I've worked here for the last 2 years. Simple & seasonal is Jonathan Waxman. Obviously his chicken is great, but don't sleep on skirt steak or braised pork ribs when on the menu. Gnocchi is tough to top. Oh, and save room for Heather Miller's desserts!

Start, as I do, with a salad, or share a pasta. Then attack the chef’s crisp-crusted signature bird, still just $19.

Really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor dining. Great location near the Standard Hotel but felt more residential. Small but concise and delicious italian fare. Amazing potatoes. Need a bigger beer list but cocktails were good. Really great service.

The best pasta dish with potato side combination ever, washed down with some great cocktails! Sat at the bar as the restaurant was so busy. Bar men really friendly and made conversation whilst we were eating.

Was recommended this place by a colleague - great food and drink and very good service. Would definitely come back again when not on my own!

This restaurant is one of our favourites in NYC! It's never been disappointing, the roast chicken is amazing, but the vegetarian options are also full of flavour, and the seeming simplicity makes them all the more elegant. It's our essential stop for lunch before leaving the city.

An unpretentious restaurant in the West Village with fabulous food and wine and a lovely patio. There are so many restaurants to choose from in NYC, but this one did not disappoint. We will be back!

Beware! The food is so good you can't stop yourself! Our family had one night in NYC this year and I had my heart set on eating at Barbuto! Well it did not disappoint. Our waiter was on top of everything all night but not bugging us in any way. We started with the yummy bruschetta and salumi platter and then between 6 of us had the steak, 2 carbonara, chicken al forno, and one pasta with butter for my youngest. Truly I started eating the carbonara and didn't want to stop and waste my time trying "chicken" but I did bc my daughter kept saying "mom you have to try this" and to my amazement it was moist and flavorful throughout the entire bird! And the my other daughter and husband kept saying I needed to try the skirt steak and and it had amazing flavor as well! We eat out all the time all over the world but have not had a meal where every single plate was sooo successful! Bravo to Chef Jonathan Waxman! Oh and by the way, he was there last night too!

We went to the Barbuto Restaurant for brunch after spending most of the morning and afternoon at the Whitney Museum. It was a Sunday and the place was very crowded but the hostess quickly found us a table for five. The drinks, the food and the service were fantastic! As busy as the place was, we never waited for anything we asked for. Our waiter was very friendly and made us feel right at home. The brunch was exceptional! The atmosphere is one of a garage with open doors for most of the wall space. It gave you the feeling of being outdoors while you were still inside. I can only say that our experience there was exceptional and would recommend it to anyone without any hesitation. The only thing I would tell you is to make a reservation in advance if you ever want to go there for diner. It was part of the fantastic experience we had all day at the Whitney and at Barbuto.

It may be Wimbledon fortnight, but seriously? This is a neighbourhood establishment with a corner plot and garage-style glass doors that fully open to the elements. A great place to hang, clearly. Glad to find it. All I asked was for a salad with a different dressing to what was noted on the menu. Allergic to garlic so asked for a simple olive oil dressing rather than anchovy/garlic. Not possible. 'This is a signature salad' I was told. Green leaves and pecorino. That's all it was. The waitress was absolutely certain that the chef would say 'no'. Everyone asks, she said. Always the same answer. Well, perhaps that tells you something. Not being the type of person that gives up, I asked eight times and eventually the waitress agrees to ask chef. No problem, she said. So a big fuss about nothing. Worth visiting? Small menu, so be careful. Least expensive glass of white wine at $16. Seriously?

This garage style restaurant opens the entire front when the weather permits, allowing for a breezy and weather dependent meal! We had the chicken which was excellent, fish of the day, and pasta - all good choices. Our server was wonderful and as there was a delay in getting our food, he ensured we had desserts on the house. The cake was wonderful - not overly sweet and plentiful. Pleasant dinner with family.

On a spring or fall day when the doors are open, there is no better place to while away an afternoon with friends. The food is always superb and the service impeccable!

It is so fun to go here on a nice night. The doors are open and ambience is great. Ask for the off the menu carbona. It's the best I ever had. The torte was so much better than I thought. The canoli was OK. Drink selection is good. The service is great.

We liked the service and food quality for dinner. The roasted chicken was excellent! The scallops and peas as well as the bruschetta with ricotta and squash were equally outstanding! Limited pasta dishes if you want that from an Italian restaurant, but the selection and quality of our entrees and appetizers was excellent. Nice wine selection from many regions, but focused on Italy. The atmosphere is great with an open air thru the entire dining area as it used to be some kind of car garage. Rustic and charming!

The food -- a grilled chicken and simple green salad were wonderful. My partner had scallops and she was very happy. The atmosphere is open... sidewalk seating as well. The service was attentive. I will definitely go back. It is a short walk from the Highline.

Came here with my sister on a trip to New York and was blown away by the amazing food! Would definitely recommend the burrata. Can't book for two people so it's difficult to get a table but we managed to get a seat at the bar no problem! The staff were really great and friendly

Celebrated with friends and family by booking the chefs table and the menu was fantastic and portions more than generous. Kind of pricey though. We paid over $130/ head inclusive of gratuity. Worth it though. Restaurant was packed and place was noisy but ambience was vibrant.

If you enjoy being in a place where you can't hear yourself think, that is the place to go to. Extremely noisy, good place to acquire a headache. The chicken is OK, but it comes by itself no added side dishes. You pay extra for salad, vegetables, etc. Expensive for what they offer.

Standard pizza place, good in that it was not a chain, but nothing exceptional about it aside from the terrible, poor-taste humour of our waiter considering we were out as a family. I pointed to a dish on the menu and asked how big the portion was and he replied 'about 11 inches'. I was pointing at a meatball dish. Not funny. The food came in reasonable time but I couldn't eat more than half of my pizza because it was much too salty. My son complained of the same. We had different pizzas so it wasn't due to a particular type. However, the waiter kindly didn't charge us for mine which I appreciate. I guess that made up for his earlier euphemistic blunder.

In an old garage, clean with great food. Finally found a good restaurant in NYC that doesn't empty your wallet
