Awesome venue for live show, easy to locate, easy to park. Entrance was ease, and setup was great. Sound was amazing. Def would go see another show here!

No trip to New Orleans with them be complete without a visit to Tipitina's. Great music, New Orleans style, along with a great place to drink. Clearly one of my favorite places I've ever been

We saw North Mississippi All-stars. They rocked but was equally or more impressed with the venue. We got there early, saw the opening act, and grabbed a spot upstairs. Close to washroom, bar and with GREAT view of stage. Sound was good and just the whole vibe was a great way to end the NOLA jazzfest scene. Highly recommend a stop here. My guess is they don't book a bad act.

Although I am getting older and I didn't think I would stay more than 15 minutes, I stayed for the entire anniversary show with Walter Wolfman Washington and his band. The band connected with the audience in such a way that I completely forgot about the usual pain I have in my knees and I had to stay until the show was over. I didn't want to miss a minute of it.

Never had the opportunity until last weekend, thanks to meeting some folks at brunch, who had an extra ticket to a show. I had always wanted to go so we bought one more ticket and got there early. Parked right across from the front door to boot. Nice mixed age crowd for the band Lettuce. We moved upstairs since I couldn't see from the back of the floor area and was feeling squished. All in all, great place to see a show, good sound system.

This legendary, unpretentious venue made for a very fun Saturday evening in NOLA during French Quarter Fest. The crowd was energetic and we really enjoyed both the opening band and the main act. Come early if you'd like a better viewing spot. As a plus, the neighborhood around the venue is full of good restaurants and nice walks. I would go again in a heartbeat.

If you want to have a locals type experience then go to Tipitinas. This is one of a handful of places that have been around for what seams like forever. Catch a live show of original music, not just recycled Burbon St. brown eyed girl.

This place is great for listening to local artists. The entertainers are the most popular musicians here locally. Music genres are varied, but lean-to wards jazz, local brass bands that you often see in second line parades, great singers. Most of the entertainment may be of artists unknown to people out-of City, but this is one of the top places for locals to go. There is a bar. The only drawback that I have is there is no seating. It is off st. Charles Avenue, and would definitely be a cab ride or A Streetcar ride. The audience you will find is mostly locals. There is no food sold, but many restaurants close by. Also there are several other bars with and without music within blocks.

Tipitina's is the place to watch local and national acts perform in a small venue atmosphere. It is the house that Professor Longhair built! It is a must visit on your next trip to New Orleans!

Great legendary music venue. Bartenders were friendly, sound was great, and everywhere seemed to have a great view. It does have some drawbacks though. Our tickets said will call at 8:30, doors open at 9. Unfortunately the first act didn't start until 10 and the main act didn't start until 11:30. In a place with no chairs, 3 hours in the same spot before the main act even started got to be tough after awhile. If we were to return again I would grab the tickets at 8:30, and come back. I would also stand up on the second floor, less trampling up there.

So we can't see Fess play there, isn't Mac the next best thing? The staff is always awesome and this is one of the quintessential music venues in a city full of iconic music venues. Always a good time!

We had been here a few years ago to a Sunday night cajun dance and came back for a Rebirth Brass Band show. The shoulder to shoulder, standing only, restless crowd was not our cup of tea. Waited a long time for the show to start only to find out there was an opening band (and they were quite good). This added considerably to the standing time. If you like the big crowds and standing concerts then you will like this. On the other hand, if you have the chance to get to a fais do do, then I'd highly recommend it.

This is a really super place - World-class music venue. Great music and a wonderful line-up of performers. However beware - no food apart from from some snacks from a machine and - importantly - EVERY person who wants to enter MUST have full ID

My first experience at Tipitina's was excellent. If you know how to act and are respectful when traveling, you'll have nothing but a good time at Tipitina's catching world-class acts at an awesome venue. The staff puts up with a lot of BS from drunk people and entitled people, so show them some respect, because they are working their butts off to make your experience as pleasant as possible while being on their feet for hours, before and after you leave the venue. Nothing but a good time to have here and I will recommend this venue to anyone visiting New Orleans. Do your research and get your show tickets early because this place sells out fast.

Tipitina's is a New Orleans classic! Locals love it, tourist love it... you just have to go. Large space with several bars and an upstairs area, an overall super comfortable setting with easy stage views. Foundation Free Friday Concert Series throughout the summer is absolutely the BEST! Great music && no cover! That area of uptown is great too. Lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance up and down Magazine to enjoy either pre or post concert... or both.

We rented out the mezzanine for a private event (the night before our wedding) and then paid for our guests to stay for the concert in a VIP area. Such a cool, unique and authentic experience and a totally unforgettable night for us and our family and friends. Nancy & Mary were great to work with in planning the event and working within our budget, and the caterer they brought in for the food was awesome - shrimp and grits, po'boys, a bananas foster firing station, a beignet bar, just to name a few. Our guests were raving about the food and even asking if they could get some the recipes afterward. Bonerama was the headliner that night and they were incredible! Love Tipitina's!

We travelled to New Orleans for a week and no trip to NOLA is complete without taking in a great place for music. We took a cab from our hotel - and were excited for the evening. We had gone there about 5 years ago with our kids - and saw Dr. John just before he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. There was no minimum age then and no one was asked for ID. Well, I forgot my license... and they have a black and white policy. No ID - No entry. I am 60 years old and am a mature woman. Really? No ability to discern? The hotel was willing to go into my room, find my wallet, and take a photo of my license and message it to me. Again - the answer was no. It was a huge disappoint to spend over $50 in cab fare and not to enjoy this venue. I will not return again. We spent the next 3 nights listening to great music at DBA, The Spotted Cat and The Preservation Hall. The Preservation Jazz Band are some of the most gracious (aside from expertise and fun) musicians I have ever enjoyed. Sorry Tipitina's you have had trouble with your liquor license - but your policy stinks.

Great venue for a live show, we saw Bonerama..great show. The only drawback is there are no seats, you have to stand the entire time, and hold your spot. The bartenders were great, friendly people overall, and the support the local youth music programs....go there at least once when you vist, well worth it.

Tipitina's is an excellent place to see a live show. Multiple bars and quick service for a sold out Karl Denson show during Jazz Fest. Can't wait to go back to Tips!

We went to a reunion concert in aid of Hurricane Katrina victims and it was a rare and wonderful experience. Everybody has played this venue at some time and music history is made at every gig. We had been warned that the area around was a bit dodgy but we were not aware of any potential problems when we walked some way down the road for a drink first. The clientele are really friendly and we were encouraged to move to the front to see local legends make their way to the stage, stopping for chats and hugs along the way. The sound was fabulous , the performers gave their all and we saw the stage full of New Orleans royalty plus a couple of Indian Chiefs for added spectacle. This is a real local venue where everyone, crowd and musicians alike seem to know and love each other and I would certainly say that it is worth a Uber ride out of the centre.
