offers local talent seven nights a week, no cover charge, in a swank, upscale setting. Mayfield is a Grammy-award winning jazz trumpet player and educator who has served as Cultural Ambassador of the City of New Orleans and State of Louisiana since 2003. He's often onstage, along with local luminaries like Germaine Bazzle, a soulful jazz singer and Gerald French and the Original Tuxedo Jazz Band, a troupe that defines old school class and style.

Drinks and jazz are the reasons to go here. So nice to be off noisy, dirty Bourbon Street. Lots of seats.

A nice relaxed room with great jazz and a really fun Burlesque show on Friday Night. Set inside the beutiful Royal Sonnesta . It is a nice break from the craziness of Bourbon Street but you can still stumble out right back into the craziness if you want.

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta and dropped in one night and the music was fantastic. It is a very small club and you will get to know your neighbors, but it's well worth it. Drinks were very good (we did not eat there) service was pretty good as the bar was packed both nights we went there.

A happening place right in the hotel. The singer was a bit long in the tooth but the band was very good

Our favorite jazz club on Bourbon. Music is varied from traditional groups, to singers, to bigger bands all good. No cover, just go. People respect the music and don't talk over it.

Want to hear jazz without a noisy crowd? If you book a reserved seat for a modest amount you will be in front of the stage to hear some of the best music in New Orleans.

Great place to be at and listen to some great jazz if you want to be away from the drunken Bourbon street crowd. It offers great, sophisticated atmosphere, amazing artists and great selection of drinks. This is one of my very favorite places in the city. Definitely a must go to place!

This is one of the best Jazz clubs in the French Quarter. Opens at 8PM and goes into the night Highly recommend it. All the bands were terrific

Stop be after going to Desire to eat. Not full but the waitress said it was not a busy night. Drinks are good services was good. Music was good. The ambiance was great and it gave my hubby and I a nice romantic evening after a hectic day. A place where you can stop, maybe review the entertainment before you go in , though is was nice and mellow when we went.

Bourbon Street is not the first place that springs to mind as far as good Jazz goes. Most of the clubs there by rock and popular music, and the general vibe is one of a constant frat party (and NOT in a good way). But this place has great music and is lovely inside. Every seat is good and there is an array of snacks and cocktails available. We visited twice during our stay.

Nice place to relax and listen to some good Jazz at the end of a long day in N.O. Good Service, very nice ambiance, and some really talented musicians.

Jazz begins at 8 every night with different groups rotating each night through the month, The seats are extremely comfortable and food and cocktails are served throughout the night and if you are staying in the Royal Sonesta then you ride home is to take the elevator.

One of the high points here is inclusion of music students who are talented and delighted to play in a club. It is wonderfully entertaining.

This is one of the best Jazz clubs in New Orleans if not the best. The atmosphere is great and it really gets going around midnight. The beverage manager Daniel Franco runs a wonderful crew who are polite and well mannered. This is a busy venue so reservation is advisable. You will have a great night if you like Jazz, the show is great and the cocktails are extrodinary.

One of the best jazz bars in town! My spouse and I spent several evenings listening to a variety of performers. Every combo was exceptional! The level of muscianship was unparalleled! The craft cocktail menu is exhaustive and the wait staff are all professionals. It was a wonderful experience to linger and listen!

When I asked the concierge at our hotel to recommend a jazz venue on Frenchmen Street, he said there was a great place on Bourbon Street that would be more convenient. As it happened it was in the same hotel as the restaurant we were dining at. The Jazz Playhouse has a different group every night so I can only review the group that is there on Wednesdays. They were very good and we really enjoyed the show. The room was very comfortable with couches and upholstered chairs. if you don't feel like drinking, they will serve you coffee or other virgin drinks without pressure. I'm very glad we took the advice about this place. I would definitely return.

The jazz was wonderful and it was easy to get a table early, but then filled up rather quick. The room itself exudes New Orleans fancy and fanfare. The room also looks onto a peaceful courtyard and just steps from Bourbon street. The drink offerings were traditional for the area and we were not certain if we had a waitress or needed to go to the bar for service. They have a small menu for food(from Desire Oyster bar) which worked out well for those who couldn't meet earlier for the dinner prior.

Just off the main lobby in our hotel we came across this wonderful hidden gem! The Jazz music was great, the cocktail menu unique and true NOLA, and the couches and chairs were cozy yet the atmosphere was purely luxurious!

Having not been here for a while, I was not aware that the name has changed. However, the atmosphere is still very jazz-lounge, the music is good, the people friendly, and the French 75's still cold and delicious. Food is still available.
