Had the convenience to reserve through Opentable via TripAdvisor Took outside seating Inside was very load and unbearable We were promptly greeted and seated Took the chips as appetizer and the Blue Smoke ale Both were tasty 7 pepper beef brisket was tasty Yet the smoked rib was chewy Certainly not Southern BBQ and grill style and doneness We will call it northeast BBQ Friendly service

Firstly they make the best long Island Iced Tea I have had in a very long time, so thats a big positive for me! On the negative side the menu pricing structure is odd and all the sides appeared to have been $10 each, which for coleslaw is a little over the top. The food was cooked well and was tasty and the restaurant and bar was friendly and lively and the service attentive and helpful. For me it was a little pricey and i may only go back for the excellent LIIT's in future.

Nicely done BBQ and comfort food. Burgers, Mac and cheese, BBQ, collard greens, biscuits etc. The strawberry lemonade with basil is very refreshing and a perfect compliment to the brisket. The must have are the chicken wings. Do not go home without ordering the chicken wings!! They are not your typical hot sauce wings, they are very different but great. The fries were also amazingly good. The grape popsicle was a good idea but didn't have a pleasant flavor.

Stopped there yesterday after city hall ceremonies and wedding formalities. The reception was fantastic and the head waitress took care to arrange a large table for us. The staff was very attentive with their consistent follow up with our requests and drinks. The food was very tasty and managed to get few starters free for the kids. Everyone had a blast. The atmosphere was just right and all enjoyed their time. Honestly I would seriously recommend you try Blue Smoke and I can guarantee you will have a fantastic time and lots of great food and drinks. Will definitely visit again shortly.

We were looking for sth to eat, no fast food etc. And we had enough time until our entry to the WTC. So we found the Blue smoke, where you can sit inside and outside (we chose outside, because of the weather and the NY atmosphere :-) We both had the baby back ribs with sweet potato mash, some coleslaw and a cherry lemonade and a dessert. The restaurant is very clean, nice people around, the waiter we had was very friendly and sympathetic, the food was very good. Not too expensive (especially for that area). Would come again, if I would travel to NYC again

We were looking for a place within short walking distance of the 9-11 memorial and museum, for some lunch--stopped in to Blue Smoke and it didn't disappoint! Service was good, my daughter loved to decorate her own cookie while waiting...nice touch! Husband and I split some pulled pork and brisket with mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! We enjoyed it so much, we came again later that night for some dessert and drinks for happy hour!

We walked by after visiting the Freedom Tower, stopping for dinner. The kid menu rocks, along with the distractions. Wiki sticks and cookies to decorate that they then bake for you. Vegetarian and carnivore options for kids, awesome. Kids want to come back tomorrow.

Blue Smoke is a wonderful BBQ and southern style restaurant. We had booked in advance as we were travelling from Ireland and we were not disappointed. All of the food we tried was beautiful but their buttermilk biscuits and sweet potato mash deserve special praise! Their ribs were stunning. Juicy, tender and flavoursome. If you are in the area a visit to Blue Smoke is a must. The restaurant is well designed, plenty of space between tables and a very relaxed vibe. Excellent background music and very relaxing.

Went there during happy hour and a premium pint for $5 is pretty darn good for NYC. Get a couple different entrees and share. You'll only need to share one side unless you have really big appetites. The hamburger is also very tasty and you can also share that unless you are young or very big.

I went to blue smoke for lunch. Had a beef that was good but I'd highlight the mash potato. Very good. Staff was nice and helpful.

Went here for lunch during a family adventure day just before walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. During our week there I wanted to go to at least one of Danny Meyer's restaurants- I have read his book and attended a lecture about hospitality given by one of his executives. Plus my son is bbq fan, and I liked the Southern food menu. Definitely did not disappoint- as I expected, a lot of little things and attention to detail really made the experience. Great kids menu and they gave the kids a neat little craft as well as cookie dough to decorate that they baked for us as our dessert. Everything from menu paper, napkins, staff uniforms, restrooms were very clean and crisp. Server was friendly and manager engaged with us in a thoughtful way. Food was fantastic- some of the best collared greens I have ever had.

Dinner at Blue Smoke is now a 'must' on our visits to NYC. We started to use the Battery Park location because it was near to our hotel, but now we prefer it to the other location. Nothing wrong with the other restaurant. We just like this better. Dylan the General Manager runs a tight ship and knows how to deliver a good dining experience. All the staff are fast, efficient give the impression they are enjoying being at work and meeting customers. We live in North Carolina so we know good 'smoke' when we see, smell and taste it .... We shared a full rack of ribs and you would have to travel far and wide in the south to find anything better. The coconut cake is a southern dessert staple of course ... but these guys have finessed and enhanced it just enough to take it to another level. Don't miss it. This place is not just good .... it's consistently good and that's the test of a restaurant that deserves all the positive comments and reviews it generates.

We came here for a birthday party with a group of 7 on a weekday and booked ahead to ensure we got a table. It was really busy when we arrived at 8:30PM but cleared out by 10. The staff were accommodating and friendly. They ran out of a lot of popular dishes so I'd advise to come earlier. The chicken wings were 50c a piece and had a delicious soy based marinade on them. The meat was stand out, big portions. The sides were only ok...sweat potatoes were not to my taste as it was overloaded with syrup. The mac and cheese was good, cream based. It's the type of meal you feel sick after because its so much food. If you go, share a main and starter. It's just so much food!

We found ourselves in Manhattan unexpectedly the night before my birthday. It was a Saturday night and we had no plans, no reservations, and no expectations. We were thrilled to be able to make a last minute reservation at Blue Smoke and we loved our experience. Our server was an absolute gem and the made to order cornbread Madeleines were amaaaaazing. Get them. You won't be sorry! Our burgers were huge, cooked to perfection, and LOADED with bacon. Delicious! We would love to return someday!

Not sure why this place only has three stars. For Manhattan it's unbelievable barbecue, for anywhere else it's pretty darn good and the prices are not crazy considering where you are right next to the World Trade Center and all of the tourist trap locations nearby. We ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich and the beef brisket sandwich. Both were very large and could be shared with a side dish and have enough food for two. Each sandwich is served with about eight or 10 in-house fried potato chips which were well seasoned, crispy and slightly brown. The five dollar side of collared greens was easily a cup and a half or more - a very good value. It had a good tang, lots of chopped beef brisket and was very tender. The brisket sandwich itself was very tender and if you're a purist make sure you ask them to leave off the shredded lettuce tomato and mayonnaise. They do have barbecue sauce available and it is a thin, but slightly sweet and spicy version. Nice beers on tap and a very pleasant ambience. So much better than those fast casual walk up and order barbecue places that seem to be the norm for that type of cuisine.
