We're frequent patrons and enjoy the opportunity to update after a recent visit. Great outside picnic table seating remains a wonderful attraction all year round. Love starting off with a local hard apple cider from among the solid local brew options. Tonight we shared a fantastic brie and avocado sandwich on a perfectly crusted banquette and their baby back rib special with delicious green bean side and red potato salad. The ribs were good with an interesting tangy sauce. Next time I'd stay with the regular menu items but quality remained standard of excellence. And to finish our shared meal we had the best strawberry shortcake. Fresh local organic strawberries with not too sweet shortcake and just the right amount of freshly made whipped cream. Geer Street is a high quality food pub that has remained consistently good over many years. And service continues to be excellent. Highly recommend when visiting downtown area.

Geer St. is a happening place where you can always get a good meal. With a changing, seasonal menu and a good variety, this is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner. Also a full bar and lots of friendly staff. Try the fried green tomatoes! One of the best burgers in town.

We stopped for lunch here yesterday and found a really good fried chicken and sourdough waffle plate. The sourdough waffle was lighter than other places and the fried chicken was juicy and well presented. Complimented by pecans and butter this was an unexpected good meal.

For some reason my food didn't look as good as it does in all of the photos. It was fine, but for the price I thought it was a little overpriced. Don't go here if you want to be able to have a conversation. It's loud and funky, which is why I said I'm not cool enough for this place. The food is not bad, so if you like this type of place, go for it!

I visited with a group of friends and we were fortunate to get the one larger table inside. The food was excellent, but I will say there isn't a large selection, so hope they have something that calls to you. The atmosphere was good, not too loud since they don't accommodate many inside. Perfect for some conversation, drinks, and dinner. Parking can be tough though so go a few minutes utes early in case you need to ride around.

This restaurant is in a refurbished gas station and has a cool vibe and ambiance. I got a pimento cheese sandwich and it was possibly the best one I've ever had! It came with a substantial salad with a good vinaigrette. My friends found good beer to have. We sat inside but there is a big heated outdoor area, as well.

So, we just happened on this place when meeting at a place up the hill. Thought that one was a food place but it's really a drinking establishment. Anyway, wandered down the hill to this place. She had a salad and I ordered a turkey club. Here's what I got: - a sandwhich on lightly toasted fresh rye with fresh tomato and lettuce that was clearly just off the head. On one side was a fresh smoked turkey sliced very thin and running down the middle was a semi-peppered thick sliced bacon cooked to perfection. The rye was lightly covered with a mayo/mustard mix. Not gloppy or overpowering. And four large avocado slices filled out the sandwich. - Everything was perfectly balanced! I could taste the avocado pushing back against the acidity of the tomato. The bacon was in there agreeing with the light smokiness of the turkey. In the background was the rye playing little grace notes across my tongue. Never had a sammy like that one before. Will have to go back again and see if it was a one off or not.

I'm from out of town attending an event in the area of this restaurant and found it quite by chance. It's located in what appears to be a warehouse district in an old gas station but nicely converted. Somewhat small and cozy upon entry but they have added additional seating in a patio which is enclosed for the season. Limited menu with some unique tasty offerings. We were a group of 6 and we tried a couple of the appetizers and a variety of entrees all of which were very good. The prices were very reasonable with serving size adequate. Along with the unique food offerings they also had a unique drink and beer selection along with the standard offerings. I particularly enjoyed watching the mixologist perform her drink creations. The service was excellent and very warm and friendly. Although the place is somewhat small and was quite full, there was no rush to have us finish our meals and clear our table for space. Even after we paid our checks and were talking for awhile, we were given additional coffee and tea for probably an additional half hour. Our whole group enjoyed our time at this place and will return when we are anyway close by.

A friend and I had the special....roast pork with sweet potato Au gratin and collards. It was absolutely the most delicious dinner.....the meat was so tender, the sweet potato was perfectly cooked and the collards were seasoned with a bit of hot pepper flakes. Our mates had chicken & waffles and the barbecue pork with the most interesting sweet and hot sauce ! The chicken dish was delicious.

Very good local beer selection: We had a delicious Full Steam and Trophy. Burger was quite good and the chicken arugula salad was great! Soup was rather salty but flavorful. Great wait staff, quick and friendly service. Fun place.

Excellent food, wait staff friendly and attentive(but not to much). I had the "special" of the day - Local Arugula salad with white beans and corn cakes- delicious. Pimento cheese sandwiches are great also! Indoor or outdoor seating...

An old service station refurbished to service your love of food. Artistic and creative hangout for modern Durham dwellers. Menu is simple but with inventive twists on some classics. Enjoy the outside covered patio. Even on a hot day it is comfortable. Make this a regular haunt.

We ate dinner, good sandwiches. Fast service and friendly staff. There is big outside seating area and slightly small area for inside seating. Music was loud. Prices are slightly on the high side. However, food was good, good quantity and quality.

We took my father here for an impromptu birthday dinner on a Thursday night. We'd all just completed a family run so were very casual, but still fit in! Our server accommodated our large party of 7 with multiple checks and graciously accommodated our homemade cake- and added candles and serving! They have now earned me as a customer for life! Great place.

Busy Saturday night, Duke students arriving back in town! Very limited dinner menu, mostly sandwiches and fries. Great beer selection and signature drinks. I ordered the grilled fish tacos and was very disappointed with my food. The presentation was sad and unappealing. I received a plate with 5 pieces of over cooked grilled fish served on three stale, soft tacos and a piece of a hot, green pepper, a small serving of salsa and slaw. My friend ordered the chicken gyro served on pita bread, lettuce, a few tomatoes and cucumber sauce along with some greasy fries. He described his food as, "just ok". We have been to Geer Street Garden for brunch and I highly recommend the brunch. For lunch and dinner, there are much better options in downtown Durham such as Lucky's or Mc Cabes

Some of the best pub food that I've ever had. Great fish tacos, fried to perfection, delicious hush puppies, and delicious fried green tomatoes. Sangria was unique with death to the flavor. Service was professional and very quick, even for our large group of 15.

Food and service was good. But i didn't feel that it was any different than the next restaurant. There is nothing unique about this place. Covered outside eating is available. Simple menu.

Great food, awesome beer selection, and cool vibe. Definitely worth the trip and they definitely live up to the hype. Can be very busy during dinner, so be ready to wait. A few of my favorite items on the menu are the Grilled Fish Tacos, Fried Chicken & Waffles, and the locally pasture raised burger. If you're into craft beer, be sure to order a beer in garage are (pictured) while waiting for your table.
