My wife and I ate at Building on Bond with our son and daughter-in-law this past Labor Day. It was sunny and a great day for a meal outdoors, and we were in Brooklyn Heights. BoB caught our eye because it had outdoor seating, so that's where we went. We sat outdoors on a tiny, rickety table for four (small). It was just enough room, with not much to spare. The chairs had wooden seats and were a bit uncomfortable, though adequate. I didn't mind the distressed plywood look; it was cool. The menu, which the waitress called a brunch menu, was pretty sparse. There were a few breakfast items, a few lunch items, and not much more. There was one special, as I recall, a kale dish of some kind. I found myself wishing for more options. Two of us got burgers, one of us got the special, and the fourth got pumpkin pancakes. I would say all of us were pleased enough with the food, though I would not call it exceptional. I thought the three pancakes were on the smallish side. Prices were a little steep for my taste, but then again, it's New York. I did have occasion to visit the bathroom. There were two of them in different locations, I was told, and the one I used was just about the tiniest bathroom I've ever seen. It was clean enough, just REALLY tiny. Not sure I'd go back, but give it a try. The food is not bad, and if you find something on the menu you like, you'll probably be happy -- just not with the bill.

My wife and I had lunch here while we stayed in Brooklyn. The restaurant was a few blocks from our hotel. The food here is fresh and tasty. My wife had a burger, which she said was one of the better burgers she had had in a long time. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great selection of local beers on tap.

Dropped in without a reservation for lunch. Very well looked after. Great food and wine list. Love the décor!

This quaint, homely and roustic restaurant sits on a quiet block in Brooklyn. Casual Dining, inside and outside seating available. Amazing brunch (had the eggs benny with applewood smoked bacon and a pamplemousse champagne cocktail, which was delicious. My husband had the same and my mother in law had the English Breakfast. My son opted for their burger which was also pretty darn good. Service- excellent, music, light and ambiance- simply fantastic. Surprised at the bill- not as expensive for four as we thought; will be back for dinner!

This place was a find! It's a quaint neighborhood place with 3 rooms that are reminiscent of a school house. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious, hot, and fresh. Our server was Estefania Velez who is a young artist. She was incredibly helpful to us and even gave pointers to my wife on how to study oil painting. I highly recommend this place!

They are open all day with good casual dining. The bar is small, it's not a 'pub'. There are frequently events like trivia, movie night or broadcast major TV shows. It's reasonable, friendly and good quality food and drinks.

I've lived in this neighborhood for a long time and I used to come to BoB all the time, still do for the morning coffee on my walk too the subway. The food is great and the service is nice. I don't come here as often anymore but only because I'm cooking more at home. I still love coming to brunch or stopping in for a drink at the bar though.

A young environment, good bier and reasonable prices. Very nice staff and some interesting dishes. Burgers are good and their special salad, too.

We went to this place a couple of times during our stay for the breakfast, diner or à drink. Even though the menu is short, we really enjoyed the food from the coffee to the deserts which were fresh and tasty. The service is friendly and makes you feel welcome. Great place !

Great local restaurant and bar. Very welcoming and friendly with well priced and tasty food. We shared the shrimp starter which was spicy and full of flavour. The steak and fries main was about the right size which was washed down with a lovely Spanish red. Atmosphere was good and we had a lovely chat with some regular locals. Would definitely go back.

I love this neighborhood place. Every time I walk in I feel like I'm entering someone's home. From the welcoming faces of the staff to the eclectic knic-knacks on the walls, and let's not forgot about the wonderful fantastic food. The servers are all very attentive personable in their own way and know when to just leave you be to chat with your table mates. I have been there for lunch and brunch as well as take away multiple times and never have trouble getting a table either as a walk in or through open table. Not to say they are never busy they are, but they seem to be very efficient at turning their tables over. I highly recommend the Cobb salad for lunch as it has been my go to the last few visits. If you are in the area I highly recommend you check out this neighborhood gem.

I love the staff. I think that Phil hires people with interesting names. A fun group. There are some soccer fans so if you want to watch a football game there is a projection TV. Oh, but about the food and drink. I mostly go for coffee in the morning. Delightful, free Wi-Fi until 4:30 PM. Salads desserts and soups are yummy and change with the season. I've never been there in the evening, but they do serve wine and dinner.

Nothing special but a nice neighborhood place. My waiter was very nice. I was able to eat outside. It has a unique look indoors. Many people had laptops but just as many were talking with companions. I had the meatball sub and it was ok.

I was told about this place by someone I stopped on the street for a local recommendation. She directed me around the corner to Bond Street and said this place was a good bet. The restaurant has a lot of sidewalk seating and an eclectic interior space. I had their signature grilled cobb sandwich and a glass of rosé. It was both delicious and unpretentious, and an enjoyable time at a local favorite on a warm summer day.

The salad is great. I was in Brooklyn for a week in April 2016 and ate the salad twice it was so good. I didn't try the coffee on this trip. My memories of the coffee I had there in July 2013 were still too fresh. It was the worst. American coffee is the WORST! I didn't dare try again this trip. But try the salad. It was fabulous!

Designed in every detail but still gives the impression of having been there forever. Here you will find the cafe customers were preoccupied with their Macbooks and the occasional food guest. The menu for restaurant guests feel safe and right up to date on what's popular. Charred Kale Salad with Roasted Butternut Squash and Pumpkin Seeds, Flat Iron Steak, Radish, Cucumber, Pepper Relish. But not worth a long trip.

Possibly better in the evening or for brunch, but a late afternoon lunch meant that the menu was a bit restricted to dishes with lots of meat or dishes with no meat. The items we ordered were ok at best. Might not compare well with typically great NYC pub restaurants. . Atmosphere and location is lovely. Service was fine. I would go here again but not expect food to be the highlight.
