Super yummy. This is busy spot though on the lunch hour!! Nice staff and pretty efficient. But I’d drive through next time.

This location is on a hill with a very bad driveway and the drive through is a bad setup. It is difficult to manuver if you are in a large vehicle. The food makes up for it since all the tacos are so creative. My favorite is the fried avocado taco. I never thought that frying avocado was possible but it is very delicious. I have this every time I eat at Torchies along with the chips and queso. the service is not friendly but it is fast.

Our favorites are the Trailer Park and the Baja Shrimp. Get the Trailer Park "trashy" and they will cover it with cheese. Green chile queso is some of the best in town. Extra sauces are all very good, as well.

The boast vegan/vegetarian options. This is unfortunately as I have stumbled upon a total lie. If you are vegan or vegetarian then avoid them. This is the second time in months (after taking a freak out break from the first incident) that I found hidden chunks of meat in my order. The bs from the manager both times is that they will look into it. NOT OKAY. #boycott #violated #vegan

Always good, always unusual combinations, pricey but worth it. Ask for the "secret" menu. Bourbon chicken was really good. Also catfish. These had catchy names, but I didn't catch 'em, I guess. Whatever. You really can't go wrong. We seem to get different ones each visit, and all are good.

Had a really good lunch at Totchy's this week and easy on the wallet. The tacos are huge and the black beans and rice very well presented. Could be a once a week habit. The ahi tuna tacos are especially good.

It is definitely worth the visit! Yum tacos. The setup and ambience is great! Wish it was a little cleaner though

This is my fav torchys, I grew up in the neighborhood and watched the establishment be many different things. Finally, it became a delicious wonderful taco joint. Staff is friendly, food is great. But beware....DO NOT TRY TO ORDER OR EVEN EAT THERE ON A SATURDAY MORNING! or even mid day sat. Since this is one of the best restaurants in the 'hood, it's also one of the few with a drive-thru. Everyone in northwest hills wants a taco Sat morning, I don't blame them, the breakfast tacos are delicious! All in all, eat here, it's great, just beware it gets busy fast and there are some wait times.

Ordered up some breakfast tacos -- chorizo/egg/cheese, bacon/egg/cheese and potato/egg/cheese for a group of us helping a family member move. All tacos were tasty and quite filling. It does take a long time for an order to be filled, but worth the wait.

I like Mexican food and tacos as much as the next guy. Needed a quick lunch and saw good reviews for torchys everywhere. I will caveat this and mention I went through the drive thru. Don't know if this makes any difference. I got a selection of 5 different tacos for us to try. None of them really did it for me. I guess the pork green choke was the best. We also had the democrat - beef/avocado a lot of beef, republican - sausage/cheese this one was the worst. Just a sausage link split in half length wise and cheese in a tortilla (thought it would be ground sausage). One bite was it. We also had the Baja shrimp just ok. We were given a ton of different salsas and t wasn't sure which was designed to go with which taco for the best flavor combo. That may have helped the situation. However, it was what it was which was just average.

I've always heard folks swear by Torchy's so wanted to try it. We sat outside (nice). Got queso (too hot for us Yankees), and tacos. Good overall.

Me and my wife received several recommendations to eat at Torchy's when we visited Austin and we are very happy we did! We tried the green chile pork, beef fajita and Brushfire (Jamaican Jerk chicken) tacos...all delicious! So many great flavor combinations! However, the green chile queso and chips took our meal to the next level! Amazing queso with green chiles, guacamole, queso fresco, cilantro and Diablo hot good!!! Don't skip Torchy's if you visit Austin!

We went here on a weekend afternoon, and it was busy. The tacos have fun names, like the "Republican," the "Democrat," etc. I'm pretty sure the "Republican" is a political statement, based on the ingredients. However, politics aside, my daughter and I enjoyed our tacos! I had a democrat and a shrimp taco--they were both stuffed full of ingredients (really, 1 would have been plenty), and we had the chips and queso. That had to be the best queso I've ever eaten (and I'm an aficionado)! It had lots of tasty little bits of peppers in it, and what seemed to be a scoop of guacamole. Hmmmm.....maybe I'll have to go again, so I can examine it more closely! :) The tacos are very generous, so if you're having chips and are not a huge volume eater, I'd recommend going with 1 taco. Honestly, this is a fun, very casual place to grab a great taco. It didn't seem to be the cleanest (lots of leftover crumbs on the empty tables, floors kind of dirty), so that is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.

Wife and I enjoyed a great meal here. Tried the beef fajita tacos, shrimp and the jerk chicken. All were full of flavor and authentic. We also enjoyed the chips and queso. Reasonably priced too

Wish I could have eaten a few different kinds of tacos but one is enough! I got beef fajita and some guacamole and chips. Very good- loved the crispy chips. The Taco was little bit pricey but it was big and yummy. Very filing. Cool place with friendly nice people working. The only thing I could say was wrong was it kinda smelled funky in there when we first walked in- like garbage. It was an older place. We sat outside and it was really nice. I liked Torchys and will probably eat there again but maybe in a different location.

This Torchy's still has a funky decor. (Some others are techno urban modern.) It's perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. All of the menu is available all day, so you can eat eggs for dinner or salmon for breakfast. The food is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable. Our bill, for two tacos at breakfast, is $6.50. The breakfast tacos are omelets in tortillas. Made fresh when you order. Nothing is on a steam tray. And the staff are super friendly.

We were introduced to this restaurant by friends and it was a home run! The place is small and stays busy so be prepared. The reason is because the tacos are awesome!!! They have a large assortment of choices and there are no bad choices. We had several people in our party and all got different choices. All were fantastic! It is definitely a home town favorite. It isn't expensive and the atmosphere is fun. Definitely try it if you have the chance.

I have eaten at all of the Torchy's in the Austin area, and the food is always consistent. I have my usual taco, chips, and salsa and it makes a great lunch. This particular location has a little funk to it. Smaller than others, and tables close to the order and pickup areas can make this one pretty hectic during a busy lunch hour.
