I met there a lot of locals with whom I was hanging out the rest of my stay in Miami. There's a karaoke night every Thursday. It was my Birthday and the bartender paid for me and my friends one drink. It's small place with a nice atmosphere. If you don't like crowded clubs where you cannot hear a word, this place is right for you!

Stumbled across this place one night when we were staying in Miami South Beach. We were impressed by the interior and all the weird and wonderful props on the walls. They were also playing a few decent tunes, mainly 80's stuff. The guy behind the bar looked a bit miserable but it might of been down to the fact that a category 5 hurricane was predicted to hit Miami at the end of the week. Either way, we had a chilled night, listened to some decent tunes and had a few good quality beers. We also called in on a monday night and got hit on by some gay men. It didn't bother me because I'm 100% heterosexual and thought it was funny. However it might of made some people feel a bit uncomfortable. I only realised the next day that Monday night has a drag act on so it all made sense.

This place was amazing. My friends and I lucked up on this spot due to a nearby place closing. The drinks were on special and the staff was great. The bartender was the emcee for the Eye Candy Doll drag show which was very entertaining. My friend was celebrating her birthday and the bartender had the whole bar singing to her, bought her a drink and gave her a fan. If in South Beach, check them out.

Wednesday is ladies night, all women get six tickets to redeem for well drinks (house liquor plus mixer or PBR). Then PBR drafts are only $3. Cheap find and decent vibe.

I had an amazing time when I visited this spot during my vacation in April 2017. The drag shows are so good and the drinks are strong. A must see attraction when visiting Miami Beach.

I was kind of tired of all the commercial vibe of the clubs around and KYI came as a nice surprise. Small intimate atmosphere, friendly staff, cheap drinks and a great crowd. I went by myself and still had a blast.

Well we walked in after being carded at the door only to be totally ignored by the bartenders......I called for the husband called for the bartender but instead both guys totally ignored the fact that we were standing directly in front of them at the bar and continued to service other guests around us so after being ignored for like 5-10 minutes we decided to leave because at first we really thought maybe they were just super busy naaaaahhhh they just enjoyed ignoring their guests...strange....but it's cool we went and spent our money elsewhere :)

Its a nicely decorated bar with a dive bar vibe. It's long and skinny with a small bar and a few couches. There is music and some cool drink specials. I met some local men here who seem to frequent this place to pick up on women travelers. It's a small bar in which it could seem crowded quickly but a good place to meet up for a quieter drink.

My friend and I were looking for a laid back bar and found it at Kill Your Idol. Kitschy/offbeat in the best way possible, and the bartender was great. We had our own dance party. Great vibe.

Definitely a unique location. Stopped in here with a few friends for our last night in Miami. Cheap drinks and friendly staff, but a very small location, very unique musical selections, and an atmosphere that was too dark to hang out and chat, but too small and bright to dance around. Ultimately, this place was not so much my style - a quirky location. Consider this the opposite of the typical Miami clubbing scene. Worth stopping in but not my first choice.

This bar is my home from home - it's relaxed and not commercial - you know it's good when SoBe locals go there. Karlos the bar tender is the best bar tender in the whole of Miami (if not the world) he pours the best gin and blends kraken and lime perfectly. His selection of hats also make him legendary. The music is great, and there wasn't one nasty person in the place. If your looking for a pretentious bar where you can pose this isn't for you, but if you want to meet loads of new people and have a good time then pay this place a visit. Enjoy - see you next time.

My friend and I left a bar on NYE and on our way back to the hotel, we heard a song by Blur coming out from this bar...and we got in...and left 4 hours later. It was fantastic, so much fun...there were just a few people, but everyone was really friendly, music was great...we had so much fun...

Tourists and locals alike can step back in time when they visit this bar. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall when you look in the window. But when you walk in, look up, and you see the history of South Beach on the ceiling, on the walls, behind the bar. Instead of a sports bar with multiple TVs you get cult movies on a movie screen, an upstairs VIP area, and a DJ with old school hit music or a live band. The bar features a menu from Alibi's next door, if you're hungry, or you can have ginger beer and KYI's homemade cupcakes! Hard-to-find beers include IPA's, Guinness bottles, a good draft selection, good cocktails, and bartenders are so busy you think they're on roller skates. Two unisex bathrooms are basic, or you can glide over next door to the sister bar, Lost Weekend, to play pool or see the sports channel if you need that. Between the happy hours, monthly birthday parties and live bands, KYI is a cool place to chill out with friends, a spouse, or solo. Unlike the title, though, it's not a punk band, it's a cool bar in the middle of SoBe.

This was definitely a highlight of our 48 hour Miami adventure. We loved Kill Your Idol so much that we returned here on our second (and last) night in Miami. The first evening was just us four Aussies and our awesome bartender for about an hour before more people started to trickle in. Because everyone else is off being touristy on Ocean Drive, this hip little joint is a lot more low key. We had some great chats (where we didn't have to yell over music or drunken patrons) with each other and our new friend, Chris. We must have been the luckiest travellers in history as the first night was 2-4-1 and the second night was ladies night. Winning. There is so much to love about this place, great service especially, but amazing atmosphere oozing from the eclectic decor and the sweet tunes. Upon our return to Miami sometime in the future, we will hunt this place down again. Cheers! Or rather Salud!

Stopped in this little dive bar a couple of times for the happy hour, half price drinks from 8-10. Bartender was super friendly, drinks were good. Starts to get busy around 10.

Me and a couple of friends were staying in Miami and wanted to go to a bar that wasn't too expensive and had a vibe similar to what we would find back home in the UK. A search on trip advisor brought this place up and we were glad we found it! Reasonably priced drinks, a kung foo film in the background, games to keep us entertained behind the bar... It was really quiet because of the night/time we went but that only meant we had really good service from the bartender who we were chatting to for ages. Got talking to the others in the bar too and ended up having a great night! Just next door to lost weekend which I would also recommend.

Walked into this venue expecting it to be busy for their Glitter-Box Mondays Event. It was a younger crowd which was nice to see on a Monday. However the venue itself was extremely small. The bar was crowded and they only had one bartender actually working, the other bartender kept stepping out for a smoke break. It was an Okay experience, expected more out of a promotional event. Drinks were watered down and 7-8 bucks each.

This tiny, quirky dive bar offers cheep drinks and beer. Apart from that you'll find here some quite extraordinary people, good music, concerts and bizarre movies displayed continuously in the background. Definitely a must for any dive bar addict ;-)
