I'm not big on sushi but when I saw another guest's dish with that amazing sushi roll I had to get one too. They crisp the rice on the outside and to me that made the sushi the best I'd ever had.

We were staying at a home at the Mauna Kea and found this place. It;'s a short drive up the hill but well worth the 20 minutes. The sashimi and sushi were outstanding, the assortment of sashimi was "off the Hook" fresh. The salmon dinner and ahi salads the ladies had looked incredible. Let's not forget the adult beverages - solid wine list, great selection of cocktails (Mai Tai) and they had this awesome jazz group playing - next time we are on the Kona coast we will be back

Redwater catered my daughters wedding and the food was excellent! Everything that was on the menu was delicious. I loved the pineapple fried rice it was the best I have ever eaten. The Molokai purple sweet potato puree was so good and I loved the Waipio fiddlehead fern with tomato & sweet corn. The Keawe wood fire, sorghum basted southern style slow roast, Berkshire port Roast was superb (and I am not a pork lover)The catch of the day, citrus and herb finished with citrus infused olive oil was lovely. If you are in Waimea, it is worth stopping and having a great meal.

We had a group of 6 in our party and we stopped here for dinner. It's a nice place and very quaint. The steaks, pork chop and ribs were fantastic! The service was great too! You can get 1/2 size portions which are BIG! If you are passing through Waimea stop in and grab a bite to eat.

I was extremely impressed with the delicious food at Red Water Cafe. We ordered the Lilikoi Chicken Yellow Curry and the City Rib Eye Steak. Both were exquisite!! Besides the yummy food, the staff was AWESOME. Pili was our waitress and took wonderful care of us throughout our dinner at Red Water. Pili was incredibly helpful, kind, and super FUNNY! She helped set the ambiance right away with her larger than life personality and made us feel like a true part of her Ohana. Our positive experience at Red Water ended up being one of our most memorable parts of our trip to the Big Island. I cannot wait to come back for another delicious meal at Red Water Cafe in the near future! -Jay & Hadi

After a day of driving around the island, it was time for dinner. This is a great place to eat and spend time either with friends or on a date. We started off with complimentary garlic edamame. Nice flavor with just a hint of spice. We opted to start with the Thai Ceasar Salad. Even divided into 2, this was huge. The lemongrass dressing was very nice. Highly recommended for those avoiding meat or want something "light". We then ordered the Dragon roll. Not expecting much since this was a restaurant away from the Japanese community. But we were wrong. This was definitely delicious. I don't normally like eel because of the pin bones but loved this dish. On to the main course. We decided on the half order of steak and a full order of the pork chop. BOTH were very good. The pork chop came on the bone and believe me, I gnawed on that bone like there was no tomorrow. Both meat dishes had the right amount of char on it. Overall, if you are in the area, do stop by.

Very relaxed vibe with hearty and nutritious food. You may get sticker shock, but they pay local farmers well for fresh ingredients. It's slow food and blue zones. Drinks are very creative, but haven't met the expectations of their descriptions always. During tomato season, get lots of things with tomatoes; they get the. Eat ones in the islands

I visited this restaurant a few times when it first open and it was a hit and miss with food and service. So, I was a bit skeptical returning to Red Water to meet a friend for dinner, BUT I am glad I did. The appetizers were the perfect size and tasted great. Sushi is out of this world and the Red Water Martini was fantastic. The restaurant has live music so it adds to the charm of the place. Our server Jeff was the best!

We were driving through Waimea and spotted this place. Very modest exterior, but walked in and found it to be cozy and romantic inside. We shared a beet salad with local veggies, then shared a heavenly maguro sashimi and a wonderful special sushi roll, with a lovely Morgan Chardonnay. The menu includes meat, fish, fowl, and vegan options, they have a full bar, and live music on weekends. Excellent!

Vegan options were minimal, but delicious!! We sat and ate at the bar and had a wonderful dinner experience. The restaurant was super busy but Brandon (the bartender and our server) was always happy to answer questions and help us get our amazing dinners.

My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner. We were very impressed by the freshness of the ingredients and creativity of the menu. We thought the half portion option on dinner entrees was fantastic as that allowed us to order more! Service was also excellent. Thanks for a memorable meal.

We had no reservations but were seated quickly even though the restaurant was quite busy. I had the chicken curry (advised by waiter to have the half portion - it was more than enough) which was fantastic. The husband had a ceasar salad and a truly outstanding seafood chowder. We had the hand-made chocolate for dessert. This is a don't miss if you are a chocolate lover!!! Really great and would eat there again in a heartbeat. Not cheap, but worth the money.

First time. Sean was very pleasant and informative. The food was to die for. My plate was so clean no washing was necessary. One can't go wrong ordering fish. Sean's recommendations were perfect. Don't pass on the flourless cake. Will definitely go back.

Red Water is not a Cafe ... but the food and drinks are excellent. I would offer an Excellent rating if there was a few more menu options. The options offered are great, but not in a manner that makes me want to frequent more than one time each month. The competitor across the street is more expensive, but offers a few more options to my liking.

Tasty pork and seared tuna. Attentive waiter and concierge. Cook served the meal. Relaxed setting. Looks like an all American restaurant but when you look at the menu it's half Japanese food. Recommended

We stopped in for a bite and had no reservations so the only down fall is we had to eat quickly because our table was needed in one hour. The food was excellent! I had the curry and the rest of the table had the I/2 order pork chop. Everyone loved their dishes! I must go back and enjoy this great food soon and next time we will make reservations. Not sure if you need reservations but the night we were there was a Jazz music night so it was booked.

The bartender at our hotel recommended Red Water, so when our plans fell through we decided to try it. The outside looked simple and casual, but the interior is very nice. This is a top-tier restaurant with great food. The service was exceptional and we had a delightful meal. The yellow curry was mild and sweeter than I expected, but very good. We will definitely go back every time we visit the Big Island and I will have a difficult time resisting it. Thank you, Red Water Café team. Highly Recommended!!
