Went here for a Sunday brunch with large group. Many many choices ranging from fresh fruits, vegetables, several salads, vegetarian mousaka, tender tender lamb, lighter than air scrambled eggs, saffron rice pudding, bread pudding, ginger soup, mashed sweet potatoes appetizingly arranged. Attentive service. Definitely will go back.

We visited several times over a couple of days. We were on a lunch break from a seminar and were able to walk in with a sizable group and find seating. This was a repeat visit from a few years ago and we found the quality very consistent over that time. It is a small Middle Eastern restaurant with covered outdoor seating that tends to be a little busy over the lunch hour but not unpleasantly so. The feature is a good Middle Eastern buffet which, for the sake of vegetarians, has lots of beautiful roasted vegetables, tasatsaki, hummus, a number of salads, several meat dishes, a vegetarian moussaka some breads and other offerings. The service was prompt and friendly and we had good conversation across the table. Prices and very reasonable and represent good value.

This is a good place to come if you have a diverse group of picky eaters. I work nearby and we have vegans vegetarians lactose intolerant gluten free paleo carnivores you name it, and everyone can agree on this place. There are healthy options and carbs and fats if you want them. Mediterranean California style for the most part.

Folks come here for one reason, buffet brunch. This is an excellent choice if you want to have a delicious meal without waiting in the famous Oakland brunch lines. The large outdoor seating area allows for small intimate conversations as a couple and a large party corner section to meet up as a group. The wait staff and friendly and compassionate towards the needs of couples with babies as well as families with seniors. That being said, it has plenty of Oakland's fun funky flavor. If you want to enjoy a day by the lake this is your first stop. Oh! and don;t forget to order a turkish coffee! If coffee is not your thing, their mint lemonade is excellent!

After birding at nearby Lake Merritt, we walked to Bacheeso's for a late brunch. The crowd was very eclectic, but that was nothing compared to the buffet. I expected some Mediterranean fare, and I was not disappointed. However, the French Toast was quite a surprise, as was the decidedly non-halal bacon and ham. Several veggie dishes were part of the spread, including two delicious soups. A good place to know about if you bird at Lake Merritt.

Bacheesos on Grand Avenue in Oakland is a great place to have a hearty, well-rounded meal prepared in the best sort of cooking style (Mediterranean). Their buffets typically feature 3 types of meat and at least one fish (frequently Salmon), multiple salads, many vegetable dishes, numerous sides and desserts. Vegetables are abundant! Roasted vegetables are very tasty, with sides of hummus, pita, avocado, etc. -- also delicious. I had to go back for more Moussaka, which was prepared in the classic Greek style (white sauce rather than tomato sauce). Delicious! Bring an appetite because it's a buffet.

I read some reviews and the place looked sort of average, but they advertised Turkish coffee, so I couldn't pass up the chance to go. I was there for a Saturday Brunch and was pretty jazzed at finding the extensive buffet with some very nice choices... some things were quite good, some average, but nothing was bad... except the house coffee... which is never a substitute for Turkish coffee made in a brass pot. But hey, next time I'm in town, I'm going back... just gotta have that coffee.

Our family has gone to Bacheesos several times and we have never been disappointed. We have taken guests visiting from Korea and our vegetarian kids and there has been plenty on the menu to satisfy all tastes. My favorites are the caprese salad and the falafel. You MUST try the falafel! It is incredible! To top it off, we have always had friendly, helpful service. Next time you are in the mood for Mediterranean give Bacheesos a try.

We enjoyed a lovely outdoor dinner here along with bottomless mimosas. The service here was flawless and the night we dined included a belly dancer as well.

Good food, very friendly, most excellent hummus - so much better than what you buy at the grocery store. We eat dinner there a few times a year. The lunch time buffet was incredible - so much good food - I went to the buffet about a year ago, so I hope it is the same.

Recently enjoyed the weekend buffett with a friend. I was surprised at how affordable it was ($10.99 each for two trips to the buffett). The cuisine is mediterranean, Greek - Egyptian fusion of sorts. Saffron-infused grilled salmon, stuffed peppers, mouth-watering eggplant multiple ways. The server was prompt with our beverages (great Turkish coffee) but otherwise left us alone. We didn't even get a check, just left the money on the table.

Food is blah with nothing outstanding or note worthy. Outdoor seating is interesting but influenced by homeless hanging about and smokers. Staff is iffy, depends on who and when. Not consistent.

Fabulous Mediterranean food. Great service. Patio dining with your dog. Love their hummus! And the gelato is good too :)
