I had read a review that spoke of how big this store was and how you could browse for hours. That's was all I needed to see to cart my family on a side trip to the bookstore. Well, it seems that have moved and are now just a local independent bookseller. Not bad, just not the mega-store you might be expecting, so plan accordingly.

Living near by, this has been a place that I used to take the kids. We could spend a couple of hours browsing. It's like a treasure hunt, the children's toy/game area has educational, fun finds!

This used to be the best book store in New England. The new ownership has made it very ordinary. It rarely has books you want in stock, although they will order and get anything you need. And what used to be the best travel section in town with unusual travel guides is no more. What a shame. I try to support local book stores whenever and wherever I can. It's difficult to support this one after so many years of loyal support.

Huge store that carries just about any book you'll need. It can be hard to understand their organization, so just ask someone who works there and they will know exactly where to look.

but it's still a great place to browse for books. Not necessarily as good as traditional bookstores (or Amazon) if you need something other than a current best seller, but a great place to go if you don't really know what you are looking for, because you're sure to find it in the stacks somewhere

Not an easy place to find. Better call for directions, but worth it. The place is huge and has a section called remainders. These are books that may be printed a 4th time so the 3rd printing instead of costing $15.95 may cost $3.50. The latter prices are just an example of the markdowns. Prices do vary. Whenever I am in the Boston area, I make sure I go to Newton for a visit and spend several hours going through the books. It is a teacher thing!
