A great bar near the old Fulton Fish Market with a great tap list, great brunch and great bloody Mary's.

Fresh Salt, a non-douchey little spot right by the South Street seaport, serves up a killer happy hour deal from 4 to 8 p.m., with drafts and well drinks running only $4—a far cry from the high-and-mightier happy hour spots lining nearby Stone Street.

I stumbled across the area when I came down to but Broadway tickets from the South Seaport Booth. It's a lovely area with lots of food options.I chose Fresh Salt as they had good sandwich options. The sandwich was delicious and the service was efficient.

We stumbled upon Fresh Salt by accident, om our way to see the Brooklyn Bridge by night. Luckily it was happy hour, which provided us with 2 good Bronx IPA's for 10 bucks. Inside it was a nice classic looking bar/pub with an easy going atmosphere. They also played some pretty good music

This place is near Fulton Market and South Street but also fairly convenient for 9/11 Memorial and Wall Street. We noticed it was very popular with local office workers too so worth going outside the peak lunch time. We sat outside and had a very nice (i.e. not overpowering in size) sandwich from a good range of choice - this comes with either salad or crisps (chips). The inside is very atmospheric - very good for a wintry day.

I had their excellent Italian sandwich and some very good coffee. Service was good, and the place was quiet and welcoming.

This tiny little place was the perfect spot to meet friends for a drink. The cocktails were made well by the attentive bartender. I didn't try the food but the aroma was amazing.

We were looking for a venue to hold a 25 person wedding party downtown and are so happy we picked Fresh Salt! From the first email inquiry, the team at Fresh Salt was easy to work with and prompt! They worked with our needs providing a lot of different options for spaces and prices! The customer service was top notch, which was super helpful since we picked it sight-unseen! I highly recommend anyone else to also pick it for your wedding, party or after work get together. Our guests kept commenting on how quintessential New York Fresh Salt is! It has a great vibe! The service was impeccable and professional. And the food was so yummy! We pre-ordered hummus platter, antipasto platter and artichoke dip plus three plates of sandwiches, which was all delicious and way more food than we needed! Definitely order the Salt sandwich - crowd pleaser!! I can't thank the staff enough for making our night beyond special!! I would give them six stars if I could!

We ate lunch here because many places near Fulton Market were still closed evidently from (long ago) Hurricane Sandy. It's a cute, tiny place with fun decor, wobbly little tables, and a small menu. The bathroom was tiny but truly spotless. The hostess was rude. The waitress was only a bit nicer but uninformed: she didn't remember all the specials nor did she seem too motivated to find them out. The artichoke dip, which was the only excellent dish, took 25 minutes even though restaurant was completely empty. My meatloaf sandwich was on a nice crisp bun and was good. Potato salad needed salt but was good, not great. The homemade mac and cheese was very good. I would not return. Though it is a decent place.

Tiny place at the seaport. Cobble Stone Streets and late night drinks. Open till 4am everyday and always has a bartender on duty that'll pour your drink and lend an ear.

We ate here during a walk through of South Street Seaport. The restaurant is tiny with small groupings of tables. Our waitress was great and the food was good. The menu is limited but what we had fit the bill perfectly. We had the macaroni and cheese with a side salad and the speck with brie and figs on ciabatta (excellent!) Neat little place to visit.

We really enjoyed this place which is really a bar with food. But the food and service is good. However the cocktails are great. Worth the 2 min walk from South Seaport

Four of us visited Fresh Salt for lunch as we were in the area. We were all happy with the food; the homemade mac and cheese was a standout! Hummus platter was the only negative food note; bland. Friendly but noisy atmosphere, and quite busy--I can understand why as it's a good everyday lunch type place.

On chilly March afternoon, this was a most welcome and welcoming stopover, with fabulous brunch options as well as extremely palatable and satisfying Bloody Marys. Expect to walk out of here well-fed and slightly tipsy.

We were wandering south seaport area. Many places closed because of road/sewer/water? construction. We came upon fresh salt. it is in a old building. Fixed up very nicely, a genuine old pub. Great food and service.

If you want old world New York charm this is the place to go. After walking for a good few hours we stumbled upon Fresh Salt and what a welcome relief it was. On a very hot day we sat outside and had beers and cheese melts. The beer was nice and cold and the melts were really tasty. We spent a couple of hours here watching the world go by. It is down a side street and there is a lot of work going on but it was bliss to eat and drink and rest our feet!! The staff were really friendly and when we asked a few questions about the area they were very informative. Would go out of our way to visit this place. Loved it!!

We went on line looking for a restaurant close to WTC memorial. The Salt website was inviting. We took a chance and were delighted. Wonderful ambiance and lunch was perfect. Lovely waitress. Would recommend.

A nice little cozy spot for lunch and drink. Tasted several different sandwiches, they're all delicious and freshly made. We will definitely go there often.

We went to Fresh Salt with our 6 kids last week, and it was great. The seating area is small, so we were a little worried they wouldn't be able to seat us, but the waitress, who was also the hostess, went out of her way to accommodate us. There was something for everyone on the menu, and everyone in our group loved their food. The only thing that could top the amazing food was the amazing service. Our waitress was very friendly and despite being slammed with customers, she pleasantly answered our questions and made sure to check on us frequently. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes an "off the beaten path" cafe with lots of fresh food options. Also, as a side-note, we loved the overall vibe (music, decor, etc.).

Having discovered that South Street Seaport is closed, we wanted to find somewhere nearby for a light lunch quickly as it was raining. Came across this place and were very impressed. Excellent service, good food in moderate portions. Just what we wanted
