We styied there from the 6.9.2014 until the 9.9.2014. where do i start, i am going to make it nice and sweet, the whole place is dirty and smelly its absolutly disgusting do not go there! the only good thing about the hostel is the subway near by abut 8 to 10 mints walk and thats it. I will also includ photos so you can see for yourself how filthy this place is.

Only disadvantage was unfriendly "receptionist" - the guy just played computer games. Oterwise the bathrooms, beds and kitchen were clean. Rooms are quite small, but it's OK just for few nights. Great accessability to the subway.

Bem simples, mas é barato e me serviu direitinho.

Yes the only good thing about this place is the price. This place is horrible please stay away if you are a girl and a solo traveller. The hotel staff and the manager were extremely rude. The bed sheets stink and when you ask them to change it they give you the treatment as if you have committed a crime. People who work there treats you with the least respect as they think they can just walk into your room unlocking the passcode without even knocking on your door! Stay away!!!

I booked my stay online, but when their credit machine was down.. they told me I would have to incur the 5 dollar charge of using a nearby ATM to pay. After traveling in the rain and having bad luck with directions all day.. I simply asked to be allowed to stow my bags while I go to the ATM. They said they cant show me the room before I pay and refused to be helpful in stowing my bags somewhere safe. The place looked trashy and I guess they didnt want me to change my mind. There was also a man trying to book a room (but they were at capacity)while I was there. The man followed me to the mcdonalds atm, then when back to hostel as I phoned a friend about my rude treatment and how sketchy the place seemed. Upon returning back to the hostel to ask if the would reimburse my atm charges (surcharge and bank charge)...the owner/manager met me at the door and bared my entry. He shouted " I won't let you stay here, you dont know how to act!" I simply asked them to be more helpful and that would have been more professional and to consider its NOT the safest neighborhood. They called me racist, though I felt racially profiled in their treatment of me. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. The owner shut the door on my foot and pushed me.(I thought about calling the police). all bc he wanted to give my room to someone staying a longer time (more money). it's not worth saving 10 dollars.

Travelled all the way down to New York for the weekend only to discover at 8:45 that our accommodation we had booked online did not exist. This hostel had been closed down due to poor health & safety regulations. No place to stay! Do no visit this place unless you want to be walking around a dodgy neighborhood with no way to stay. No return of our $90 deposit and no New York fun.

Glad I spent only one night at this hostel. The rooms are extremely small, there's barely enough room to make two steps. There are no windows, so it gets really hot and stuffy with people inside. I guess that's why they put air fresheners everywhere, so the rooms smell like restrooms. The bathrooms were dirty. The guy at the reception was rude and creepy. Frankly, I got the impression that it's not a very safe place. Wouldn't recommend it.

If u re looking for just one night stand hostel and you want to sleep, this hostel is very good option. Another good quality of this hostel is subway station at 110th street. They provide wifi and hot water. Rooms are not clean enough and they smell weird.

I stayed here for 5 nights in a row and at first I didn't like it just because of the location. It was further out from the centre than I thought but a bonus is the subway station is only a block away! After staying a night I settled in and got used to the area. Most of the staff are really helpful and nice, and the hostel is really homely. They even have hostel pets!! The rooms were small but clean and bathrooms were on every floor. If you want somewhere cheap but still decent then choose this hostel :)

I stayed 1 night in this hostel. The location is just 2mn walk from the 110st metro station. That's the good point. The rooms are not very clean like the rest of the hostel... It's also a old building, like many in NY... So difficult to find a good place in this city... The staff is okay. The price is okay for the location, but far from the best hostel I ever been. It's okay if you don't care of the cleanliness and just need a place where sleep.

For the price this hostel is not worth it! The staff were not helpful. My assigned locker didn't have a door on it. There were no other storage facilities. Bags had to be in the lobby. The bathrooms were dirty. Over my 3 days there i managed to have one hot shower the rest of the time they were cold. The wifi didn't work in the room as it says on the website. The kitchen was also filthy. The food I left in the fridge was half eaten by the morning. Don't stay here!

The manhattan hostel is close to the subway and u get to midtown manhattan pretty fast. The entrance is not really to see the first time. The staff was really nice and helpful. The rooms were kinda small but enough. If don't wanna spend much money and u like to stay in hostel. This is a good one. Nice people, enough bathrooms and close to midtown manhattan.

I really liked the place even though it was in a shady area. But the staff were very friendly especially Marco who was nice to me and told me a lot about Jesus on my first night there :) the staff try to help the guests find their way around the city if they're new and they just spend a lot of time with everyone there. It was a nice experience.

Unlike other reviewer, my stay was pretty nice EXCEPT for the terrible cold shower (it was freaking cold by then in NYC)! They provided sufficient information about getting there and away, the hostel owner was nice, they have common area with TV, the wi-fi worked well. It's also nicely located near 110th subway station in line 6, couple of blocks from the Central Park (of course the northern side of it), and right next to a 'farmer' minimart. I didn't sleep there at my second day and haven't extended the room but they didn't disturb my bed and my belongings were safe. Would recommend this hostel for skinny wallets who stay for a short period and do not mind showering in the cold or not showering at all during the stay.

PROS close to a subway station (6 service) Loads of places to eat nearby Cheap 24hour front desk CONS Dirty Run down Staff are not interested in you. To be fair this is a dirt cheap hostel compared to a lot of places in nyc. This hostel has everything you would need for a short visit. Only 8 bathrooms in the building, all of which are shared. I did not use/visit the kitchen Rooms are accessed by numerical code( not keys or cards) Front door is buzzer operated. You literally get what you pay for. A bed and some linens. Other guests are friendly Lockers are available- 5$ for a lock though

This hostel was a surprise and a disappointment. I've stayed in many hostels and always had at least a satisfactory experience. This was the exception. It was difficult to locate because the door is unmarked. The location is slightly dodgy. It was dirty and disorganized. My sister and I were unable to lock the door to our dorm because they don't provide a lock and keys! The kitchen and bathrooms were not well cleaned or maintained. The "lockers" were flimsy and easily broken as was the furniture. It also appears to be very understaffed. Will never return. Even if you get what you pay for, this was not worth it. NYC is full of far better budget options.

This hostel is the worst I have stayed in. It's dirty, cramped, the owners are rude and the whole place needs doing up, decorating and being cleaned. The location is good as it's a 2 minute walk to the subway however I did not feel very safe in the area. You are not given a key to the hostel you just buzz in and the owners let anyone in which isn't safe. The rooms do not lock again which is not safe. The rooms are cramped and they put far to many beds in the room. There is no air conditioning in the room it gets very hot and uncomfortable. The toilets are so dirty and got flooded everytime someone showered. Never ever book to stay here it's gross,
