Stay in a Japanese pod hotel. Friendly staff, great rooftop bar/restaurant and walking distance to Jacits and Port Authority.

Yotel hotels are known for their eco-friendly reputations and make it their priority to implement sustainable practices in their operations. Besides using energy and water-flow managing systems, they also minimize print and paper usage by communicating with guests via mobile and having automated check-ins/outs.

We booked for 12 nights, we did our due-diligence so had a good idea what to expect. The rooms are a little rough around the edges, stuff like the shower head needing a good clean or wires hanging out of the back of the TV, little things that might have bumped up the quality of the stay. You don't really deal with the staff because of the way Yotel set their hotels up. However, the guys in the foyer were great and helped us when we arrived and left. We would go back just for the elevator music though.

It's the second time I stay at this property. Location and cleanliness aside, there isn't much of the original or wow experience about this place. Front desk people and cleaning staff are pretty sharp but if you're gonna take Eastern Europeans as waitstaff at your bar/restaurant, make sure they speak proper English and know how to take a meal order without the attitude. I'm sure there's plenty of NYC raised folks who can do this job in a friendly and competent way. Food was quite average (mussels were NOT properly cleaned and wine was stale) and so on. Don't think I can recommend this property at this point.

I was spending in New York by myself. I didn't want a hotel too far from the action & shopping at NYC. I checked reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to stay at the Yotel and what a fabulous stay it was. Its superbly located... a 12 minute walk from Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Bryant Park... it's right next to the Lincoln Tunnel, so you can get in and out of the city in no time. I went to the Hudson, which is a 6 minute walk for long quiet morning walks. The rooms are kinda small, but I was only coming back to change for dinner and crash after a long day. The highlight of my room was a fabulous view of the Empire State building. The elevators are snazzy, with the James Bond theme and even I Dream Of Genie theme playing in it. The hotel has a fabulous rooftop bar.

We booked Yotel not knowing what to expect and frankly liked the price and saw all the reviews on Trip Advisor. We really did enjoy it. The room was very small and reminded me of a cruise ship which I think is the intent. Although.....it was fine, clean and very comfortable. The view was fabulous. I personally would like a door on the bathroom as their was only a curtain and that bothered me a bit, but I can probably get past that. I think! The staff was very nice and helpful. The biggest draw was the rooftop deck, bar, seating, couches and outdoor movie screen. It was so cool and great views. The also have a cafe and a restaurant. All in all I will try it again and maybe get the next size up on the room.

Very impressed.- friendly, helpful and courteous staff, excellent service in the restaurant, very comfortable bed and room with nice big tv. Good concierge service. I'd stay again! My only concern was that the shower was right next to the window which did not have frosted glass and there was only a pull down canvas blind to protect my personal privacy whilst showering or using the toilet. But otherwise no complaints whatsoever!

Quite an interesting hotel. It's great if you don't want to stay at a hostel - it's great if you don't want to stay st a luxury property. The self check in was really fun and the rooms were modern and funky. Very clean. I'd go back again, for sure.

It is very good but not impressive from my point of view. I attended an event in this hotel and it has an impressive terrace to take advantage of. The auditorium was arranged backwards, you got in and we're almost at stage and had to go all the way back being very noticed. The sound was awful, they put the screen at the front but not elevated so the first row could see the presentations but from the third row to the back nobody could see a thing. On the second day they moved it to the side... the food was ok but too small... and though I did not stay, one of the attendees to this event told me the room was veeeery small. I was not very much impressed. I think it's average.

Yotel is not your ordinary hotel - in lots of ways. Yotel is located about a 10-minute walk to the theater district, which is why I chose this hotel for a 1-night stand on 9/16. And I when I left to drive home, it was a short drive into the Lincoln Tunnel to get back to NJ. How convenient! Check-in is very efficient - as efficient as you make it since you're checking in yourself at a kiosk/terminal in the ground-floor lobby. (There is a separate check-in/out desk on the 4th floor.) So if something goes wrong, you only have yourself to blame. But don't arrive early since early check-in costs an additional fee (if there's a room available). Try to check-in around noon before the normal check-in of about 3pm and you'll be set back about $25. Decline early check-in but try to store your bags? Well, that's $2 per bag. Do you get the feeling you're being nickled and dimed? Of course, late check-out has a fee too! Usually, hotels don't charge your credit card until you check-in or even check-out. We made our reservation on Wednesday 9/13 for a Saturday 9/16 stay. The charge showed up on our credit-card statement received in the mail on 9/18. When exactly was that charge processed? The rooms are called "cabins" so you have a cabin number, not a room number. Cute. And maybe it does give you the experience of sailing. Can't say since we've not cruised before. We had a room with a queen bed. Space is at a premium, so your bed - with the press of a button - become a "couch" (kind of - the head of the mattress folds over and raises up while the rest of the mattress moves back to give more space to walk around in your cabin - not that there's much footage in the room to begin with). I can live with that. Friends who had stayed here another time said the beds were the most comfortable they'd slept on. I don't think I'd go that far. One nice touch was a towel warmer. Take a shower (no shower door so be careful stepping out) and dry yourself off with a nice warm towel. I can live without that. The restaurant where we breakfasted was ok. A $14 lox with cream cheese on a bagel was a bit skimpy on the lox. Having to change elevators on the 4th floor is a drag, especially if you're in a rush. One elevator serves ground to 4, while other elevators serve guest rooms going from 4 upwards. Would I stay there again? Probably not.

So we decided to take a last minute road trip up the east coast and see some of the country. The plan was to not have a plan until the day prior. When we decided to head to NYC we were pretty shocked at the hotel prices until we found Yotel. We got a room there for about half of what other hotels were charging, 300 compared to 5-600. When we got there we were a little confused about the parking since the attendant was not really good with English. He said he was going to park the car and just leave the keys in it which we didn't like, finally after about 15 minutes of discussion we just decided that if that's how it was don't there it must be ok so we got all of our belongings out, since you can't return to your car, and went to check in. There was no reception desk or anything simply a kiosk to check in with, simple enough tho. There is an attendant in the 4th floor once you actually get in to help with any questions. The room was very small but nice, again we paid about half compared to the other hotels so we didn't mind. Even being so cozy they made good use of the space so we didn't have any problems there. Overall we were pleased with the deal and will probably be back. Just FYI don't book tours through the hotel, they recommended it so we doomed a tour only to find out the hotel had charged us twice what the tour cost through the company itself.

Pros: - good location - affordable - good for short stays and if you just want a place to sleep in - close to shops Cons: - the place is noisy. From 26th, I can hear all the honking from the streets and all the talking outside the door in the hallway. I can hear my neighbors slam their doors. - staff keeps on knocking on my door even when I have the "Relaxing in progress, please come back later" sign just for changing the filter and what nots. - shower was designed without a door so everytime you shower the floor is soaking wet. - not really "spotlessly clean" as other reviews say - only provided shampoo that doubles as a body wash, and conditioner. No toothpaste, no toothbrush, no slippers - which are very basic hotel provisions. - rang mission control and nobody picked up, rang housekeeping and nobody picked up. - aircon turns off by itself, at night we wake up soaking in sweat. - not really my definition of "luxury element" as they claim in their website.

Having just two days in New York I wasnt expecting to spend too much time in the hotel room. I chose Yotel Hotel for its closeness to Times Square and its uniqueness. It was very conpact. Not much room to swing a cat. It was basic but had all the facilities needed to be confortable.

Very central and handy for the subway which I used to go to all the usual places. Service was excellent, room very clean and staff polite and courteous. The mattress was so comfy it has prompted me to buy a new one. No noticeable noise at night. I'd highly recommend.

Two -Early 40's couple away for weekend - queen executive view Both couples extremely impressed The hotel lobby is ultra unique- chic - with a robot arm to store luggage and a self serve computer to check in. ( don't worry as they have great staff available to assist) Once checked in - the hotels main lobby is on fourth floor with an unbelievable rooftop terrace and a ultra cool seating area with great little designer touches. Elevators were quick with quirky music we were excited to hear to make even a mundane elevator ride enjoyable. Room was fantastic - comfortable bed with cold airconditioner- windows that opened - mood lighting - quality soaps - fantastic monsoon shower and very well designed layout with a great view. This is probably best location possible. Just a quick 8 minute walk to Times Square subway and theatre district. What's makes it great is that it's just far enough away to be away from tourist traps. Your extremely close to a grocery store - pharmacy - wine store and great little restaurants. Very safe location and the walk to the action is enjoyable. The only down side was there was no ice bucket in room ( staff gladly provided) and the room did not come with a fridge. In summary - if you are looking for a hip modern hotel that provides a great value an location- this is a great choice

In three words that's why you can trust me and book this place. Near to the caos of Times Square and the 42 Street, but not in, a quiet and safe place where to stay and relax in NY. It has also got few times a month a fantastic cinema in the roof garden. No breakfast is included and it does not have a great one, but if you go near on the 42nd street you can find an old style American diner, or also a supermarket with all you need. Please note that the receptionists are very kind and helpful. See you soon, thanks

Loved staying at Yotel NY. Had read good reviews but was unsure what to expect. Unique and interesting 5 night hotel experience. Price was very reasonable for NY, the room was new, spotlessly clean and although small perfectly designed and adequate for our needs. Had a room with a view of the river and although it had only a small window it was worth the extra cost. Ate at Ollie's restaurant just around the corner which served good quality, reasonably priced food. Just a few meters from Ollies and only about one block from Yotel was a reasonably large grocery shop which had a good deli, breads and wide range of grocery supplies and sold beer and a limited stock of wine. We walked into Times Square, walked to and from a Broadway show and were able to walk with our luggage to the Manhattan Cruise Ship Terminal to embark on our cruise. We had booked the prepaid breakfast package which I will not do if we visit Yotel NY again as the menu was somewhat limited and service was quite slow when you are just itching to get out and explore this exciting city. All in all so glad we stayed here, a great experience.

Air bnb was canceled at the last minute. Needed a hotel for a 24 hour layover. Price was great for last minute. Better than expected when arrived to hotel. Great location to Times Square and restaurants. Modern touches and great room view even with the standard room selection. Loved the towel warmer! Bed frame had some wear and tear. (Only petty complaint I can think of) Would definitely stay here again. Definitely catered to younger clientele savvy with technology. Checkin via kiosk and checkout via email or kiosk. However here is a staff desk on the 4th floor to address any issues but they definitely encourage using the kiosk. Wifi worked great. Staff is friendly. Ate breakfast at the Fig restaurant. Decent food and professional staff.

Just returned to UK from a weeks visit to the Big Apple staying at Yotel. Executive queen view was fantastic with a fabulous view of Hudson River. Bed super comfortable. Room quiet and suberb housekeeping. All you could want from a hotel. Excellent location. We walked everywhere apart from one subway ride to Battery Park. Staff friendly and approachable. Shame we could not say the same about fellow New Yorkers who we found to be extremely rude, however this was no reflection on the staff at Yotel or any of the facilities which were fabulous!! Thank you for an extremely pleasant stay and I would not hesitate to recommend Yotel to all my family and friends.
