The atmosphere here is very warm and friendly. We were greeted by friendly staff who helped us choose the best menu item EVER! The problem is that I can't remember the exact name of the dish cut it was a special and had many types of seafood, rice and a coconut curry sauce that was so delicious. I loved this dish and would order it again. Also got a lime/rum drink that was delish. We almost ate here twice on our short stay in DC. LOVED it!

Two of us visited this restaurant with a recommendation. Our waiter was extremely friendly and entertaining. I had the Brazilian Paella and was deliriously happy with the flavors. We had a Brazilian cocktail that was so different and tasty. My friend also enjoyed her seafood dish tremendously. If I lived here, I would visit this restaurant weekly. I only wish I could take it home with me!!

We have been going to the Grill for years, and it’s about time I write a review! There are a lot of options in the neighborhood, but we always end up there. The drinks are great, typical Brazilian, my favorites are the “batidas” which can be made with a number of different fruit. Passionfruit is worth trying. The brunch menu is a great deal, with a lot to choose from. It comes with a soup or salad, a main course, desert, and a drink. Come hungry as it is a lot of food! We always like to share an appetizer plate of fried yucca and sausage. The staff is always very friendly, and service is great. it is a big restaurant, and we never had to wait for a table, or very long for our meal. Across the street is a nice neighborhood park, which is great if you’re coming with kids!

Nice place. Nice welcome and nice staff. But the food was very dissapoi ting. The Brazilian stew that seems to excite people was completely bland. Honestly, I rustle up more interesting stuff in my own kitchen without trying too hard. We both agreed that the food, whilst being reasonable portions, was nothing special at all. All a bit dissapointing really.

7 of us went on a Friday night at 8 pm. We got tapas (appetizers) - the coxinha de galinha (chicken croquettes) were tasty- and we waited and waited for our main course. The restaurant closed its doors at 9 pm and we were the last ones there-- finally the food came at 9:30. I had the frango ao alho (grilled chicken breast with garlic) and the food was delicious-- just very late.

I had dinner at the Grill with my family. It was my first time to a Brazilian restaurant. Though I was not sure what to expect, the food turned out to be great. The chicken was wonderful. No one should miss this. Similarly, my wife and son ordered the mussels and the beef grill. The beef was particularly great. The yuca fry is worth a try. When I returned home and checked the bill, only to find that they had charged me for the "mango mousse" which the waiter informed us was not available that evening (8/12). We, hence, decided to share the chocolate mouse amongst the three of us.

This place was in a way a new find for us. We have been here a few times, but never for brunch... what a find!! For $22.00 you get a three course lunch special that includes soup or salad, and entree and a dessert. They also throw in a mimosa, champagne or a soft drink, your choice. Please have the Grouper dish!!

I went with my friends and the restaurant is awesome. On the Thursday and Sunday they have samba, jazz and bossa nova (Brazilian musics). Also Tthey have a lote of typical Brazilian food like "coxinha" "feijoada" and another options. Usually we had a good waitress but some times we picked a rude waitress.

My wife and I ate there for my birthday. It was a balmy evening and we ate al fresco. It was a lovely evening. The food was outstanding! The services were equally as outstanding. Th he food is Brazilian and there were numerous choices on the menu. We passed it last week and I had favorable flashbacks of the food. If you have the opportunity, go. You won't regret it.

This restaurant is top notch in SO many ways. We were a big noisy group, and they accommodated us so nicely, and I know we had to be a handful. The drinks were flowing, the incredible food kept coming and they didn't miss a beat! All of our food was outstanding, in presentation, portion sizes and flavor and taste! The alligator was a hit, so was the chocolate dessert! Well done for a family owned restaurant, can't wait to come back!

My companion chose a far better meal than I. The dish chosen often determines how an establishment is rated. My choice, omelet, just so-so. Her choice, fish stew - phenomenal. Brunch had many choices. Service very good considering how busy it was at the time. Endless mimosas available with brunch.

The Feijoada was amazing and you have to try it! It is my new favorite dish. The service was super friendly and they make a mean caipirinha to boot.

I don't know if it was because the rice with beans from "Baião de Dois", but I fell in love with the restaurant. Nice atmosphere, brazilian music playing, tasty food, 25 years of experience and good price for money.

Local here in DC and come to Grill from Ipanema a few times each year. Love the "Brazilian Paella," Moqueca, and Caprinha. The restaurant has been an Adams Morgan mainstay since the early 90s and is run by Chef Alcy De Souza and his wife.

A friend and I went this past Sunday for their Halloween brunch. The food was pretty good, except the three desserts were lacking. We were told that soda and juice was included in the $29.99 brunch price but that alcoholic drinks were not. I ordered a diet Coke and was surprised that when the bill came, I was charged $7 for the Coke (which the waiter confirmed I needed to pay despite having told me otherwise) and that an 18% gratuity was added in - and mandatory for the brunch service. Really?!?! Ridiculous. I paid the bill, but then went up to the hostess station and spoke with a really nice woman named Raquel who said I should not have been charged for the Coke. She wrote on a business card that I had a $7 credit to use on a future business. (But what about the 18% charged to the $7 I paid for the Coke???) I liked the restaurant, but left feeling like they trt to take advantage of customers.

Great selection of food and drink. Steaks and sea food selections in Brazilian preparation. Good drink choices. Friendly staff. Had the seafood stew with mixed seafood - mussels, clams, squid, scallops, fish - in a clay bowl. Arrived bubbling hot at the table - wish I could post the video I took because it looked and was deliciously spiced. Came back again next night with large group. Well staffed and friendly service. Steak was a bit thin but delicious. Nice experience.

Don't be put off if it doesn't look busy when you arrive! We got there about 8.30 and there weren't many people in but it soon filled up. Be guided by the waiter as some of dish titles are not very clear. Lovely evening

This was my second visit to Ipanema and it was as good as I remembered from a year ago. The food is very fresh. My party of five ordered a variety of dishes and we were all delighted with our choices. The food was delicious. The waiter was very helpful and his recommendations were very helpful. We all hope to return to the restaurant in the future.
