So many flavors to pick from but my favorite is Toasted Coconut on a sugar cone. Very generous scoops of ice cream. The shave ice is very popular and you can get lot's of toppings.

Wow!!!! Loved this place. The young woman who was staffing the shop was wonderful in her guidance of flavor selection and the most amazing ice cream center. Ideally located next to Kohala taco and burger near Hamakua nut company. I thought this was the best shave ice I had on the island.

This is truly a unique experience. A walk up window with super friendly service and great ice cream and shave ice; not to mention that the regular size is mammoth. We have visited more than once! Sometimes the line gets a little long, but the wait is worth it. The number of different flavors for the shave ice makes choosing up to three difficult. Adding a large scoop of ice cream to the heart of the shave ice makes it really special. This a must stop n the way to Havi!

We're no shave ice experts, but this place is great. It's a walk up window in a small shopping center next to Kohalo Burgers. They have a jillion flavors. A small shave ice costs four bucks and is plenty big.

Have been to Anuenue three times in the last two years - every time the place is crowded but well worth the wait! They know how to do shaved ice here and have tons of flavors to make it that much more interesting! Had 3 kids in tow and they all agreed it was the best! Will definitely be back on my next trip to the Big Island!

We waited in a very long line for this shaved ice and it was worth every minute. Obviously there is a reason why they are so busy. We tried many different shaved ice stands and this was my favorite. Great flavors!

Only tried the shave ice, but it was so good! Even the regular size is huge. Three flavors included in the price. Ended up enjoying it two separate times, driving up from our condo in Waikoloa though the first time we stopped, we ended up leaving as the line was so long and didn't seem to move very quickly. Not much seating around there, just a couple of benches outside along the building structure.

An ok shaved ice destination. The pro: - very good flavors, which we liked a lot. We tried three syrup flavors- Lavender lemonade, Tangerine, and Hawaiian Punch. We would highly recommend the lavender lemonade in the Tangerine in particular. The cons: - coarse texture to the shaved ice. The ice is a lot more coarse than some of the other shaved ice we have tried around Hawaii. The best shaved ice have a texture like snow that absorbs the syrups very well. In contrast this ice had larger, less fine pieces and the syrup sank right down to the bottom. - an insanely long wait The wait was ridiculous. There were less than 10 people on line ahead of us but we stood in line for over half an hour to be able to order. Granted there was only one person working, and she shaved each ice to order, but we saw so many people leaving the line because it was ridiculously long. She definitely needs more help. If you are in the mood for shaved ice and have a lot of time to spare while on vacation, by all means try Anuenue shaved ice. But if you see more than a few people on line be prepared to wait a long time.

We are Hawaiian shaved ice fans so of course we had to try some on the Big Island. The portions here are very generous so a regular is more than enough. You get to pick three flavors and there are plenty of interesting flavors to choose from. I tried POG (passion fruit, orange and guava). It was the perfect tropical blend. Be prepared to wait in a long line. We waited over 30 minutes but it was worth it!

This is a regular stop for us when visiting the Big Island! The shave ice is awesome! They have a ton of flavors, and there is usually a line, so you have time to read through your options. We always try something local. this time it was POG, tangerine and lime! A great combo! We also tried the coconut which was great too! A nice way to cool off as you head home from the beautiful beaches.

Only shave ice place open on sundays on the kona coast. They do a great job and the "small" size at $4 is a generous helping. Comes with up to 3 flavors. Will be back again!

This place has shave ice in two sizes and with each size you get up to three flavors. They also offer ice cream along with soda and bottled water. Be prepared -you may have a long wait, depending on the time of day you visit but it is well worth the wait!

We have been coming here for 10 years now. This trip, we took 9 kids and 4 adults. Be prepared to wait in line, though. There were about 10 people ahead of us even on a hazy day. Pro Tip: Order the smallest size. Even that size is quite large, and you can get up to 3 flavors on it. A refreshing break!

There was a long line of customers of both locals and tourists. It's a small hole in the wall and worth the drive from the Waikoloa resort area. The owner was very nice and the shaved ice and vanilla ice cream were flavorful. If you can find an Original Big Island Shave Ice Co. food truck while on the Big Island, tries theirs, too. They give you a lot more and their flavors are a lot tastier. But Anuenue Ice Cream & Shave Ice will satisfy your shaved ice cravings for sure!

fine ice shave, delicious flavors which weren't fake tasting. Try the melona, it's the bomb. And super friendly service.

This is just a little place in a nondescript roadside location, but don't miss it if you are driving through or anywhere near Waimea. In fact, it's worth searching out if you have a passion for ice cream or shaved ice. Perhaps best known for its authentic Hawaiian shaved ice (or so I heard) but the ice cream is some of the best I've had. Ben, the owner is very friendly and obviously proud of what he serves, gladly dishing out heaping tasting spoon after tasting spoon of samples since it's so hard to decide among the many unusual flavors.

Delicious shave ice but even a better owner. Shared stories. Was truly concerned about our happiness with the product.

This is one of the best shave ice stores on the Big Island, second in my mind only to Scandies in Kona. They have a wide variety of toppings. We'll back back on our next trip.

Surprised? Not really, most local places in the islands that look shady are the best, hands down. And this gem is no exception. I've read that the lines are long and slow and that just wasn't our experience. But, you don't rush this kinda thing. Went with the stand by rainbow with vanilla, which by the way is insane from Tropical Dreams Ice Cream company (that's a whole other amazing surprise- probably the best Tahitian Vanilla bean I've ever sampled.....a lot) that was dropped, not at the bottom of the cone, but in the middle. What? Yep In the middle of the Shave Ice- you get to it quicker rather than the melted delicious end mess that's usually the payoff for most others. I liked it. Seemed, well, more civilized as very little ended up on my feet or shirt which is usually the case at my other favs- or the crazy sugared-up bees at Matsumoto's back in the day, for those who remember running through the gravel lot. Anyway- amazing taste, good prices and quick-ish line. No complaints. A+++

This place doesn't look like much but the lines around it tell a different story. There are dozens of flavors available, including several that are sugar free. You get three flavors with your order. There is also a shaved ice you can get with a scoop of icecream at the bottom. I didn't try that but my mom did and said that it was amazing. There are probably about a dozen icecream flavors as well. When you're hot and wet from an afternoon at the beach, this is just what you need to get cooled down.
