My wife and I went here after promises of great coffee, but were disappointed with the pleasant but toothless coffee served here. Probably OK if you like black coffee, but we're heathens and like milk in our coffee.

This is the best coffee shop in Chiang Mai. Don't miss it if you are in Chaing Mai. The coffee is origin and you can enjoy a great espresso here.

Locally sourced beans that are roasted by Akha Ama themselves and accompanied by kind and quality Thai service. We thoroughly enjoyed this craft coffee house. Didn't try their food - if there was any - but their lattes and shaken espresso + orange juice 'n peel drink was awesome. We also bought 2 bags of beans that had been roasted 4 days prior.

One of the many coffee shops that serve local coffee and some nice cakes with free water aside. I have tasted almost all of their coffees and some of the cakes, so take your favourite coffee and you will like it and take any of the cakes, and you will most likely find it too sweet. Cakes are quite large, so I mostly share one with a friend. - some places in with aircon, but I like to sit on the terrase in the shade of big trees.

Amazing place and coffee with a beautiful person and personal story behind it. Lee Ayu is part of the Slow Food Movement and supports the hill tribes with this coffee. If you are interested in sustainability and sustainable agriculture (which you should be) then this is the place for you to go and enjoy, aeropress, cold drip or you name it... There are two locations, one in old town very central and one in Santhitam.

Only serves coffee and a few light pastries so don't go expecting meal. I had the piccolo latte and it was wonderful. Definitely would come back. Prices excellent.

There are a lot of coffee shops in Chiang Mai. A lot. Some good, some not so good, and some are terrible. When in Chiang Mai we always stay right near Wat Phra Singh and we walked by Akha Ama and the coffee smelt so amazing we just had to go in. Hubby loves his coffee and loved the flat white he had here and I really enjoyed my iced latte. Really delicious. It became our daily morning coffee spot and the service and quality were always very high. We'll be back again on our next visit to Chiang Mai!

Wonderful atmosphere, Sit in the shade, outside on the garden deck or inside with AC. The owner is from the local hill tribes and his two coffee houses support the village by providing all his coffee.

Strong and tasty, just the way I like it. We're staying in the villa korbhun khinma just around the corner and they recommended this place to us. Perfect spot for a quick cup of coffee.

they even knew how to make a flat white and their designs in the foam best i have ever seen. but the taste of the coffee is what made me come back every day. also it is only 50 baht,go figure, the best coffee is also the cheapest . how often does that happen?

I come to Akha Ama Cafe in Rachadamnoen Road (next to Wat Phra Singh) for more than three years now whenever I am in town. Excellent coffees and the best cappuccini I ever had outside of Italy. Well, I had many cappuccini in Italy, and Akha Ama can definitely compete with the best of them. Very kind and lovely staffs, cosy atmosphere, a charming place where to relax and to enjoy the coffees grown by the family-run company in plantations in the mountains of Chiang Rai. Akha Ama is my number 1 in Chiang Mai, and I get my coffee beans there for at home as well. Glad to live here and nowhere else in Asia. When you love to have a great cup of coffee or two or three, don't miss the place. Plenty of choice. Highly recommended!!!

This is such a nice place to escape the busy city and relax with a fine cup of coffee. I had their blend which was a very smooth flavor. The banana muffin was really tasty and fresh. Bit of a trip to get there we took a Tuk Tuk.

Our 2nd day in Chiang Mai......we were just walking around getting to know the lay of the land ^^ and recognized Akha Ama Coffee as one of the places recommended so we stopped by to take a much needed break with coffee. The coffee did not disappoint~!!!! If you're in the neighborhood then ABSOLUTLY have coffee.

Off from the old city and the hectical tourist life there, I found here a very peaceful place to read my book with having a fabulous, warm banana muffin and a very tasty cold brew. I admire the owner for his concept of only offering coffee produced in Thailand and bought from the original owner.

Visited the one on Tha Pae Road several times. Good coffee, great seating area outside, and lovely hipster decor both inside and outside. Loving the atmosphere. The staff is English-speaking and service minded. Would definitely visit if I were you!!

Lovely hipster decor, super friendly staff (we've been coming here everyday for a whole week - so grateful we found it!), creamy and tasty coffee. We're Italian and very fussy about our espresso, and they know latte art as well! Well done everyone.
