Let's face it. There are many breweries popping up all over the states. Not many stand out like Jester King. We did not find any simple one dimensional beers here, complex beers that required much thought and expertise. The place itself is a gem with a large pizza shop, a bottle list for to go beers unlike any place we have been. They are selling great beers from other breweries as well as their own. The place was awesome and highly reasonable for the caliper of brews you receive. We can not say enough good stuff about this place or the people we met there. Cheers !!!

Lots of beer and wine choices, plus Stanley's Farmhouse pizza on property. No inside air conditioned seating though, which is tough in 100 degree weather.

This is a very popular place with a large selection of beers. It was very hot but still enjoyable. There is a pizza place on site to get something to eat and bottles available to go. The downside is the majority of the bottles we picked were out of stock and most of the merchandise is limited, no shirts available in our sizes and no tin tackers for sell which we were told "we never will".

Beer was good, but nothing special. Very expensive, and there are better breweries closer to Austin.

If you're into sour beers this is your place - I'm not. If you like sweating profusely while drinking beers you're really going to enjoy this place - I'm not. The seating areas are outside and not conducive to beer enjoyment on a hot day. The beers offered are mostly overpriced sour beers. Once you get your beer you need to finish it quick because if not, you'll be drinking hot and sour beers. The t-shirts offerings are of cheap quality and overpriced - not worth the purchase.

Very cool open space with a rustic feel and great beer. Family and dog friendly. Take the tour. Informative and not too long.

Heard great things about Jester King and decided to visit as I was in the area. Turned off the main road and on to a series of lesser roads as we got closer. Still noticed heavier than expected traffic on these back roads. Commented that all of the traffic must be headed to JK. Made final turn and was amazed as to how big the place is. Saw three large parking lots. Beer selection was real nice. Several guest brews as well as their own. Pretty good wood fires pizza! Nice you can buy sample size taste glasses. Well worth the visit.

Next to several working ranches in the country Near Dripping Springs you will find Jester King Brewery (JKB). My son-in-law, the home brewer, came over 1400 miles with JKB number one on his visit list. Hard to begin so I will focus on the beer. I love beer and and my son-in-law makes good beer. Lets just say we sampled several and took some home. JKB is noteworthy in another sense in that it chooses to make great beer in Texas for Texans. As of this review it is my understanding it is not available outside of Texas. I admire his craft and discipline. All that and really good beer too. And I mention the pizza and live music?

This place looks like something out of a fancy magazine. It was so beautiful was way bigger than I thought it was going to be. The pizza smelled so great, but sadly the line was so long the whole time. The beer was priced perfectly and everyone seemed to be having the best time. It's a very relaxed atmosphere with lots of seats and a huge field for kids to run around in. I would definitely recommend stopping by here!

Gorgeous. The scenery, the beer, the artwork on the bottles, the pizza... all in all a beer paradise. The Jester King beers on tap leaned more toward the lighter/tart side, but there were many other guest beers available in all styles (including wine and ciders). The selection was overwhelming in the best way possible. 4oz pours were priced relatively low which made it possible to try a large variety of drinks. Can't wait to go back again!

It was more spread out than I expected and not much signage to direct you to the "Jester" beer as opposed to the "guest" beer so we did hard time in a long line only to find out the beer was from Michigan-sigh....missed out on 3 pm tour because of big line that hid your entrance- double sigh Finally... heaven- naturally occurring wind born yeast has never tasted so good! We purchased a couple of unchilled bottle to relive the pleasantries.....

What's not to love? Superb beer, beautiful Hill Country views, good pizza, chandeliers hanging from the trees...we love it all, even waiting in line for ever for a beer. It's all part of the fun!

We went to Jester King for lunch after a morning hike at a state Park that was close by. My friend and I had 2 -11yr. Old girls that kept themselves busy with corn hole games and thier imaginations running around. The beer & ciders are delicious, the pizzas can't be beat-fresh, brick oven baked & interesting combos. (We had the bechemel w/ spinach, red peppers, feta, fontina &calamata olives... YUM!!! ) The venue is fantastic for all ages. Ample picnic tables in the shade, with umbrellas, under roof cover, and in the sun. Lots of open space for the kiddos & adults to enjoy. It appears that well behaved & leashed dogs are welcome. Although we did not partake, there is a brewery tour onsite and available at various times thru the day. Would recommend this to any & all.... e saw a couple of bachelor parties taking place when we were there.. great idea!!

Visited the brewery during recent trip to San Antonio. It is about 1.5 hr drive from SA, long for normal people but well worth it for the beer nerd. We went on a Friday and arrived right at 4:00 when they opened. They had a bottle release that day and had ~100 people in line. Fantastic beers, really cool place if you have the chance to visit.

Its hard to describe how awesome it is to spend a day at Jester King. Tucked away in the hill country west of Austin this is a great place to relax and enjoy some top notch beers. With multiple taps and an extensive bottle list each weekend it is easy to please most beer lovers. Jester King also sells many of their beers to go as well an many other breweries. Right next door you can get some great wood fired pizza from Stanley's and they have more beer on tap as well. Definitely worth the drive, plan on staying for hours.

Brew pub ? Wood fired Pizzeria ? Two barns in the middle of nowhere ? Best star gazing around ? Yes to all. Tons of bottled beer and beer on tap, including those brewed on site. Daily tasting tours during weekend days, but we were there in the PM. Good selection of wine and hard cider for non-beer drinkers. There must have been a hundred liquid libation options ! Take your glass/bottle across the way to the Pizza ovens for totally toasty and upscale or build-your-own pizza. They are 12" and really could be comfortably shared....if you could decide on only one to share !! Otherwise...leftovers to go. More beer and cider out in the Pizza barn. First time I tried *pineapple* cider - it was a home run with a speck, red onion and arugula pie.(note to self - while there is little better than cold breakfast pizza the morning after...the arugula did not hold up well ) Only 18 miles outside of downtown Austin - but seems like further away in the dark. And defiantly a decent road trip.

My fiancé is a head brewer at a small brewery here in Colorado, so on our road trip through Texas he made it our mission to find this awesome place. I am not always on board with trekking from brewery to brewery, but this place has it all. They serve amazing thin crust pizza made on site, there is a large well landscaped area to enjoy your beers outside and in the company of other beer enthusiasts and their families. The architecture is beautiful, there is plenty of parking and you could easily spend a whole day out there just enjoying the ambiance.

I really enjoy going to Jester King. On the outskirts of Austin (more into the Hill Country) which makes for a nice get away for an afternoon or early evening. Unique variety of beers, free tour is fun and informative. All seating is outdoors on picnic tables and in a sheltered area. Pizza restaurant on the premise is really good...just order early as it may take a while. Would be a great place to sit outside and listen to live music (hint hint to owners/managers).

Our son took us here with the grandchildren. I was not sure what to expect as we drove further into the country side. The first impression was not great, uneven roads, rustic buildings. But it was ideal. It was a warm day, so the children could run free in the extensive grounds while we adults enjoyed the wide range of beers on offer. Also there was pizza to enjoy. Overall a really pleasant afternoon.
