After walking there surprised To find it not open! Really nothing to see, apart from the view over to the Lincoln Memorial, which was memorable. When open I should imagine that the views are amazing!

Its a nice big tower, with a triangle on the top.We didn't go inside, just from the bus.A nice place to visit in the evenings especially to see the Lincoln memorial during sunset.

The monument itself is a site to see but is closed for elevator repairs till at least 2019 per rangers. You can still walk up to the monument and stand next to it and touch it just cant go inside. It you look at the monument itself the the stones are two different colors due to it not being finished all at once. Many picture opportunities of the monument and others from this site.

When one thinks about Washington DC this is clearly one of the iconic sites that come to mind. You can enjoy the beauty of the monument from many places around the city but it is also one to see close up.

The monument is closed indefinitely right now but it was still neat to see. Very big and the area is nice to sit and take a breather.

We did not want to pay to go up to the monument but if you absolutely must have a picture from high above since there are no helicopter tours available due to the restricted airspace then by all means make sure you go up the monument and take your pictures otherwise if you want just some cool shots from the outside so you can move on and explore the rest of the monuments the National Mall has to offer, walk up to it touch it make it real for you and go on about your business as there is lots to see here

Ample open space with the hyper famous obelisc. Nothing special but the place is so famous (and it is clean and with the nice waterf space) that is worthy to see ir.

The thing is so incredible. It's no more than an hour of your day (and that's stretching it) and it's a beautiful thing to look at.

Such a tall monument, can be seen for miles, surrounded by lovely gardens, completely free to visit and has some lovely buildings near it

Unfortunately the monument is closed for repairs through 2019. We'll just have to go back...one can walk for here to the WWII monument then to Lincoln's. Beware of geese poop as your walking along the reflection pool.

We were on a tour, we could see the monument from our coach approaching Washington, its a lovely sight. We never went right up to it as on tours time is limited.

Probably the most prominent monument in DC which stands out within the compound of a park. Access is closed until 2019 as the monument undergoes repair, but you can still marvel at the immense structure from the exterior.

It was awesome to see the monument for one self. It was however closed for renovations for an undefined period. Would like to visit it again once it's opened for tours again.

Ever since my daughter was little she wanted to touch the Washington Monument. It was fantastic to take her and watch her stand touching the monument...even in the pouring rain! The monument is awe inspiring and a very serene place to be.

Took a walking tour, self guided, around DC last weekend. The parks near the monument were great. Such a wonderful time just leisurely exploring Washington DC. Loved that there were so many things to see all in close walking distance from the monument.

The interior of the monument is currently closed for maintenance but we still found it worthy of a visit while recently in D.C. It's nestled among the National Mall, Lincoln Memorial and White House, so there really is no reason to avoid it if yo're in the area, despite it being closed. You can still walk up and touch it, photograph it and say you visited such an iconic symbol of America.
