For a truly lovely evening order a meat pie from next door and pair it with something on tap.

A mysterious storefront bottle shop with a bar in back that hosts a monthly “Secret Disco” and a D.J. most nights.

If you like ginger ale, check out this place. Thanks to a partnership with nearby Filbert’s Soda, Maria’s developed their own ginger blend for use in cocktails (or any time, really) that hits just the right spot between sweet and spicy.

I was recommended this place by someone I met in another bar. From downtown it was a bit of a trek with two L train rides plus a bus and a bit of a walk, but a great adventure. This seems to be a bit of a Bo Ho area and this small venue has grown out of a brewery and bottle shop next to a takeaway to a full on brewhaus experience. There are two bars; a smaller, more intimate (winter venue?) and a newer large bar with outside seating. There is a range of beers including those brewed on site. Food is a bit strange, you walk from the bar into the back of the take away and order there at the counter, the food is brought to you in disposable containers. The food itself is a Chinese / Asian / American fusion and very nice and well priced. A great place to spend a summer evening.

Best hot dogs I have ever had, they had one with kim chi on it. They also have great beers but I go for the food just simply amazing to say the least

Definitely the coolest bar in Chicago. The atmosphere is very laid back, and I love the selection of draft beers and homemade draft mixed drinks.

Is it mostly a hipster crowd? Yes. Is there a lot of PBR flowing? Absolutely. But it's also a fun (albeit small) place to meet friends with a friendly vibe and an interesting restaurant attached

My friend brought me here after dome deep dish. Yes, there a lot of hipsters here, but if you look past them you find some nice people who drink here too. They brew their own bear, under the Marz label and it's quite good. The bar is huge and wide opened, with 2 serving bars and an outside section. The staff is friendly enough. If you just get past the hipsters that infest the place you'll find it a nice place to to sample some local brews.

If you are into craft beer, you MUST go to Maria's. In Chicago, bars like Maria's are known as "slashies" - part beer to go (i.e. a bottle shop), part bar. Their tap selection (12 taps) rotates pretty regularly and they are known for their craft cocktails. In addition, their bottle list is somewhere in the 300-400 different types of beer range. Maria's gets some of the most sought after beer in Chicago, so almost everything they have is good and much of it cannot be found other places in town. They almost always have a Three Floyd's on tap! Currently, they don't offer food but you do have a couple of choices. Next door is Pleasant House Pasty Shop, which will deliver to you at Maria's. Later this spring (or early summer), Maria's will open their own restaurant (Kimski) that will be attached. Kimski is set to be a Korean-Polish fusion restaurant that is an ode to they owners dual heritage.

We discovered this little gem by accident, using it as a place to enjoy our mean from Pleasant House Bakery next door. An interesting selection of craft beers awaits in this cozy tavern.

We visited here for a few drinks last week and while they have a nice beer selection, anything but the draft beer was warm. We each ordered bottled beer (2 different kinds) and both were served warm, as in, right off the shelf. We thought maybe it was a fluke, so tried something else and it was the same thing. Not sure I would be back for a second visit.

Yeah this place is ok. Hipsters overload. Beer is good. Would gv place a better rating, however bar tender was a douche. Name was Gram. Only by Gram was it made to make me feel not welcome cause I didn't fit in socially. Anyways without the hipster police making me feel awkward.

We stopped here after a Sox game, and I'm glad we did! I've been to the Pleasant House bakery next door (YUM!), but never to Maria's (as an aside - you can bring food from Pleasant House into Maria's and eat it there). The front of the place is a store, but the back is a bar. There are also two outdoor seating areas. The atmosphere and drink menu are what make this place unique. The list of cocktails is long and creative, but they also have beer and wine available. You won't find another place like it.
