The fried oysters were delicious. The chicken was very good. Excellent service and views of the river. This was our favorite restaurant in Savannah.

We ordered at 2 PM on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered the fried chicken and the Cobb salad. Over an hour later we were finally served. Food was good. Service was good. Ambience was nice. Timeliness was awful.

This restaurant was recommended by 2 different people at our hotel, so we decided to try it, and were glad we did. We were able to get a corner table with a view of the river. All the food was excellent, and the prices were fair for the quality and quantity served. The server was very attentive and efficient, although not very friendly. Overall, highly recommended.

My wife chose crab cakes which were good. My She Crab soup arrived barely warm and my main course, Bouillibase, came 45 minutes after the soup. Most of the shellfish was dried out and there was almost no accompanying tomato broth w/ vegetable basmati rice. I won't be back

Loved this restaurant. We dined on a lovely day and sat outside on the patio. The fried oyster platter was delicious as were the cheese grits and salad. It has a very convenient location to many of the historic squares.

Vic's is located in one the old Cotton Exchange Buildings overlooking River Street. I Sat at the bar overlooking the River Street. Began the evening having drinks with friends but stayed for the dinner as the Shrimp and Grits were calling my name. Yes, the meal was delicious. Go for the view but stay for the meal.

The lunch menu is a steal. Same food as dinner but a lot cheaper. Hidden gem. Must try. The food is excellent and made fresh. This is not your typical fried food place.

This is a fun experience when in Savannah. We enjoy the view of the river (may have to wait for these tables), the food is well prepared , and the service is excellent. We try to go here at least two times a year when visiting Savannah. The She Crab Soup, the Crobb Salad, and the Meatloaf are winners. My Meatloaf was one of the best ever at a restaurant. Our server, Chanel, was really the best, even though she appeared to have a lot of tables. She was attentive and very helpful.

Wonderful dining experience. Food was fabulous and the wait staff very attentive. Indoor and outdoor seating. Good location and easy to walk to from most of the historic district area.

One of my girlfriends used to travel to Savannah frequently on business, and said she made a reservation at Vics for a recent trip for a group of us girls. I'm so glad she made a reservation! We walked into a beautiful, lively room with live piano music and beautiful views of the river. It was a very busy Thursday night (at the start of the music festival and Home & Garden tour); the staff was hustling, but were still attentive and welcoming. It's She Crab season, and I started with the She Crab soup. Delicious! My entrée was the crab cake from the appetizer section - also very good. Lots of crab meat, minimal filler. It will become a "must-stop" on every future trip I make to Savannah.

Fantastic food. Cindy had the she crab soup and the crab, shrimp and oyster stew. Both were amazing. Both had plenty of seafood. The only thing was the stew had a few too many potatoes. I had the buttermilk fried chicken, mash potatoes and green beans. I loved it. The chicken was boneless and skinless. It was juices and had great flavor. We will definitely b3 back on our next visit.

On Sundays you have a choice of lunch/brunch buffet or ordering from the menu. It's all well-prepared and authentic. Sitting on either the river or city side is charming but requires an early enough arrival.

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel as we were looking for an upscale place for a nice meal that evening. After declining possibly the worse table in the restaurant we were seated at a table of our choice. My spouse ordered the shrimp and grits which was on the sweet side and disappointing. I ordered the lamb shank and found that the sauce was so overpowering that it cancelled out the flavour of the lamb. As compensation we were offered the usual "free dessert" which was a basic choice item on their part and then told by our waiter that their other dessert choices were "awesome". After paying $100 for this meal, we left very disappointed. We will not return nor will we recommend this restaurant.

A perfect place to unwind with terrific service and wonderful Southern hospitality. I had a lovely linner: lunch and dinner combined. My meal consisted of boneless short rib sandwich. They put a fried onion ring that brought it home to yummy-ville. I had to be careful my husband didn't finish my sandwich. His crab salad was just a touch lite on the crab.

We kind of wandered our way into this spot but were very pleased. The menu was good w/ lots of options. Prices are a bit high- but worth it for good quality food. As a vegetarian I am always happy when restaurants have options for that as well. Nice view from the dining room of the river. Service was great, not stuffy or snobby. I ordered the crab cakes to start which were delicious. I also ordered the veggie plate/ salad thing- which wasn't what I expected, but better. VERY delicious! Nice wine selection. Clean bathrooms. You can also visit their cafe downstairs for coffee drinks, teas, and more.

Four of us went for dinner on Thursday evening. Place was quite busy; aside from all the tables being served, the restaurant had two private affairs going. That slowed down the kitchen service some, yet our waiter, James, made sure we were taken care of and happy. For appetizers we ordered Oysters Rockefeller ($12, five oysters, excellent), Crawfish Beignets ($10, pastry overwhelmed the filling); and calamari (small serving, feta cheese a nice touch). For dinner I substituted a bowl of she-crab soup for my salad; a work colleague had highly recommended it, and the soup lived up to its billing: the soft, velvety soup, really a bisque, was magnificent, and filled with crabmeat and roe. I also ordered the southern seafood bouillabaisse (I found the smoked tomato broth took away, rather than added, to the dish, its strong taste dominating the seafood). Others ordered the fried wild Georgia shrimp and oysters, the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake (with only traces of breading and an amazing 97% crab), and Jumbo Scallops. They all liked their dishes. For dessert two of us shared a Praline Cheesecake, delicious topping, the cake itself a bit dense. Sunday six of us went for lunch. We were seated at a table close to the front. MJ, our waitress was bubbly and outgoing. All three couples shared she-crab soups, each served in attractive small oval bowls. Laura ordered the shrimp and grits, and found the rosemary barbecue sauce too sweet; alas, she could not get the attention of our waitress to ask for hot sauce.I ordered the crab, shrimp and oyster stew, which was served in the she-crab bisque; I really liked it. Overall I give Vic's four stars. It has room to improve, but it is outstanding. Service is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful; it has a positive vibe and feels comfortable. When I go back to Savannah, I will go back to Vic's. I highly recommend it.

I went to Vics on the River with a group of 14 girls on a bacjelorette party weekend getaway. We made the reservation weeks in advance, and they were ready for us upon arrival. The atmosphere was sophisticated and inviting and the food was great. They had a vast drink menu, soups, salads, entrees and desserts. The food was a bit privey, but it was delicious! The server was a little rude, but I won't hold it against the restaurant!

Polite staff but the service left something to be desired. Our food took forever to get to us. Our waiter apologized, blaming the kitchen and promised to comp our desert. Well he comped only one desert and charged for the coffee. The worst thing is the portion size of my bouillabaisse was tiny. It's a $30 entree and I left the restaurant hungry. It was supposed to come with rice and without exaggeration there was like 3 tablespoons of rice. I would not go back.
