Quick bite turned into a long wait. Drinks made it better. Food was nothing special. Felt bad for wait staff kitchen backed up.

We ate several times are bar for lunch and dinner because it was such great weather. The tables by the railing offer a great view of the river. The Crabcake sandwich was great along with the fried green tomatoes and mahi sandwich. We had breakfast once and it was not disappointing. The bartenders are very accommodating and friendly. Excellent place for drinks and lunch or dinner. Nothing fancy, just good.

We always sit outside and enjoy a margarita! Ate lunch, I had fried chicken sandwich. It was so big I could only eat half of it. My hubby had a burger. Staff is friendly. Very reasonably priced

We went there for lunch on a busy Saturday. The crab stew, the fried green tomatoes, and shrimp and grits were excellent! Nice selection of local craft beers, too! We waited 35 minutes for a table which was exactly how long the hostess said the wait would be. Our waiter was awesome - knowledgeable, attentive and personable. We'll be back!

We only ate there for Breakfast but I can tell you it was a very good breakfast. I would try their other meals but we only had a limited time and there are just so many to choose from. Service was great and quick. Great view of the river.

Recommended to go for local family place to eat. Loved the location. Food was good. Restaurant unique for someone not from the east coast. Would recommend to others who visit Savannah. Crab cakes, hush puppies, onion rings were great... yes, deep fried goodness.

My family had dinner here one night while walking around River Street. The food was very good and came out quickly. Our server, Keith, was very knowledgeable about what to try. We never had to ask for anything. He provided all that we needed to enjoy our meal. Only issue we had was a dirty fork and a sticky table. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Only negative thing is the birds (which nobody can help that) I would recommend this place!

Had lunch at Tubbys... we enjoyed the grouper and ship baskets we ordered and the fries were OK. The service was pretty attentive... but, the bloody marys were out very good. We will go back.

I have become a crab cake snob over the years from all over the country and think these are tied for first if not the best!! Great experience!! Overlooks the water on second level! Can't wait to come back!

I had the crab legs. They were hot all the way through. They were seasoned and came with corn on the cob and hush puppies and one side. It was a lot of food! I also had the fried green tomatoes. They were good too. Next time I will hold the feta as I did not eat it. The view was good as well. It was another great day in Savannah, GA.

We had dinner there tonight. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was the long wait...nearly an hour for a table. The salad was fresh and beautiful. Hubby had fried oysters and was very pleased. I had the seafood duo and chose shrimp and a crab-cake. I got 6 big shrimp. One huge crab-cake, fried, coleslaw and hush puppies. The mole' sauce was great on the crab-cake. Everything was great.

We were looking for somewhere to grab a "quick" lunch while strolling the Riverside, and on a busy weekend, this proved difficult. We were able to get a porch table at Tubby's after not too long of a wait, and it was nice to sit and take in the sights of the street and river while we waited for lunch. Waitstaff was friendly and prompt, and all of the food (mostly fried!) was very good -- had my first Fried Green Tomatoes and Hushpuppies ever here! The porch was dog-friendly, and that proved to be fun entertainment to see the pups enjoy themselves too.

Juan was our server. Very pleasant and helpful with our choices. Onion rings are delicious. Shrimp and grits really good and crab stew flavorful.

Carl is a great waiter. Very personable and worked really hard to ensure you were satisfied. You could tell he had been there a long time as he gave the impression he ran the place. Now the food was pretty good too. My wife and I both commented on the freshness of the fish and shrimp. The fish was light and flaky and fried perfectly. The crab dip was out of bounds. Would definitely go back again.

What a great place to sit and people watch AND watch huge ships arrive and depart the port. See my photos of the mega container ship. When a ship goes by you can buy a $1 shot of what looked like green bug juice, but it was a fun thing to do! Our steamed shrimp platter was divine and the bartender made good drinks. Be sure to sit by the balcony railing so you have the best views of the river and the people walking by below.

We visited Savannah for a day trip while staying in Hilton Head and were looking for a place to eat between our day time trolley tour and night ghost tour and chose Tubbys as we were on River Street anyway. We were able to dine outside on the second floor deck which was nice and they had live music which was also enjoyable. However the food was average at best. I ordered the shrimp which came with hush puppies (which the waitress forgot and I had to ask for them twice), a cold ear of corn, and mac & cheese that was so dried out and crusty I could hardly eat it. My husband's and daughter's dishes were comparable - average and not worth the price. The shrimp was ok but way over seasoned. If we ever get back to Savannah, we would choose somewhere else to try.

Typically we try to avoid the obvious tourist spots which is hard to do in Savannah but the balcony overlooking the river looked like a nice place to grab a bite. The young man at the reception was not exactly a "host" but did manage to seat us promptly at a table with a view as I requested. Service was friendly, food was OK at best. Overall I was happy that there were no nasty surprises like a long wait, indifferent staff, terrible food as one typically experiences at a spot like this. As long as your expectations are not too high enjoy the location and people watching that this restaurant provides.

Stopped by for lunch today on our overnight trip. Caught happy hour. I had superb fried green tomatoes and boiled shrimp. My wife had crab chowder that was delicious. It's a great place to rest and watch the incoming and out going container ships. If you drink - they have $1 ship shots when a ship goes by.

Enjoyed our dinner so much we came back next day for lunch. Enjoyed dining outside overlooking river. Individual space heaters above tables help take the chill off. Prices were reasonable comparatively speaking.
