I remember liking everything, but being particularly fond of the grilled octopus.

Recently I again dined at Uncle Nick's and ordered the lamb shank, which the menu described as "tender" lamb. It sounded good, but the lamb was not at all "tender." In fact, it was not edible, as it was very, very tough. In addition, there was very little meat on the bone. The waiter agreed to take it back. I then ordered a substitute entree, which had lamb in it. It too had tough lamb. I believe that the lamb had possibly been cooked earlier, frozen and simply warmed up. So I will NEVER order any lamb dish from this restaurant again. I will stick with the fish.

Lovely wee Greek restaurant on 9th ave, we enjoyed massive portions of moussaka and chicken kebab, both served with rice and salad. Lovely Greek red wine to accompany, dessert portions of baklava and galaktaboreko were massive - sirloin steak size - and delicious. Service attentive and very friendly. Recommended.

I'm always happy to go to Uncle Nick's when I'm in the area. Authentic Greek food at reasonable prices. Great hot and cold appetizers and I especially love the grilled octopus. Lots of great fish and seafood too. Thanks.

Had lunch here with a cousin who is married to a Greek. We were not disappointed. Great ambience and the staff were awesome. We just ordered an array of appetizers and they were all excellent. The pita bread was constantly refilled. Reasonably priced.

We ate here 3 times during our 1 week stay. I love this place. Friendly service and excellent food. Nice for a large family. Everything we ordered was good. I especially like the grilled calamari. Can't go wrong here if you're looking for good Greek food.

From the outside, Uncle Nick's doesn't look like much, but walk in and you receive a warm welcome, well-prepared Greek food and thoughtful service. The menu was extensive, with a number of vegetarian options. The servings were generous and moderately priced. As it turned out, we couldn't finish our main dishes, but because we were going to the theatre after dinner, we didn't ask for a doggy bag. Our waitress offered to wrap everything up and keep it refrigerated for us until after the show. It was the first time that had made that offer. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Welcoming atmosphere with ample service, best feta cheese ever on salads, great pita, very big selection of fish entrees and incredible baklava. I have been here before and am already looking forward to my next visit. Reasonable prices for this neighborhood.

We ordered the four dips combo. The generous portions of tzatzki, tarma, eggplant and scordatia were nicely divided by tomato slices and served with warm pita. Usually when you get a combo, one of them disappoints, but not this time. All were good. The price was reasonable, as was the house Greek wine available by glass and caraf. We have had fish in the past which was very fresh and simply prepared.

If you like Greek food, this is an okay place for a quiet lunch. It was pretty empty when we were there on a recent Saturday afternoon. The moussaka was fairly good with accompaniments of rice and salad. Since the moussaka had potatoes in it, we didn't really need the rice. Service was good and the meal wasn't too expensive. Our friends had the vegetable moussaka and said it was good. It's a good location for a pre-theater lunch or dinner.

If you walk too fast you might go right passed this restaurnt. But if you are lucky you will find it and be able to enjoy great food. The servers are wonderful. When I went to order a large house salad to share with a friend, he said that will be too big! We ordered a small one and couldn't finish it even though it was so good. The tomatoes andcucumbers were so fresh. The spinach pie was perfect and the baclavah was a perferct ending to a lovely meal. Enjoy!

Top notch Greek comfort food. Was here for a buisniess meeting and the food sealed the deal! Started with the three dips combo served with warm pita bread, the moved on to a very large Greek country salad. Very fresh! For our main we shared a beautifully grilled red snapper. Great value !

If you want really good basic Greek food like someone's grandmother makes, look no further. Little ambience. Just good cheap food.

We try to make it to Uncle Nick's every time that we are in town. We often get the Saganaki-Tiri (Tony's Flaming Cheese)-fun to see the delivery and tastes great. We never skip the Maroulosalata Salad-so crisp and fresh! The atmosphere is great, tables are cozy, service is friendly and high energy. Can't miss visit to Hell's Kitchen.

We were heartily welcomed as we walked in the door and every single staff member that we encountered made us feel like we were a special guest, personally invited to their table. We weren't well versed in Greek cuisine so our waiter was very patient in explaining the menu or making suggestions. Later, he took time to give us the history of the place and talk about all the old photos on the wall. Even though Uncle Nick is no longer a part of the place, it's so intimate and they all cared so much, we would have believed that any one of them were Nick himself! Our meal was fantastic - a top spot in Hell's Kitchen!

Family owned and operated, Uncle Nick's (on Ninth Ave and 50th Street in the heart of NYC's Hells Kitchen), is a great relaxed spot to have some of the most delicioso Italian fare outside of Italy. Nothing fancy, just friendly, clean, inviting, spacious----with an extensive menu of mouth-watering dishes and pizzas from Heaven! A friendly staff makes you feel right at home, too. Skip the chain stores---try Uncle Nick's for authentic food at great prices!

Met friends on a Sunday evening for food and fellowship and were very pleased. Classic mezedes with pita bread- very good tzatziki, taramasalata and eggplant dip- didn't have the showy flaming cheese, but saw others who enjoyed it. Main courses included regular and vegetarian moussaka and both were excellent. Their grilled octopus is as good as you will get anywhere in the Aegean and the Greek sausage also outstanding. They were out of Mythos beer, but had several other options almost as good, and excellent white wine from Santorini's volcanic soil. My wife and I love Greek food, but even if you don't, there will be something for you, and at reasonable prices and good caring service.

Never had such a tender octopus as this place omgoodness it was so amazing! Loved all the dishes. Reasonable prices too didn't hurt. 20$ for a litre of wine. Unbelievable. But the octopus was our favourite. We ordered one and ended up getting another 3 for the table! Sooooo good. Very impressed with the Mexican waiter who could speak greek too! Bravo!! See you on our next trip paidia! Thank you for the hospitality.

We were staying at the Marriott so just googled Greek food and this one came up. What a treat. Started with the 4 sampler spread appetizer. It was great. Not the usual items we get in Idaho. I recommend it. The service was great. A real find.
