During the colder months, the 4,500-square-foot drinkery is a cozy greenhouse, but as the weather warms, the panes of glass open to reveal spectacular views of the Flatiron Building.

Stopped by on a beautiful Friday afternoon to have a glass of wine after a meeting was canceled. Turns out it was packed - at least the bar area. Was able to get a drink pretty quickly but it turned out to be room temperature. This is supposed to be a pop-up restaurant that feels like a beach, so maybe that was part of the theme.

Good food with fresh italian products as you could expect in Eataly. We had different plates to share and everything was good (including the oysters). Service is great as well. I gave only 4 stars because the wine was a little disappointing and the rooftop is not as spectacular as you could expect.

Even though the restaurant is on the roof, you don't really feel like you are on the roof. There are so many sunshades and other things to block your view, it's not so evident. That being said, the staff was friendly, the food was great, we had a good time, and would return again.

This rooftop restaurant was more casual than expected. We had reservations and were seated promptly but the service was quite slow. Food was good but pricey. The menu was limited for entrees. It would have been better to go there more for drinks and appetizers. While their shop downstairs has a gelato bar there were only three flavors in the restaurant to choose from; chocolate, vanilla or lemon.

Made reservations couple weeks in advance for 6 people, and we had a nice table on the far side of the rooftop with some privacy. Waitress was very friendly, food was excellent (oysters, spreads, salads, shrimp skewers, pastas, desserts) and wine selection was good. Portions are not that large so be sure to order and spend a lot. Fun atmosphere, even bus boys were enthusiastic. We had a great time.

Very nice atmosphere, lovely rooftop dining. I didn't realize that the menu items aren't full meals. However, what we ordered was very tasty. We ordered a beef that was supposed to be stuffed with cheese, I can't recall the name, but it was "something cheese bomb", so imagine our surprise when neither of us tasted a smidge of cheese. We ordered two orders of shrimp skewers, again they were tasty, but not much of them. While I realize it's expensive to eat in NYC, I just expected a wee bit more. We were disappointed when frose was not available, our main reasoning for dining here. We did order the drink that was on special (again, I cannot recall the name, but a very small portion was donated to charity.. I think $.50 of the $17.00 cost). Once again, the drink was very small and fir $17, I hoped for more. In the end, I'd probably return, but with a better knowledge of what to expect. Our waitress was fabulous!

Came here with friends for dinner; there were six of us so we ordered a wide-spread of food and everything was delicious. We sampled three cheeses (asiago, gorgonzola, and ricotta), sopressata, foccocia, and bruchetta campania. We also each ordered a meal: the seafood pasta dish was cooked to perfection! The noodles were al dente and the sauce was great. Others ordered the steak and the swordfish and everyone enjoyed those as well. The steak was served with an arugula salad and the swordfish was served in a red sauce. The servers were very pleasant. Since our dinner reservation was for 10 PM, we actually had three servers, and all were very nice and attentive. They didn't confuse any orders either despite changing of servers mid-meal. Overall we had a wonderful experience, and would definitely enjoy eating here again.

This was a great rooftop restaurant/bar to meet up with friends and enjoy the summer night air. The decor is beachy, so it makes it feel like you are in Miami or another beach city. Very fun place.

We had a drink and dinner here and it was wonderful. Pretty crowded but well worth the wait - for both the drinks and seating for dinner. The food was great - nice twist in all of our dishes. Not big portions but then we had room for dessert that we bought in the food hall!

It was a very hot day and were were seated in the shade and there was a breeze and we were comfortable. Not much of a view, but a fun setting on the rooftop of Eataly. We shared several small plates and enjoyed them all. The bruschetta sampler was tasty. The beef skewers were great. The roasted peach was good. The cheese sampler was nice. The gelato was very nice. Service was attentive and pleasant. Reservation suggested for this pop-up restaurant.

Welcome to Italy. Sabbia is a roof top bar and a restaurant on top of building close to the Flatiron Building. Don't expect a fantastic view. But food looks fantastic and the beer menue is enormous. Some of the beer variants is brewed in the restaurant. The service is friendly. all dressed in red / white shirts. It really looks like being in Venice.

Made a reservation here. Sabbia is a nice rooftop. Not much of a view, but you are outside which in the summer is nice. They did a nice job with it. But that's where the excellence ends. Italian food is good but not great. It's a really high volume and crowded space. They did a nice job of replicating slow and un-attentive Italian service...just like on the boot. Should you go and check it out? Yea. Would you go back. Nah.

We waited for 20 min for a table an a non peak hour. Waiter said they don't sell plates for kids so we'd better do somewhere else. No air condition. I thought this was a cool place. Avoid this place.

Enjoyed an early dinner here. Rooftop dining and decor is fun. Food is very good. Had the octopus and enjoyed it very much. Drinks were good too. Very busy place so service can get spotty at times and catching your waiter's attention can be challenging at times. Nonetheless, would go back to this cruise themed rooftop dining for fun on a nice day. It can get uncomfortable on a hot summer day specially if you do not like the heat.

Early dinner prior to Billy Joel concert @ MSG. We shared a fantastic summery watermelon salad with cucumbers, croutons, crumbly cheese & fresh mint - perfect as we sipped a cocktail on the rooftop of Eataly. Followed this up with a spread of bruschetta - all were excellent, but the Liguria (marinated artichokes w/ basil pesto & parmigiana Reggiano) and Campania (roasted cherry tomatoes, house made mozzarella & basil) really stood out. Place has a great vibe !!

I was very excited about this meal but left unimpressed. First of all we had a difficult time finding the elevators to it on the first floor. We had to ask a few workers who had a bit of attitude. The atmosphere was great but a tad warm which I guess can be expected at a rooftop restaurant. However, the water served was lukewarm with no ice which didn't help. The menu is a tad bit difficult to understand so review it before arriving if you can. Service was pretty slow as well. Seems like it would be a good place to go if you could spend a few hours.

Went here for the first time while visiting my kids in the city. We had gotten great reviews from friends and many people recommended the frose'. The restaurant is on the roof of Eataly and it was a great evening to be eating outside. Food was great and we are planning on going back in a couple of weeks.

Food was okay at best. Disappointed in the dismissive service and hot beer. The icing on the cake was trying to contact the restaurant afterwards. They do not return phone calls or emails. It was abundantly evident that service is not a priority at this establishment.
