One of Portland's best, and simplest, dinner duos is the Nostrana radicchio salad and chef Cathy Whims' wood-fired margherita pizza. And you'll get both of these just shy of half off during Whims' Pearl District pizzeria's early bird happy hour.

Quickly seated, the tidy up very quickly for a fast table turnover. Friendly service staff. Several appetizers on the menu and a good range of pizzas. Wood fired oven so expect a few black spots, charcoal must be good for you since they use it in purifiers. This is a big place and on a Wednesday night was busy so they are doing something right. We felt we got value for money, not cheap but good value.

Our hotel was close by and wanted a casual place to go for dinner. Wow! The pizza here was amazing. We had a special of the day and it was as good a pizza as I have ever had. Our waitress, Sarah, was knowledgeable and very pleasant. We sat outside and enjoyed the warm evening with pizza and a glass of Italian red wine. Perfect!

We had dinner here before a movie---sat at the bar so we wouldn't have to wait for a shared table. Service was friendly, fast & efficient. Shared 2 salads, a pizza & an appetizer among the four of us & it was more than enough. We would definitely return.

Had a great meal here. Upbeat and somewhat noisy atmosphere. Service great and pizza fabulous. Had a margarita pizza with some of the best fresh marinara sauce I have ever tasted. Also loved my cauliflower pizza with olives and little peppers...delicious and creative. Crust deliciously delicate and smoky. Everything super fresh and delicious. Only negative was that we ate on the later side and they switch to a bar menu around 10:00. Very limited desserts offered after that to finish our meal. Had my eye on the huckleberry cheesecake from the table next to us, but no longer available, which was disappointing. Not sure why they couldn't just serve the desserts that were already prepared in the back to diners.

The staff is really friendly. The place is well setup inside and outside area too. We had the marinara and cauliflower pizza. I'd almost say that the sauce in the marinara is the best tomato sauce I've ever tasted on a pizza! Wished there was more of.. The cauliflower pizza was nice too. But I probably won't choose it again - there's lots of other choices. The cider on the menu is good. We enjoyed that, as well as the Bolivian wake-up call cocktail. It's a strong drink, so be warned! Note: a marinara pizza in the US is sauce + cheese only - not your typical seafood pizza like in Australia

We ate here for lunch one day during our time in Portland and had a lovely meal. The sun was shining so the wide shutter windows were open letting in fresh air which was lovely and it wasn't too busy as it was the middle of the day during the week. The service was good and the pizzas were delicious, but it's quite pricey for what you get. There's nothing particularly special about them; they are great but so are many others. If you're willing to pay a little more then this place is worth it

Although we did not have pizza, others at our table did and they looked great. We had salad (radicchio) which my husband said was great and I had one of their sandwiches. The Ginger Ale "ala minute" was very tasty on a warm afternoon. Next time we would try the pizza.

Loved the chopped salad and pizza. They have some tasty pizza combinations. Their drinks are also very inventive and easy drinking!

Great service staff. Food was very good from pizza to the fried chickpeas. Likes the atmosphere.....drinks a little skimpy.

It was our first night in Portland, and we wandered into Oven and Shaker looking for a late dinner. Turned out to be a good find! We got the Spicy Salami pizza and the Maple Pig pizza - both good choices! Two pizzas were just the right amount for the three of us. The server was friendly and helpful.

First and foremost I must say I am a sucker for affogato, it is espresso with gelato ice cream… So good and not every Italian place makes it that great but Oven and Shaker got it right on the money. We ordered several things off the menu so we could get a variety..... meatballs, macaroni, their cheese plate and of course their pizza is authentic Italian so it's a lot better then most pizza places. They place is almost always busy but that's because it's so good and worth the short wait.

We shared a spiced salami which was very well proportioned for two people. It was delicious and the service was attentive and informative. TA needs to have a 4.5 score which is what this place really deserves.

Ate lunch here while visiting Portland. Wow! The food delicious. I shared a Caesar salad that was made with radicchio rather than the usual romaine. Then a white pizza with anchovies. The food was fresh and flavorful. Service was terrific. There is an extensive wine and beer list with many local selections. Pretty reasonably priced, too. If I ever get back to Portland I will definitely eat here again.

Good fancy wood fired pizza in the Pearl District. But none of the pizza choices are for kids or those that like generic pizza. Great place for couples or first dates.

Found the place while walking around. Came in and ordered a pizza and the cheese tray. The service was good, the food was good, and the atmosphere was good - a little loud but the restaurant is open with a bar. The prices were right in and the food quality was very good. Nice place with good food.

The first time we came here (yes, we came here more than once in a week...) we enjoyed both the food and the drinks. The atmosphere is warm and the guys are always super nice. If you come to Portland, you can't miss this spot!

We stopped in for lunch, it wasn't too busy so we were seated quickly. We shared the Kale Salad and a pizza. Both were great! It was also very affordable! I will be heading back next time I go!
