Delicious burgers. I had the hula burger and worried it may have too much going on (teriyaki sauce, pineapple, some other condiments), but it was outstanding. Maybe the tastiest thing I had in all of Hawaii. Their fries were not bad, but fairly unremarkable. One knock against the burgers was the buns were flimsy and didnt hold up to the burger very well. Still delicious, but if they have bun options maybe ask for something more sturdy than their standard bun, or you will end up with a delicious mess toward the end.

I thought I had already tried the best fish taco's in the world off a food truck in Florence, OR, run by a classically trained pan asian gourmet chef, however, this place topples that highest mark! This place is so friggin awesome, and the vibe on this side of the island is so cool, it is truly a must do. People just hanging out in Kona and focusing on Poke Bowls are missing out! They have so many interesting different items on the menu in term of fish tacos...I think we had "market style" with some blackened swordfish...and it was one of those rare meals where you think every flavor coming into your mouth is sheer perfection. There were a variety of options in terms of fish and style of fish taco. I see on Thursdays they go to town on Gyro specials, and my son had a burger that seriously looked like the best burger I had ever seen, and he said it was his best. I know this all sound gushing and over the top, but we cook a lot and know good food and these guys are doing some serious art here. Service and people were fantastic...6 Thumbs up here from Livermore, CA. :)

Super yummy burgers and tacos on the Big Island! Much cheaper than eating at the nearby resorts and cute vibe. Highly recommend.

This place was a real find thanks to Trip Advisor. We had a party of four and each ordered burgers, best burgers any of us had ever had! My husband finished his and he enjoyed it so much that he ordered another one. The staff was excellent, each one as warm and friendly as the next, each came out to our table to welcome us, this place is just incredible!!!! It's our new favorite place on the island to eat and experience the true "Aloha Spirit" of the Big Island.

Enjoyed the beef tacos, but the burger was overcooked, rendering the grass-fed beef a little flavorless. Very casual spot with wonderful, friendly service.

Local place with good burgers. Lots of daily specials. More than you'd pay at home, but reasonable by Hawaii standards. Super friendly service. A good lunch option. Good shave ice next store.

We return every chance we get! Hula burger is the best. Head to one of the beaches near by (Spencer Beach is great) and stop in to Kohala Burger and Taco when you get hungry. It's a small place but we've always managed to find a table. Order the Dole Whip for dessert or head next door for ice cream at Kawaihae: Anuenue Ice Cream & Shave Ice.

Some of the best tacos and burgers on the island. Small place with big taste. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Big island.

The price is high but honestly this was the best food I had in 10 days on the island. Definitely get one of their milkshakes, you won't regret it!

Great place for a quick lunch. Daily specials & fish of the day. Not a "cheap eat" but good & value for freshness. Only a handfull of tables & many do take-out. Staff was really friendly.

Busy small restaurant. There are few tables. There was a very hectic place. We all enjoyed our lunch. My husband said that the fresh fish tacos were excellent and my daughter liked her cod tacos. My son liked in bacon burger. My pork taco was okay. We liked the commando fries. 3 of us enjoyed shakes. The bill for lunch for 4 with 3 shakes was expensive given the setting - over $80, but the food was good.

The food here is amazing for takeout the fish tacos are delicious and fresh the burgers are to die for the coleslaw is tasty and delicious you may have to wait a while because it gets crowded but it is worth it pick up your meal and go for a drive to the beach love it

First off the restaurant is very small and hot with not much sitting. We stood in line for 20 minutes to place an order then managed to get a seat at a table. The place is extremely busy and cramped. If you don't mind people pretty much standing over you while you eat then you will be okay. Our son said his fish tacos where the best he had every had, my cheese burger was just a cheeseburger nothing special. The french fries were good and the milk shake was small compared to what you normally get in a restaurant. We all thought the cost for the lunch was way too much. It is a very unique place, glad we tried it once.

I have to say this was one of the very best burgers I have had the pleasure of putting in my mouth! I love burgers and this place is one not to miss! The flavor is rich and fresh. All of the great reviews are spot with this place. My daughter and wife each had fish tacos and loved them too! Priced just right compared to other island restaurants. Here is the best news... They just expanded to allow for more dine in opportunities. We also enjoyed a dole whip shake YUM!

The service at the counter was great. The pork tacos were outstanding. Probably the best I have ever had. Not overpriced like the food at the hotels. Amazing they can keep up the quality with such a brisk business.

We visited this small place twice during our week on the Big Island. The burgers were awesome with fresh local ground beef and wonderful homemade toasted buns. Very juicy and whatever you wanted to go on it. The fries and onion rings were good. The fish taco's were also wonderful with the fresh fish of the day (Ahi when we visited). A great place to eat lunch and you may have to wait as it is busy at lunchtime. We went late about 2 PM both times and we were able to be served with only a short wait and we were also able to find a table. They also have wonderful frosted drinks, shakes and Dole Whip!

Perfect lunch spot after a day of snorkeling. We had the fish tacos and ahi burger each time. Will be thinking about this place until the next time we return to the big island!

Want local and flavor. This is it. Expect a line, counter service and several daily specials. That are tasty. Had the original burger- perfect and hit the spot. Don't expect much from the onion rings. Got like five in the order for $5 bucks. The day special was Ahi tacos and tis was good but a bit pricey for this type of Formica table joint, $22.95. staff was friendly and my son went back next day for burger..good as expected. Very small, great grab and go stop.
