We went for an anniversary dinner. Unfortunately we chose the chef's choice dinner, $150 each. It was 3.5 hours and we left before it was finished. So exhausting! Tiny bits of food over and over. Is a 1"tostada with a piece of avocado and a bit of sauce a course? It was 11 courses. I told them I was diabetic and no sugar but they served us 4 chocolate courses! We both left hungry and went home and snacked after paying over $500 for 2 people with a bottle of wine. Interesting light fixture that is like a flower. Lots of bling but no substance! Huge rip off and we are big foodies!

Stephen Pyles really has created quite the food experience. The dishes are incredibly unique, and the flavors blend perfectly. The service was just as amazing as the food. This is one that you have so many selections, and everything is amazing that you want to go back and experience everything on the menu!

Unlike the Mayor and most of those who would govern us, I am a native Dallasite. Most of the time, I am proud of the City and those who represent the best of who we are and what we can do. Routh Street Cafe was a watershed event for Dallas bringing exceptional food to this City of steakhouses and barbeque. Stephen Pyles' Flora Street Cafe is a moving of the high end food presentation bar for this Dallas food pioneer once again. He's showing all the new young phenoms the old timer still has it. The atmosphere, presentation, selection, food and service were exceptional on several recent visits. Interesting wine list and well crafted cocktails. Clearly every single detail in the restaurant had been well thought out and considered. World Class experience. Well done Sir - it was outstanding. Worth the risk of closing two successful restaurants and opening this reinvention of yourself. French Room - better take another look at what you are about to present and the new Chef better be as bold as his mouth. Mansion - sorry not even close.

We selected Flora Street Cafe based on online reviews and it did not disappoint! We had an excellent meal--great food and experience. From the moment we arrived and were treated by the hostess and waited for our table in the bar to the main dining room. Our server was attentive and skilled and responded to requests but was not over bearing. Definitely lived up to the reports!

We went for a 9:00 reservation last saturday night. Service at check-in and bar were very welcoming. Once seated our waiter seemed a bit timid at first but he came around quickly and was very knowledgeable about every dish from ingredients to the smallest detail about preparation. We shared appetizers: melon tomato salad which was a blend of wonderful flavors, and the crispy lamb belly were both incredible. The chicken roulade main course was well portioned and perfectly prepared, through a very interesting process it turns out, with cauliflower, peas and quesadilla. Dessert we shared the milk and honey which came highly recommended. Perfectly light, i only wish the fennel was slightly more prevalent. A great evening!

Tasting menu was incredible. Service was impeccable. Cocktails on point. It's a no-brainer in a city overwhelmed with incredible food options. Go check it out and enjoy!

This place is just simply AMAZING! When the concierge recommended this restaurant, I was quite apprehensive. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away. I felt like I was receiving hospitality from my Grandmother's Sunday dinner. The service was a little slow in the beginning however they quickly turned that around. Their attention to detail was impeccable. Their ability to recommend certain things on the menu was spot on! I truly felt completely cared for. The managers consistently checked in to make sure that I was enjoying the complete experience! The food was completely tender and cooked with great thought. You must visit this restaurant and sit at the chef's table.

This is a place for foodies. Lamb belly taco appetizer? Appetizer with cooked grasshopper on top. Private room has large tv screens on wall so you can watch chef prepare your food. Lobster tamale with cavier. If you are not an adventurous eater you will be challenged by the menu. Strip steak was tough and prepared very rare.

It is an interesting place for an elegant diner, business or pleasure. Beautiful place, nice elegant staff. They offer lots of free extras with your diner, no matter what you choose. I found the flavors to be a little too exotic for me- I was expecting a better taste for this price. Also went there for lunch- same impression. Nice night street views.

Somm Madeleine Thompson's wine service and the food were exceptional, and of course the decor is beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Every time we have dinner at Flora Street Cafe, we leave impressed. The atmosphere and dishes are art, as to be expected of fine dining in the Arts District. The service is quite good. After dinner, we usually walk the park above the restaurant and admire its sculptures and architecture. This is our new go-to spot.

The Stephan Pyles mystique draws here! You know its going to be good. He does not fail. Each course is soo tasty. we had a group of eight for a surprise birthday. Complete with flowers brought in fresh for the table and a very expensive beautiful cake brought in for the occasion. However when this hostess or asst to the mgr (not sure what her role was) was asked to refrigerate the cake until after the entrees she refused and further stated that we were not to cut this cake "it was against health dept rules". she could present it but it would have to be eaten somewhere else! the meal was over a thousand dollars and it sure appears to me they did not want to lose out on a desert order by serving a birthday cake brought in for the party... a case of greed maybe... a case of seriously bad P.R. for sure! i realize this review takes on a more personal taste but the young lady at the door, whose appearance was a throw back to the fifties, needs to be better at handling situations that require grace and class and not appear that her training came from Sonic!

My husband and I went to Flora Cafe twice. First time we did the tasting menu, which was mostly average for $600. We went back to give the ala carte menu a try. Just like other Steven Pyle's restaurants, we concluded that the food had good presentation but the Quality of food was disappointing. The menu had limited items for this type of restaurant. Believe it or not the tiny portion of wagu steak that they served me for $80 was veiny and chewy. My husband got the venison. It tasted very processed( I guess to make it less chewy), it was cold and the presentation was average at best. The server was not friendly, or attentive. It is a nice place to go on a date to impress someone, but if you are a foodie and going there to experience excellent food and service, I hate to tell you this, you will be disappointed .

I'm reluctant to post because this isn't a very big restaurant and I don't want it to become impossible to secure pre-theater dinner reservations but here it goes. We have been long time subscribers to the ATTPAC Broadway Theater series and have tried just about all the pre-theater options around Dallas. Flora Street Café is as good as it gets, especially now that they have a pre-theater menu. Just the right amount of's really art as food, both perfectly presented and perfectly prepared....before sitting down for the show across the street. Chef Pyles made the rounds and made us feel like old friends returning his house for a bite to eat. It's just a very elegant dinning experience without feeling pretentious. Will definitely be back before the next show.

This is the place to go for a unique dining experience. Formal but friendly, impeccable service. Course after course of culinary delights in Stephen Pyles' newest restaurant, although the menu may not tempt everyone. Expensive but one of a kind. Dishes from two of the three short menus would have been sufficient for me; I ordered three as recommended but took a box home. Wine choices/recommendations were excellent.

Beautiful setting and great service but food was very disappointing. The Wagyu Ribeye was a bit tough and not what I expected for a restaurant at this price level. Appetizer was over salted and dessert nothing special. The food presentation was beautiful, if only it tasted as good as it looked.

This was a beautifully crafted dinner experience but being a foodie I wouldn't say this place knocked my socks off. We (2 people) sat at the chefs counter which was a fun experience but overall the food felt like it lacked ingenuity. All of the flavors of the dishes came together beautifully but we didn't walk out of there with a sense of awe and amazement. We did feel the staff and chefs were sincere and kind which contributed to an excellent atmosphere. The cocktails were delicious and went well with the food. If you haven't had the opportunity to try Flora Street cafe. Make a reservation and go. You won't regret it.

Routh Street Café was the first exposure I had to Stephan Pyles food and he continues to amaze me with his recreation of food. The restaurant is beautiful, the service is outstanding, the knowledge of the sommelier is above excellent and she is such a delight- taking time to answer each and every question, lingering to visit - not the snooty kind who seems to know way to much, but imparts so little. Having a visit at the table by Stephan and his partner throughout the evening, just enhanced the dining experience. Arriving a bit early, they quickly showed us our table and our dining experience began. The skate was perfectly prepared and the recommended Pinot Noir was superb.

While Flora Street Cafe may be pricy for dinner, it is a great value for lunch. Given the quality, I will return whenever I'm in Dallas. I had the quinoa-wheatberry salad, which is a symphony of tastes and textures. The puffed cherries are fun, but the salad is full of wonderful surprises that work together beautifully. And I defy anyone to leave the table hungry after this dish. My mother had the lobster club sandwich, which would make two meals for almost anyone. The sandwiches are stuffed with lobster, and the chipotle brioche and candied bacon just make them sing. The setting is beautiful, and the service was excellent.
