An Iconic breakfast spot. An iconic BEC bagel. Start your morning the right way. RFN.

This NYC icon has (arguably) the #1 bagel sandwich in the city. But you can be the judge of that RFN. (Black Seed Bagels, Opens at 7am) photo credit: @edeneats

Hip, tiny shop featuring hand-rolled Montreal style bagels and a wide array of homemade fillings and spreads. The egg, avocado, tomato and cheese does not disappoint. Come back late night for their pizza bagels.

New favorite bagel spot. Lighter than the traditional dough balls you find at Tal or the old H&H. Real draw are the shmeres

The No. 3 sandwich (tobiko spread, salmon, butter lettuce); radish salad; toasted sesame bagel with butter and smoked trout (a.k.a., the Canadian Classic).

Our favorite of the bunch is the meaty smoked rainbow trout, which flakes like kippered salmon but with a much gentler flavor. As these are Montreal-style rounds, sesame is a safe and delicious bet.

Came here for sandwiches to go. Lightening speed service. Bagels were fresh and delicious. Reminded me of Montreal bagels. Enjoyed a tuna sandwich and the tofu herb spread. Will be back.

This place definitely lives up to its reputation. They offer all sorts of bagels and roll sandwiches with both savory and sweet options. The bagels are fresh, soft and chewy. Would recommend stopping early in the day to avoid getting your bagel toasted. The Classic BEC is to die for. Not my favorite bagel place in the city, but definitely in the top 5. Would be great if they offered different sweet spreads w/o the sandwich option.

So glad to have heard about and visited Black Seed Bagels - twice in 3 days!!! Bagels are superb - chewy and a little crispy. Decadent fresh cream cheeses and the almond butter is just that, crushed almonds mixed with butter. 😋

In a city known for its bagels, this is our favorite spot. Hand rolled bagels made fresh daily in the back of the house. Delicious sandwich combinations. Can't get enough of these bagels.

Atmosphere is cool. Everyone loved their bagels in our group. One in our party came back the next day to get the egg sandwich again. I ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese. It came out a bit too charred for my taste. All the goodies on the outside turned out black. The bagel had nice texture but was on the small side. The next day I ordered a sesame and it was toasted perfectly.

A small and nice bagelshop. The variety is great (also for vegetarians). Furthermore the price is reasonable.

Great food, fast service, but priced a little steep. 10.75 for a bacon egg and cheese bagel! Really good bagels though. Delicious.

I've only ever had Black Seed delivered but they have my most favorite bagel sandwich ever. And as a bagel connoisseur, that's saying something. Their deliveries are quick (this morning I received my order in about 20 minutes) and the bagels arrive hot and perfect. Also, being vegetarian, I've been frustrated by the lack of great bagel sandwiches other than BEC's so finding a place like Black Seed that does great vegetarian options has been fantastic. It's not your standard egg and cheese (although they have that too!) The bagels are not oversized, they are less 'doughy' than other places and they give a very generous serving of your sandwich choices. Their breakfasts have kept me full through most of the work day! My favorite order is "The Boca" (bagel with egg, cheese, avocado and tomato)!

Went here for breakfast and I was definitely not disappointed. While the bagels are smaller than usual here they more than make up for it with the amount of filling they put in them. A varied selection but I went for the classic smoked salmon and it was very good. Some of the best coffee in town too (Stumptown).

We were told to these are Canadian type bagels, as they are distinctively different from the standard NYC variety. But I want to know why you want to mess with something that's already near perfect! I get that this is a trendy, new approach as they dip the bagels into honey sweeten water prior to baking in a wood fired oven. And the results are a more tender, softer interior and a lighter crust. But, well .... I'm a stickler for tradition and will always prefer the New York standard bagel from Zabars or H&H. These aren't bad, but newer ain't always better!

Montreal bagels are denser, sweeter and a bit smaller than New York bagels. They're my favourite. Black Seed Bagels adds some creativity to their bagels with great sandwich choices: whitefish or trout or tobiko and a few others I'll be back to try. Their cream cheese spread is rich, smooth and creamy. Their pickles are perfect and their bagels are made with a heritage strain of wheat. Friendly service and more on the menu when you get there.

I already have a favorite bagel joint but always willing to try new ones. They have extensive menu. Friendly service. Bagels are smaller than most places and more expensive. I found it too chewy for my liking.

Generally, must visit foodie destinations fall short of the mark. This is definitely npt the case with Black Seed. Friendly staff, cozy comfortable atmosphere and though I only had one... simply amazimg Bagels! Tip: #1 Salmon on Multi-Everything.

Slightly smaller than usual bagels (as written on their website), but taste great - lox bagel was the winner!

We went here nearly every morning of our holiday! Amazing fresh bagels, really generous fillings. Everything about this place is great! The price tag is a little steep but as we were on holiday it didn't bother us too much!

We made our way to this bagel spot after seeing endless tantalizing photos on Instagram. Fabulous bagel eatery serving a variety of bagels and sandwich topping choices. It's hard to choose from the specials and selection. The chicken salad on everything bagel hit the spot and the melted egg avocado cheddar bagel sandwiches are amazing. Walking in you smell the delish aroma of fresh baked bagels. Great breakfast and lunch spot if you are taking out or sitting in. Was everything I thought it would be! Will be back next time visiting NYC.

My husband had heard such good things about Black Seed Bagels and was dying to try one to see how it compared with Zuckers and Murray's. The Sesame Seed Bagel was stale and tasted like yesterday's stock. After a few bites, it went straight in the trash.
