Little high $$, but it is NYC. Had the Dukes half chicken and two sides - went back twice. Deep fried buffalo chicken sandwich second time - not very good. Half chicken was fantastic.

Super friendly staff, great food for a midnight snack after a long day. Fab drinks promos for when you need a little help along the way

This place is just incredible. We stumbled upon this place on our recent visit to New York, we were looking for somewhere more euthentic to have dinner instead of your usual chain style restuarants & boy did we stike it lucky with this one. Make sure you're really hungry because the meals are huge, if you're into fine dining then keep walking cause this is not your place, but if you're like us & enjoy good honest pub meals then you won't be dissapointed. The staff here were very friendly & accomodating & the atmosphere was just as you would expect in a neighbourhood bar. They had a great selection of beers & plenty of TV's around the place to catch up on all the latest sport. Check it out next time you're in Midtown.

Ordered burger with mashed potatoes, received french fries and when I asked for another lemonade, never arrived! Ordered Buffalo chicken wing but without the sauce! Music too loud and can't chat without shouting.

Food was good and portion sizes were huge. TVs on every available wall space showing every sport you can think of. Noisy enough, so not the place for an initimate meal if thats what you're looking for.

Me and a group of friends booked a table at dukes on OpenTable kind of last minute for a Sunday bottomless brunch and they had an opening so we took it. We arrive there Sunday morning and the restaurant is empty. We are the only people in the place and the service was unbelievably bad. First off it took roughly 15 minutes to get water. Then another 15 before we could even order food, and by this point we were so turned off we did not order bottomless. Then the food took another 30 minutes (despite being literally the only people in the restaurant). Eventually food arrives and its COLD. I can not express how dissatisfied we were. Then after we clearly are not eating our food, the waitress clears the table and doesn't come back for another 20 minutes. We had to get up and go to the counter to request our check because she was just sitting there. I was a waiter and I can say with complete honesty that this was possibly the worst service I have ever had.

I must admit that the brisket was really good, way above what i expected! The rest was exactly like what you should expect from a place like the duke's; which is perfectly fine and honest. The beers on tap are disappointing though. And a margarita at $12 is steep.

Duke's has really good food and in large sizes. The drinks here are really good as well, with half-off daily specials. The waiters were super friendly but I know that when it gets busy, you might be waiting just a tad bit. The half chicken bbq is great, the chicken and waffles are great, as well as their desserts so I think think you'll be disappointed with anything else on the menu.

Who doesn't like barbecue? Stopped for lunch and decided to enjoy the outdoor seating. Big mistake for a couple of reasons. It took at least 10 minutes for the server to finally show up with a menu and greeting. Then she wanted my credit card to hold until I was ready to pay at the end of lunch. I negotiated holding some cash instead. She took a while to return to take my order of a salad. Then the salad took at least 20 minutes to appear. Wow! Brutal service for the food and waiting on the table. The salad was mediocre at best. Too much dressing and not enough of the more expensive ingredients. Won't be back. The place wasn't very busy either so that should have been my warning.

What I liked about Duke's was that they had Mets and Yankees banners hung up everywhere! They also do have outdoor seating, but note that it's pretty cramped. The staff were great, and the pulled pork sandwich was just ok. I also had the pulled pork Mac and cheese (yes, I am a pulled pork nut) and the Mac and cheese was a little bland, like it was more macaroni than cheese.

Great little Bar & Grill. Hearty servings and tasty food at reasonable prices. Fantastic sports bar atmosphere with TVs and loud music - not for young families. Gets very busy on weekday nights and Saturdays - Sunday is quietest. Reasonably priced drinks too. Been here 3 times in 10 days and haven't been disappointed yet.

We went to Duke's for my birthday because we wanted a BBQ dinner. It was a Monday, and the place was kinda empty. We chose to sit inside, but if you want a street experience, there are outside tables available. We started with a beer. I had the shrimp and cheesy grits, my husband had the ribs with sides of sweet potato fries, string beans and cole slaw. All the food was tasty, and we had very attentive service from Maryna. We had mentioned that it was my birthday and after clearing the table, Maryna brought me an ice cream dessert complete with lit birthday candle. All of these are positives. On certain days of the week, the restaurant hosts trivia nights, which are fun. The negatives include a limited selection of beer (though there are specialty cocktails on different days), and the music (recorded) was very loud, making it difficult to hear each other even though few people inside.

Stopped for lunch. Prices were good for area. The tv's were turned up so loud you couldn't converse with your tablemates. The staff were friendly. The food wasn't very good. Would not go back.

Average BBQ (we had KC ribs and brisket). Neither dish was very special. We also had a couple of overpriced drinks. We did have one great side though, the cheese grits. We did not have wings, which the restaurant claims to have won awards Duke's offers a fun, cheesy atmosphere with sports on TV that you can even see when outside. A lot of folks stopped to see the Evil Empire-White Sox game from the sidewalk which is above the seating area so it was odd being hovered over as we ate dinner Service was good at some tables as we could observe, we just happened to get an inattentive waitress. If you really need an outdoor seat, this place can do although the food is just average. On certain days, that is a reasonable tradeoff

Our family of 5 ate dinner here on a Saturday night in late March 2017. For about 5 PM on a Saturday night, the place was less than half full. My fried chicken dinner with grits, beans, and cornbread was very good. My wife's salad was OK according to her. My 3 kids (2 teens and 1 almost teen) each ordered their 'go to' foods; mac 'n cheese, bacon cheeseburger with fries, and a regular cheeseburger with fries. All 3 ate less than 1/4 of their meals because according to them, the food just did not taste very well. I then tasted each of their meals and somewhat agreed. Could not put my finger on it, but something on each of their meals just did not taste right. Their soda drinks were never refilled in the hour plus we were there, and the server; although pleasant enough, didn't really stand out as being overly nice, etc. Maybe we were just out of our element. As a family of 5 (i.e. 2 - 40 something year old people plus 3 kids in their early / mid teens); we felt out of place. This was our 1st time in NYC and our 1st meal in NYC as well - maybe this had something to do with it - idk. The music / overall atmosphere of the restaurant was so ridiculously loud that we could not hear each other talk even when we were shouting at each other whether across the table or to the person next to us. The decor of the restaurant was cool, but we could not literally hear ourselves think at all. Being a sports fan, the numerous TVs throughout the restaurant were kind of neat ....

Visited a few times and found the food surprisingly good for informal dining. Drinks were good and not over priced and the general vibe was good. lots of sports screens to watch and really nice staff.

We visited at approx 8pm on a Sunday evening. We booked a table via the internet but didn't need to as there were only a few tables being used. The decor in here was great, lots of memorabilia to look at whilst you are waiting for your meal and a general happy feeling type of place. They had tv's on all the time and music playing in the background. I also liked the pots of trivial pursuit cards on the tables that kept our teenagers amused for ages . The service was good however the food was a bit disappointing. The portions were massive, the burgers looked good, however my husband and I ordered the ribs and they were very disappointing. You were given a massive rack of ribs which were described on the extensive menu as "fall off the bone". This was not the case. I had to use a knife and fork to cut a rib off the rack and then a knife to get it off of the bone. So disappointed with how tough they were that I left two thirds of them. I would visit here again but i would be very careful with what I ordered to eat.

We found this place on our wandering travels and after about 10 minutes deliberation between 4 of us, decided to go in for our evening meal. My mum who is generally fussy had the burger and enjoyed it, I have the mac'n'cheese which was delicious, my husband and step dad both had a variety of the beef brisket and said it was absolutely lovely. From the outside it does look like a roadhouse diner but I would recommend anyone goes in for a bite to eat as the food is amazing.
