A choice that says, "I don't eat Cocoa Pebbles anymore, I'm a grown up", while satisfying your hollandaise habit: eggs Benedict. The perfect bread/ham/egg/sauce ratio.

Really different, delicious menu options. Wonderful brunch cocktails. Laid back and uber-friendly. Gets crowded quickly. Opens a bit later than expected - 10 a.m. during the week - but worth the tummy grumbles leading up to it.

I had a very brief window for dinner during SXSW and enjoyed the service and the food here, as well as a nice glass (or two) of cabernet sauvignon. Although they were crazy busy, they accommodated me and brought the food out quickly and with a smile

Phenomenal food. The Carrot Cake French Toast is unbelievable, so memorable and it comes with cream cheese pecan syrup that we felt like we could eat by the pound, it was so good!! Other food was also very tasty, and paired with great, friendly service. Would love to go back!

We were looking for a good place for breakfast and our hotel recommended this place. We were glad they did. It's a funky little cafe that seems to fit right into Congress Street. The brunch/breakfast menu wasn't extensive, and the service seemed a bit pretentious for a cafe, but we enjoyed our visit. The croque madame was delicious and the goat cheese & bacon omelette was pretty good - although thrown together a bit haphazardly. Overall, it hit the spot and fueled us on for our travels. Recommended.

Jet lagged, we ate here as the first place we found. Very friendly and good service. My steak was a bit rarer than medium rare and it and the frites over-salted for my taste. My partner's beet and kale salad with (big) shrimp was good and the chocolate brownie we shared also good. Two mains dessert and two glasses of wine $84 including tip seemed fair value.

Found their patio behind the main restaurant off South Congress. Nice outdoor bar too. Lots of shade and the menu looked amazing. Unfortunately we had already ate and opted for dessert. Dessert was fresh and tasty. Looks like a great brunch spot. We will be back to try it!

Wonderful soup and very a interesting menu with exciting fish choices which made a few in our party very happy. We all found what we wanted, including vegetarian. They also have a full bar. It looks more like a cafe, but the food is more gourmet than that.

They do not serve lunch---they call it brunch. This cafe on South Congress Street caters to college students and tourists and is crowded and noisy. The street has chic boutiques and interesting collectables and is a tourist attraction. The popular restaurant does not take reservations for brunch but they have a call ahead wait list. There are tables and booths and seats at the bar where there is also a waiting area with benches. The menu is interesting with original takes on their offerings. One can get omelets with assorted veggies and cheeses. Their eggs Benedict comes in several varieties such as crab cakes in place of the usual English Muffin. Their corned beef hash is more stew like loaded with vegetables. Many dishes are accompanied by a potato pancake with a dollop of sour cream. Their version of a quiche is more like a densely packed egg dumpling. They have interesting cocktails and a full bar with local beers. Prices are a bit on the high side for a mostly egg menu although the offerings are offbeat and different. Parking is on the street. Service is friendly but can be slow.

From the outside it didn't look like it is open, as the windows are covered. It is a lovely casual restaurant with fresh flowers on each table. They offered us a discount to sit at the bar, but the ambiance was lacking. The food was excellent, particularly the Eggs Benedict.

We really wanted to like this restaurant. I believe there may be some more upscale restaurants in the area but this place does appeal to the masses! Nothing wrong with that just that it does miss the mark on certain things. Food is good; not great but if you stick to breakfast then you are safe Service staff is friendly but not well trained or experienced. One mishap server dropped Bloody Mary all over of my guests back and chair. Drink water not comped off bill nor was there any concern or service recovery from server or manager. When we asked for manager to see if something could he done on the bill she was clueless on simple hospitality and service recovery. Most likely why the server didn't know what to do when he dropped the drink. Will I Go Back? No. Try it once and then head to other good spots on South Congress and 1St st

They were rated as best brunch place and suprisingly the Internet did not lie.. We were very well taken care, the food was tasty and came out fast. The drinks were faster and fairly well heeled (more alcohol then most..) We sat outside in the back deck and would highly recommend that. The staff was awesome and super accommodating. we moved a bunch of tables together and they were really easy going and helpful. would definitely recommend food was great, service was exceptional.

Was told that I couldn't leave Austin without trying the migas in this restaurant. The food was good not great except for the bacon, it was awesome. I thought the price was a little high and the service was not the most friendly.

Went their with my husband, brother in law and his wife for dinner. I would recommend making a reservation before hand and you can specify if you want a table or booth. The food was very good although a tad pricy. But the quality is very good.

We had to wait at the bar but got a seat and watched the action. In no time we were shown to our table. Our server was having a bid day but that was the only down side to our experience. Perfectly prepared steak, delicious roasted Brussels sprouts, just all 4 of us were very very happy.

Great wait staff and many great options on their menu. It was hard to decide. The goat cheese omelet was delicious. It was crowded when we were there so the noise level was a bit high. It was also chilly outside and we were seated right by the door that was constantly being opened. Make sure you aren't seated by the door if it's cold outside.

Had brunch at South Congress Cafe after a leisurely stroll down South Congress on a beautiful sunny Austin day. Started off with a carafe of Mimosas for $10. Delicious and what a deal! Ordered the Sunshine Burrito and it did not disappoint. My husband had the Angel's Benedict and so did others in our party and they said it was outstanding. The staff was attentive and friendly. They didn't rush you out. The place was a little dark. Put it on your list for sure.

Great brunch with a very interesting eclectic menu. Not only do they advertise the worlds best Bloody Mary's but their food ain't that bad at all. In fact it was delicious. A little pricey and not dog friendly are too negatives but a positive place for brunch Best so far. Eat outside.
