Whether we just spend the night, spend the weekend or "just passing through" Traverse City...the Filling Station is one of our Favorite "Stops"! We have ALWAYS had fantastic "Wood Fired" One-of-a-Kind Pizza's (made to order) and incredibly "tasty" fresh made craft beer. Laid back and friendly... we even had the Owner serve us our food one time and engage in a great conversation about the conversion and start up of this "truly unique" site. Sunset scenery over park and water make it a delight to stay for a while... savor the food and drink and reconnect with your "Sweetie" in a relaxed atmosphere. What's NOT to LOVE ?!?!

We always take Company here during the summer. The pizzas are spectacular and there are great choices for ice cold beer! When the weather is nice, it's so fun to sit outside in the large, covered patio. If you visit in the fall they have wonderful tall heaters to keep you comfortable. Just a low-key delicious place to try!

This is one of a handful of vegan friendly places we found in Traverse City. The pizza (vegan & non vegan) was great, as was the beer. The owner was beyond helpful in terms of recommending other vegan friendly places & suggesting things to do around town. We tried all of her suggestions & they were all on target. Go here first if you are visiting Traverse City & get the scoop from the owner.

So - at this place everyone goes up to the bar and places their order for drinks and food. No waiter or waitress comes to take your order. Just leave your credit card to run a tab or pay as you go. We ordered a flight of beers while we decided on our pizza order. We went with the garlic, oil, mushroom pizza and it was delicious. The pizza is thin crust, brick oven cooked to perfection. After our flight, we placed our pizza order back at the bar with our "beers for dinner" order as well. They have a ton of kids running from the kitchen to the tables with all the food. We did not have one, but all the salads that went by looked delicious as well. We would most certainly return.

Located in an old rail yard, the Filling Station is an excellent spot for lunch or dinner. There salad and flatbread pizza is both delicious and, well, filling.

Great Pizza and bear combo. The pizza is eclectic and the beer is some of the best micro brew in the area. Prices are reasonable,

The flatbreads are awesome, try a stump jumper! The staff is friendly and the beer, ever changing, is delicious. The Wobbly IPA is great, when available. Oh, don't forget the cool, train station setting.

The atmosphere is casual. You can sit indoor or out. Great beer. Excellent pizza. Hard not to love! next to an abandoned railroad track, a community garden and a small lake:)

Friday night stop with friends-adults and kids. Local NorthWoods's soda - kids like root beer the best. But the cherry creek soda and spiced ginger are excellent. Good variety of microbrews. Pizzas are hand crafted and cooked in wood fired oven. Located in the old train depot , the building has style from years past , aged wood floors, church pews mixed with modern style chairs. Family friendly, tv to keep up with sports . In summer they have live entertainment outside under the porch where passengers once waited for their train. Reasonable prices, view of boardman lake.

We had a great time at The Filling Station tonight. There was a small wait, but once we were seated, our pizza and salad were on our table in less than 10 minutes! We ordered 2 different pizzas and really enjoyed them both. Atmosphere is good and the waitstaff were super friendly. Great place for a quick meal :)

Stopped in with friends for beer tasting. They had a nice selection, really liked their lager and brown ale. Location is cool, the old train depot. The pizza looked amazing here although we didn't eat.

Interesting space, good beer - creative brewing, and a very good thin wood fired pizza. I had the Stump Thumper which had no meat but lots of mushrooms of different varieties. Olive oil with no sauce. Light and good.

Came for the brewery, but hoping for good eats, too! We were sorta lost on the concept of the place. But we were quickly treated and told how you order and seat yourself and got on the right track very quickly! Staff was friendly and super helpful and very attentive. We ordered a flight with a few IPA's and stouts. To preface my opinion on the beer...we are beer snobs. Stouts and IPA's are what we always congregate toward. We live so close to 3 terrific breweries, I think we might be too spoiled. I hated the beer here. It wasn't disgusting, but I never want to taste it again! I'm sorry to have to say it. That being said, the pizza was pretty bomb! Wood fired thin crust pizza is TOTALLY my thing! We did a salad (the station salad, with fig and pear and blue cheese) I wished I would have ordered more salad, it was delish! We also ordered a half and half pizza (half BLT, half overnighter) the BLT half, while good, gets sloppy and wet fast, gotta eat it right away, quickly! But both sides were absolutely delicious, the bread was thin, slightly chewy and lightly crispy...a dream for any thin crust pizza lover (like me)! Go for pizza but beware, this place gets crazy packed during peak eat times, go when it's slower, otherwise it gets nuts to get a seat. Yum...I am still thinking about their pizza.

The beer and food choices are interesting. The flatbread pizza with the ability to order half and half of their specialties was fun. Had a very good IPA and the view of the lake was incredible. The physical shell of this place is incredible a great re-purposing of an old train station. Well worth the visit.

I think this little post is what started my husband and my affinity for good craft beers and out of the way little restaurants. He wears his Filing Station T-shirt nearly every weekend. This has quickly become our favorite TC dining spot. IN a typical 4 day weekend trip we will eat here 2-3 times! The pizza is fantastic. Unusual toppings on super flat bread crust. What a fun way to try new pizza ideas all while sitting in an old Train station. ON a warm spring day you can sit outside and enjoy the weather or find a nice cool spot with some a/c in the summer. It's a super casual environment with very unique pizzas (you can get a traditional cheese or pepperoni too). I just can't say enough bout this have to try ti!
