When looking for a great coffee in Chiang Mai you can't go past this place. It's small but very popular with both locals and tourists. Friendly service and a strong blend that kept me visiting every morning.

Small cafe but serving very good bean. The aroma and after taste is good. Highly recommended. Can detour to one of the top wat - Wat Phra Singh

Great coffee. I've written a few other reviews - RISTR8TO still being the best coffee, but this place is also superb and very close to Wat Chiang Man Temple. I wouldn't stay for long as it's really small and the seats are little makeshift bins, so it's not very comfortable. But if you're looking for good coffee (possibly Stumptown, not sure), CHECK THEM OUT! Also, on the corner down the street towards the temple is a Greenbus ticket station if you're looking to buy bus tickets to Chiang Rai :)

Stumbled upon this place by accident the first morning we were in Chiangmai (not many things open at 8am) and we were totally surprised. They roast their own Thai coffee beans and make great coffee, which costs around 50 baht and there's free water. We came back several times and I would recommend this place to every coffee lover.

The interior was very hip and relaxed. There was free wifi and the ice coffee was pretty damn good and I don't like coffee.

We were walking to the Wat Phra-Singh temple, and along the way, stopped at this cafe for a coffee. It was fantastic - the place is air-conditioned (a great reflief from the humid weather), we had ice mocca that tasted great. They played nice music too. Thoroughly enjoyed the break here. Don't miss it if you pass by this place.

Almond milk, soya milk, coconut milk.... Why only use cows milk? You can buy it at the supermarket easy. I can't drink cows milk, it give me a rash. Apart from that coffee is great!

A small and nice cafe to hang out. Coffee and cakes are nice. Very limited selection on pastries. More for coffee

The coffee is wonderful. I had to go first thing every morning. It is probably the best Ihave come across in Thailand.

This is one of my favorite coffee places in Chiang Mai. I come here at least once a week. They also sell and grind coffee beans for you to take home. Must try!

We visited Akha Ama several times during our stay in Chiang Mai. The iced lattes were delicious. The pastries and baked goods were delicious.

If you love coffee, especially third wave, you must come to Alpha Ama Coffee in Chiang Mai. The coffee all comes from a Northern Thail village, where the founder is from. He has worked with roasters in the U.S. to perfect his brewing and roasting methods, which are phenomenal. It is hands down the best coffee I have had throughout my travels in SE Asia and Nepal. I have tried the ristretto, espresso macchiato, and my favorite the v60 pour over. My pour over was the Meelor, which was full bodied and rich. Akha Ama is a must go in Chiang Mai for the coffee lover. They also have a new second location in Old City! I went to both!

My wife and I went here after promises of great coffee, but were disappointed with the pleasant but toothless coffee served here. Probably OK if you like black coffee, but we're heathens and like milk in our coffee.

Locally sourced beans that are roasted by Akha Ama themselves and accompanied by kind and quality Thai service. We thoroughly enjoyed this craft coffee house. Didn't try their food - if there was any - but their lattes and shaken espresso + orange juice 'n peel drink was awesome. We also bought 2 bags of beans that had been roasted 4 days prior.

One of the many coffee shops that serve local coffee and some nice cakes with free water aside. I have tasted almost all of their coffees and some of the cakes, so take your favourite coffee and you will like it and take any of the cakes, and you will most likely find it too sweet. Cakes are quite large, so I mostly share one with a friend. - some places in with aircon, but I like to sit on the terrase in the shade of big trees.

Amazing place and coffee with a beautiful person and personal story behind it. Lee Ayu is part of the Slow Food Movement and supports the hill tribes with this coffee. If you are interested in sustainability and sustainable agriculture (which you should be) then this is the place for you to go and enjoy, aeropress, cold drip or you name it... There are two locations, one in old town very central and one in Santhitam.
