This tiki bar is so over-the-top, it transcends from tacky into the realm of cool.

Mean Tiki bar with original and fun cocktails. Guaranteed to impress your date and to have a great time. Very tight space, however.

Offering an inviting Caribbean atmosphere, the Tiki bar provides a new approach to rum by featuring it in a unique collection of traditional cocktails and classic libations of Prohibition-era Havana as well as its own mix of fun, fruity drinks.

Rum selection is wide and their cocktail concoctions are memorable. Ambience is cheeky but works - Tiki concept transports you to visions of islands and pirates and coconut trees.

You would never know from the outside that you were stepping into a dark pirate's hideaway!! I love rum anyway and I had two of the BEST rum cocktails I have ever had in my life. Sorry, I can't remember their names! LOL

First the bar is very inconspicuous from the front so beware not to pass it by. Inside it's great with a pirate theme! Cocktails were delicious and the bar staff were great at taking the time to find out what tastes you like in order to make a recommendation! Bar staff also try the cocktails before serving which always makes me think they know what they are doing! Highly recommend!

Awesome decor and amazing drinks! Hard to find because it has an unassuming entrance, but worth the search. The basement level is a great place to chill!

You really do feel like you've been transported back to a time when pirates roamed the seas! And the drink menu, which I believe is at least ten pages long, has old favorites as well as new creations.

Cool place to visit. No big sign on the door, however, much worth the experience. Rum drinks were very good. Visited with my son and his girlfriend. Highly recommended just for the ambieance and novelty of the bar.

The Tiki Bar has an excellent selection of rum flights and cocktails. The crowds build up on weekends. The staff is really fun and professional. There's no tv or jukebox. There's music played. The kind of music from Sirius #69. Great place to drink in style

It's already crowded enough! Killer rum punches and giant rum bowls to share with friends. The decor, the hideaway location, the drinks. This place is so cool.

Dark and inviting, just like a cove. Many different drinks to choose from carefully crafted. People are friendly everyone enjoying the experience. No food is served.

Very purposefully hidden, the moment you find it, it's like you stepped into another dimension. The drink list fits their Tiki mentallity, noticing many drinks on the menu native to the Virgin Islands where I lived for a few years. Awesome atmosphere based on the small space they are working with. Hard to imagine it could be pulled off any better.

Three floors of awesomeness! Decor is definitely Pirates of the Caribbean esque! The hubby & I settled in on the lower level & that's when the fun began... By fun I mean cocktails galore! The bartenders were amazing! Friendly and helpful with the menu! Our first round consisted of The Mastodon $14 for me (rum, bourbon, pineapple, lime, passion fruit, licor 43 & maraschino liqueur) and the Dead Reckoning hubby (rum, pineapple, fresh lemon, vanilla liqueur, maple, tawny port & Angostura bitters). Both were fabulous! Next round we wanted something a wee bit stronger so he opted for the Zombie $17 (various rums, fresh lime, fresh grapefruit, fresh brains lol, island spices & Herbsaint) omg this is a strong one!! I had the Puka Punch $16 (various rums, fresh lime, fresh orange, pineapple, honey, passion fruit, falernum & bitters) strong but super delicious! Let's just say I was done after that. The hubby went on to have one last Zombie. We sat near the water & just had a great time. It's noisy but intimate. We wanted to get a punch bowl but all of the tables were taken & you have to have a table for that. This is for sure a hidden gem for the locals. We stayed until they closed & Uber was there swiftly. Will definitely be back.

Went here with as a group of 6 after dessert, around 10 and had to wait for a short period of time outside the bar. After a relatively short wait, we went inside into a dimly lit three floor bar. Bar counters are on the second and first floor (downstairs). The top floor has around the wall seating, middle has standing room (I didn't notice tables), and downstairs has a similar situation as the top floor, but holds more than the top. There isn't a lot of standing room, so while we were waiting for a table, we felt like we were in the way of a lot of people. Top down: small>medium>large The menu is huge! Good mixes, but it took awhile for our orders to be made because of the line. Two friends got their drinks faster on the upper bar counter. I'd scout the amount of people to optimize time. Be prepared to snipe seats when people leave and waiting for drinks. Ambiance is nice, but because it's a little small, can be hard to hear if you aren't close to each other.

Wow what a great little cocktail bar, a little out of the way but the taxi drivers know where it is! The mai tai's are to die for. It is only a very small place over three levels but it has a wonderful atmosphere.

This place is unreal. Sets its self apart because of the dedication and love that went into building this concept. Over 70 cocktails and 400 rums. Hands down best tiki bar in the world

Get there early, or be prepared to stand in a queue. Even before the bar (Tiki-Bar) opened, there was already a line to get in. It is a small venue with three levels. All drinks are rum based. Wonderful atmosphere, a bit dark but intimate. This is a very popular after-work hangout.

Wow what a cool spot! Did not expect this! It's an all (rum) cocktail bar, there's also an upstairs and downstairs area. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they know their cocktails! A bit of a pirate vibe, a must go to bar!

Pointless trip really as I'm not a cocktail fan. Strange place. Like a pirates bar. Doorman told me it's one of the best bars in the world. Lie. I can see it mainly being for tourists. Worth a visit. Not signed up well so keep eyes open.

I visited here for Tiki cocktails with my wife and my boss about a month ago, while we were visiting SF for vacation. Living in Chicago, I am a fan of Lost Lake and Three Dots & a Dash here, but Smuggler's Cove is even more "authentic" harking back to the early Barbary Coast and Trader Vic's days. Our bartender was extremely informative on the drinks, and different rums and their histories. So much more than just a cocktail bar, this is a destination for fans of Tiki drinks around the world.

So, I have the Smuggler's Cove Cocktail book and have been wanting to check out the space for awhile now. It did not disappoint! I arrived about 10 min before it opened and there was already a small line at the door. The bar itself is very small so if that's where you want to sit get there early, about 7 seats. It's definitely worth it to see the bartenders mix up their rummy concoctions. Their happy hour lasts from 5-6 with drinks discounted anywhere from $1-2. I had three in the hour I was there and honestly could have had more. Each one was unique and delicious. I started to with the Hot Buttered Rum to ward off the San Francisco chill and then moved on to the Roselita (candied hibiscus flower wow) and finished with the Lei Lani Volcano 2.0 (my favorite, homemade coconut creme yes please). My bartender, Chad D, was fast, entertaining, and knowledgeable. He made me a very happy and drunk lady! The ambiance was perfect for a date or a hang out. Dimly lit, tiki music, nautical knick knacks everywhere. Fun and casual. They also have souvenir tiki glasses for sale. They also have a massive rum selection and a tasting program for regulars. I will be back! Cheers and Mahalo!

Small, but really cool Tiki themed spot with delicious drinks! Was in town with colleagues and we stopped in for a few rounds. We all enjoyed our different cocktails and shared a very instagrammable Volcano Bowl or 2. I'd go back for sure!
