisy inside. Manager on duty very helpful and checked on the meal.

We walked here from the Farimont during a conference. We had a larger group, and the host staff tried to accommodate our needs to the best of their abilities. Everyone in our party (most out of towners) remarked that they were VERY happy with the cuisine and the service. It is a bit loud in this restaurant at times, but nothing so loud that you can't enjoy your dinner. Just consider it "lively!" Tex Mex - done right!

Let's start this review off by stating THIS IS NOT TEXMEX! Meso Maya uses outstanding ingredients to create Southern Mexican food. There was nothing ordered that wasn't superb. We had a large party and everyone was raving (not with glow sticks). Also, the portions are LARGE so come hungry!

Had heard many good things, and since it is right around the corner, it seemed like the perfect place to go after picking up my friends from the airport. It was very disappointing. The service was very spotty. At one point a waitstaff hit my friends arm and she didn't even stop to apologize. It took so long to get our meal that we finally went up to the from and complained. All of this might have been forgiven if the food had been great, but it wasn't. With so many Tex-Mex places in Dallas you have to be really good to impress and Meso Maya didn't cut it.

Meso Maya makes good food. The service is excellent. Everyone from waitstaff to management is concerned with having a good and well fed experience. Don't let the prices stop you, the food, service, and atmosphere are all up to the asking price.

I love this place! The food was best I've ever had. They were pretty busy so service was a little slow. I cannot wait to eat here again!

Sunday afternoon. Two adults. Seated quickly. Service reasonably prompt. Received the explanation that they serve authentic Mexican food, not TexMex... so ok, but the menu looks a lot like TexMex to me. Chips are good, as is sauce. Order of queso was ok, not very well seasoned and not very warm... which is not a good thing for queso. Ordered chicken enchiladas and brisket tacos -- might have been good, but were barely lukewarm by the time they got to our table... we were hungry and wanted to leave before the rain came down so we didn't make a scene about it...The enchilada sauce had a very different flavor, in a good way -- more smokey/dark/brown sugary. Black beans and rice were fine - nothing special... Tab for 2 w/ queso was $36 with no drinks. Fenix is next door and I'm sure that is 'TexMex" -- but in general prefer its food.

We were almost put off by the wait, but it was well worth it. My husband had "the best chili relleno he's ever had in his life." Nice atmosphere, a little noisy but the lunch crowd cleared out by 2:00.
