It breaks my heart when I come across quality tourists cramming n'th grade restaurants to be stuffed with kebaps of dubious nature, unfortunately those places are abundant in Istanbul, especially in touristic quarters. So heres my contribution to those unlucky souls who deserve better. The place is called Durumcu Emmi, may be translated as "uncle wrapper" , is situated in Kadıkoy on tha Asian side, facing Kadıkoy fire brigade station. I would recommend "Beyran soup" a speciality of Gaziantep district of Turkey, especially in cold weather since it is fattier than most soups and contains garlic and pepperoni. But the taste stays in your mouth. Kebaps are all good, my favourite being " patlicanli kebap" or "kebap with aubergines" an excellent taste and you can have waiters to prepare the pieces of aubergines for your consumption. The place is 24 /7 which is another proof of its quality. Beyti kebap is also recommended and so is lahmacun " mince meat pizza" . The place does justice to the taste and quality of Turkish food. Bon apetite

I have been here a several times since almost 1.5 years now, the food was food the first time and ever since, I am always craving for their really good soup (Beyran - a sheep neck soup..?) whatever/however they made it... it... reminds me terribly of a soup my grandmother used to make when I was a kid... this is comfort soul food to me. A squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of chilly flakes and you're ready. I love this soup. I hope the quality and taste will be consistent, they have so far not failed me yet for the 5th time we're there. Servers do not speak much English but they try to accomodate you. I would love to bring my father here one day when he visits IST. Bravo with beyran soup. I've not had soup like that outside of home. Thank you.

Incredible authentic Turkish food. My husband and I went to have dinner there last week. Everything was beautiful: the service, the food, the place.... the staff are super friendly. Neither of us speaks Turkish, neither did the staff, but everyone was more than eager to help with any request. The food is to die for if you love home made Turkish cuisine. Very much highly recommended if you're visiting the Anatolian side.

This place is always packed and has such a local feel to it. Their portions are massive and taste amazing! I loved their chicken shish dish, the cheese pide, lahmacun and especially the kunefe dessert! Unbelievable - we kept going back!!

We chose this restaurant when we see a bunch of people in front of it. At the end we congratulate us that we took the decision to eat at Durumcu Emmi. It was hard to talk in English with the waiter, but we had the pictures of the food in front of us and we indicated with the tomb and everything was perfect after that. The soups Kelle Paca Corbasi and Beyran were excellent and the second dishes were more tasty than in the images! Even if the food was outstanding, we couldn't go further with the desert. But I look in other people plates and three of them from different tables offered me the opportunity to taste their food. Even if they look delicious I couldn't. Outside they are having valet parking in order to solve your car problem. If you want to taste a real Turkish food and an outstanding Turkish environment you must have a meal at Durumcu Emmi!

A friend of mine who is from took me there to have what he called "the best soup ever". I was really happy he took me there. The soup (beef soup) was incredible and the atmosphere very cozy.

Especially Beyran is my favourite 😉 Spicy and hot traditional soup from south east part of Turkey. The restaurant is opened 24 hours everyday and it is always full at nights. After having a great night in Kadıköy, in the first hours of the next day Beyran rocks 😍

Tipical restourant not distant from the center in the Asiatic side of Istanbul. Fast service, kind waiters and emplyee. Wonderful food where you can taste of the specialities of the turkish kitchen at a very cheap price. This is what you are looking for if you go in istanbul to taste and smell the traditions! Strongly raccomend it!!!

Had the pleasure of eating an exquisite late lunch here with my girlfriend. The dishes were classical Ottoman and Turkish, heavy on the sauce and meat giving you some amazing Kebab dishes. Very tasty and large portions. Staff was attentive, price was solid. Two thumbs up!

24/7 Unfortunately personal don't speak English or any other language except Turkish. Menu with pictures so it is not a problem to make choice, or use google translate =) Airan as a starter and tea for finish are for free. Cheap and tasty!

Soups are thick (in a good way), kebabs are fantastic with all kinds of Middle Eastern flavors. Could be too strong for those who can't enjoy exotic spices, but, for me, it was perfectly seasoned with vibrant foreign flavors. An Egyptian friend of mine also recommended the place because he liked it. I've visited about four times, and the place was always packed with people, mostly Turkish. Staffs are rather friendly. It's difficult to find the location for foreigners, but worth to try if you want some authentic, strong and vibrant flavors. No alcoholic drinks as far as I remember.

This is a 24/7 local favorite. I had read about the place, passed by it one night on my way back from a stroll through Bagdat street, and noticed the crowds of locals chowing down here at midnight. None of the waiters spoke English when I visited (there were at least 5 plus a few busboys) but I ordered based on why I had read on TA. Pache is definitely a hearty, filling soup (feel free to shred some of the complimentary bread into the soup if you like...) and the kebabs are some of the best that I have tried. Prices are decent too. Don't expect fancy décor or McHappy smiles; come for the food.

I've been there a couple of times. You should totally try the 'Beyran', a soup with beef slices. You get it served the minute after you ordered. Put some Limon in it and eat it with Roka! You should try the whole Sortiment. I had my best İskender there and the best kuzu Şiş (lamb meat pieces). You sit there in a overcrowded environment on small chairs with the view to Fenerbahçe Stadium. The other surroundings are not really worth to rest there. Just eat and enjoy. I gave them a 'Görüşürüz' a lot of times.

This is a very traditional Kebab House with an extremely delicious Paca soup - a must try! Even my husband who hates garlic loves this soup. Patlican Kebab (with aubergine / eggplant) and Adana Durum are also very tasty. Highly recommended.

Really I am lucky to live few metres from this place, because is the best paça I have ever tried in my life. Not only this dish, but also icli kofte, etli cig kofte, mercimek corba are amazing. Plus, the staff is nice and quick and it is open 24/7...can you ask for more?

My friend brought me to this place specifically to try the soup and I have already gone back twice in a month. I have not had anything else, but given the quality of this and the bread they bring with it, I would try anything. A testament to its quality is that you find all kinds of people eating there. It is not fancy at all but it doesn't need to be because of its delicious food.

A 24 hours open Kebab place! Try as many dishes as you can, onion kebab, firinda beyti (oven beyti) and Alinazik are my favorites. As a starter beyran soup (with lamp) is one of their favorites of this place, and katmer is a must for dessert! They are friendly, prices are ok and they're open for 24 hours!

I had dinner here with a group of friends, and, judging by the amount of customers, it seemed that they are doing many things right. I ordered a menu item that appeared at the table only AFTER all 6 of my other friends had *eaten and finished* their meals. After protesting this `with our waiter, and, in turn, informed by him that the kebap needed extra time to prepare, we were given free tea. In the end, the management was unapologetic and a bit arrogant. If they did not want to refund the meal, which was what we asked for, they should *at least* inform the customer of an extra-long wait time for this menu item. The sad thing is, the food was really quite good, but the service we encountered was disappointing enough to ensure that we won't be returning...the manager even went so far as to say, "go ahead and write a bad review. More publicity for us."
