Omg- don't stroll- run to this place! Everything we had here was amazing! It's low key, the food is kinda fusion.

It's a chuck-and-brisket patty with barbecue mayo, raw red onions, smoked Cheddar, pickled cucumbers, and shoestring potatoes on a potato roll.

My husband and I have been here 3 times and we love it. It is a tight fit but we don't mind! Each time we have had the Fedora burger and each time it's delicious. We had Dustin as our waiter this last time and he is amazing, our water glasses were never empty, and neither were our drinking glasses! He was so attentive and helpful! The host too is just great, so many people waiting to get in and he remembered our names, updated us as to how much longer the wait would be, truly has an attention to detail. You can not go wrong here!

I had a very long layover at Newark so I came into the City to kill some time and eat lunch. I wanted to be able to walk from Penn Station, but get some exercise before a long flight. Bar Sardine was perfect, I came in just as they were opening, so I had the bartender's full attention. I had the great burger, I mean it is great, probably 1500 calories, but great. The bartender was fun to talk to and made me a fabulous old fashioned with maple syrup.

I came here for brunch/a light snack while I was visiting New York with friends. As a vegetarian there wasn't too much on the menu for me to eat but I'm not fussy and as long as I have something cooked nicely, I'm happy. I ordered the goats cheese and honey dish, a side of fries with aioli and one of the many different bloody mary's they offer (mine came with a beer, yay). I wasnt let down by anything, I absolutely loved the goats cheese dish, great quality cheese and honey, and it came with some very nice bread. The fries were cooked perfectly and the aioli dip was lovely. The bloody mary was just what I was after. My friends ordered a variety of things from oysters to burgers and were all very happy. The only thing was it was a bit pricey compared to the size of what you got but we all agreed that the quality of what we got warranted the price. The barman who took our orders and made our drinks was lovely, he was chatty, polite, charming and just super nice. I would definitely return!

Had trouble finding this on Trip Advisor since the website and front doors of the restaurant state "Bar Sardine", not "Chez Sardine." Anyway, this is a totally charming little bar/restaurant in West Village. Emphasis on small as there are two tables, and then stools at the bar, and along the windows. Maybe 20 barstools total. Don't expect to bring a party of 15 here. :) There were three of us and we ate at the bar. Friendly service all around. Nice selection of cocktails and wines. Would have loved more of a variety of beers on draught...heavy on IPA and hoppy beers. Food: we were told by a friend that Bar Sardine has the best burger in the city, so we had to try. There were 3 in our party, so we split 2 burgers and one order of fries. We licked our plates clean. The burger is not your typical burger with mustard, lettuce, and tomato. This one has crispy potatoes, BBQ mayo, and cucumbers (!). Delicious! Such a darling place with great food....I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to NYC. Just be prepared to wait for a table. Oh, and save room for the ice cream shop that's around the corner!

Small upscale neighborhood bar with oysters, cool drinks and the very best burger in NYC. Come, imbibe and occasionally see a low key celebrity.

We stopped by with my friend on the way to Smalls Jazz Club, and were surprised to find a selection of top notch dishes, real artisan salads, - all looks great, and is healthy too! Highly recommend

We found this place whilst having a wander around Greenwich Village and finding that the Stonewall wasn't open until 2pm. What started as a drink ended up as a delicious casual lunch - the staff were hugely welcoming and friendly, the wine and beer delicious, and the food fabulous! We shared between two of us a burger, the seasonal vegetables, the lamb meatballs and the fries. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection - we were delighted. Would happily come back here next time we're in NYC (though the prices make it not an everyday lunch venue!)

Tiny local bar with a surprisingly interesting menu. Our daughter lives nearby, our first night together, so we went for a local coctail before heading off to a restaurant for dinner. To sit we had to order something to eat. Ok, started light sharing a Burrata and peach sprinkled with almond slivers on a slab of fresh levain. Killed it, then ordered one watermellon salad to share. Whoosh! Started losing our excitement for the intended restaurant, but first had to finish our concktails. Some fries please. Well, what good are great fries by themselves? We ordered ONE burger, no bun (gluten free). We really slowed down for that, because every morsel was wonderful. What makes delicious food even better? The service staff, of course. They were engaging, fun (gross understatement). When they learned we were visiting from San Francisco, the bartender made a short coctail for the three of us, himself and all of the wait staff to share. Properly welcomed we were. Never made it to the other restaurant.

Chez Sardine is a little gem, in the middle of Greenwich village. I went there with my friend after walking in the city for the whole morning and that was the perfect place to relax, chill and had some cocktails. The waiter suggested that we take the oyster platter and so we did - and we ordered another one! A must-visit if you ever find yourself wandering in this part of town.

The only downside is how small the place is, but that's the whole point. Actually, once seated, it didn't feel as small as it is, but maybe that was because we were at the window facing out, so if you can, snag one of those spots. They have one of the most delicious burgers I've ever had. I don't usually like cheeseburgers, but this is perfectly crafted as is, so don't mess with the toppings! I had a really interesting cocktail, the Puerto del Sol which was sweet and spicy at the same time. It's a bit pricey for the size of the drinks though.

Only tried the drinks here so not sure about the food but a cute little spot, went after dinner for a drink. Excellently made Moscow Mules and Old Fashiond cocktails.

Really nice place to stop for a drink. We were full from spending time at the market earlier so only stopped for a glass of wine. The service was good and the setting is nice. Sitting with large open windows overlooking the street was great.

Great little place. Stumbled on it one Friday night. No seats available, but the host was very nice and gave us a menu, so we walked a bit read the menu, came back and had a seat at the bar. The bar tenders knew their trade. Apps good and creative. We both had the Fedora Burger and have to say it was very very good, (recommended by the bar tender). Go for it.

On the corner of West 10th and 4th you'll be seated looking into the street when having drinks. When you have dinner you'll be at the bar. Nice selection of beers, service very friendly but can be a bit clumsy.

The drinks were amazing. We here for brunch and had an orangeade and gin and tonic which were both really good. I ordered their french toast with peach and almond. Have to say they made the best french toast I've ever tasted. The service was great, our waitress was incredibly friendly. Will definitely come back.
