I had been to a place similar to this in Brixton, London. They did a good job creating theirs here in Austin. It was very chill, everyone seemed to be having a good time. Would go back!

Great bar with lots of room for a group. We enjoyed the live tunes, drinks and the taco truck out back. The Rainey st area is lots of fun!

The Container Bar Built from actual shipping containers this place is pretty cool. I was here for SXSW and they had some great musical acts performing. Nice place to get a drink and hang out and right on Rainey Street. Definitely different from the rest and worth checking out.

Gets pretty crowded but there's a reason why... very cool design and while mostly outdoors, you can definitely take refuge from the heat in the little air conditioned containers. Awesome place to hang outdoors and have a good time!

Not surprisingly given the design, the acoustics here are absolutely horrible. If there is a band playing you cannot hear someone shouting into your ear, and the band also sound terrible. Stayed for one drink and left.

After riding around South Congress on motorcycles, we headed down to Rainey Street to find shelter from the heat. I was greeted with a "Cherry Limeade" which was not only tasty, but outstandingly refreshing.

I stopped in for a beer as the stacked containers stood out so much against the bungalow's of Rainey street. It's a pretty simplistic layout with limited second level seating and standing. The interior is mostly open with a large section for games and fun. There were a few bachelorette parties visiting while i was here and the guys were enjoying it.

Great DJ on Sunday!!! Great atmosphere....crowded, but still space to move around. Good dance floor. Drinks reasonably priced for such a popular area like Rainey St.

Located in the must visit Rainey St. District in Austin, TX. Mostly made of shipping containers, it is definitely giving off that cool, Keep Austin Weird vibe... Food Truck food, DJ's, and great crowds make it a great place to hang out with friends.

Container bar is where the party is at on Rainey Street. I was there on a Sunday and it was much busier than other bars on the block. There are three bars but only one was open on Sunday afternoon. The DJ was fun and the drinks were great. Prices were on par with the rest of the area. Can't wait to come back!

Neat concept with a bar made out of shipping containers. There was a food truck there also. Needs a bit more seating. Think the bartender gave me the wrong beer as it didn't taste quite right.

I was in Austin for training and decided to visit the famous Rainey street. I went there with a co-worker and we decided to go to the container bar, the bar was built entirely with containers (the kind you find on the docks). Very unique and atypical. We sampled a few tequilas. A must do when in Austin!

With the unique setup of this bar, the shipping containers used really allows for a lot of space to explore. We walked around a bunch while being in here and found a few favorite spots. Downstairs by the bar is busy and loud, upstairs you'll find nooks to chat and there's even an arcade game! Fun place!

We found this place by accident, lucky us. We walked up and down the street and settled here. Got a drink, and some great nacho's from the food truck.

Headed to the Container Bar for a pre-dinner drink. It is a really cool space that utilizes shipping containers to create indoor-outdoor space to hang out. The bar is well stocked and there is a food truck that sells tacos, nachos, and other treats on site.

This is a bar made all of metal semi-truck containers. It gives you some good vantages to people watch on the street below, while having a pretty typical bar drink. Not a wine kind of place. You can also play Corn Hole while you sip. Fun kind of college age bar.

Wonderful and different concept for a bar. The music was diverse and kept everyone dancing and partying. The drinks were decent. Definitely worth checking out if you're on Rainey Street in Austin.

A super cool and different kind of vibe for a bar. It was a little more of a college scene then expected but I didn't realize just how close it was to the actual university. I'd go back, I'd just reconsider going in the middle of summer haha.
