NK is a terrific place for shopping, lots of nice brand stores with excellent service. BUT be sure to take care of Your ''natural needs'' before You end up geting in a hurry. The facilities are very hard to find and surpricingly under dimensioned - lots of stressed customers spending an unpleasent time.

We came upon this department store by chance and ended up spending over an hour in the home furnishing department. Splendid! Scandinavian home design at its finest. Even if you don't buy anything, it is worth the visit.

Similar to Selfridges in The Uk, probably not quite as magnificent as that or Harrodsburg though, but nice for a browse.

This upscale mall is great for finding amazing designer clothes, shoes and jewelry! Prada, Hermes and so on, or just stroll around

Typical department store. Has a great range of stores with really nice classic decor. Not a must see but good to visit.

This is a beautiful & big store where you can find clothes, home decor, beauty products, accessories. There's a good mix between designer products with a reasonable price tag and the more pricey ones. Worth a visit :)

Nordiska Kompaniet (known as NK, and literally The Nordic Company) is an upmarket department shop which apparently has around 12 million visitors per annum. At the time of my visit it was relatively quiet and very pleasant to browse. My wife and I had lunch which was very nice in very pleasant surroundings. All of the items we saw looked to be of excellent quality which was reflected in their prices. NK is a very interesting shop to look through and it also has some really good eateries. Well worth a visit to this 100 year old building.

Coming from New York City, I love department stores. We first wandered in because we were looking for a nice bathroom--we found one in the back of the grocery store on the lower level (it actually wasn't that nice and you had to pay for it), but then we spent an hour or so after that looking around in the basement housewares section. There were lots of Swedish/Scandinavian-specific brands which was a nice treat, not to see all the same old things. I especially loved the stationery and notebook section where they had a big selection of Ordning & Reda.

Nordiska Kompaniet or NK for short, is Stockholm's premier department store and it's a great one. I usually stop here a couple of times when I'm in the city. On the lower level, they have an outstanding home goods department filled with the best Scandinavian brands and more. They're men's department is another I always check out, with it's combination of top Swedish and international brands. NK's restaurant is a nice spot for a reasonably priced meal with their lunch of the day. If you enjoy shopping, you'll love NK.

I bought a pair of shoes that I noticed were damaged once I got home to open the shoe box. I went back to get a new pair and they initially informed me that I'd get a new pair asap, after they just performed their normal complaint procedure. I did not hear anything from the shop until a week later when they informed me that the damage on the shoe must have been made by me and hence was the complaint rejected. The worst thing was not the rejected complaint; it was the lack of professionalism and smugness of the complaints handler as she asked me if I was member of their membership-program and that would've helped my case. She also informed that NK had no responsibility since they're only acting as an intermediary which is clearly false and shocking. I will never visit NK again nor will I ever recommend anyone else doing so. Watch out!

Comparable to Les Galeries Laffayette in France or Harrod's in England, NK is a beautiful department store filled with everything one could desire. We originally came looking for some Christmas decorations, which we found on the 4th floor. Then we made our way all the way down to the bottom floor where we found a huge high end grocery store and beautiful pastries and sweets counters. Could be fun to browse o a rainy day, maybe grab a coffee and relax if you're not in the shopping mood.

Definitely a place to find just about anything you need. Hard to navigate inside as it is huge but worth the visit. I found here unique candy I could not find anywhere else and some other things!

Nicely done store but essentially same mix of stuff and names you can find in any big-city name department store - few unique Swedish brands.

If you are looking for quality clothes, kitchenware, furniture, design this is the right place in Stockholm. Luxury department store with history. Also very good café on the first floor.

We stumbled into this store by accident on a rainy day and ended up wandering around for a few hours. We happened upon a huge clearance section in the Men's Department and spent a couple of hours buying merino wool sweaters for US$30, bomber jackets for US$40 and the real find was a nice suit for my husband at US$150! There were even Comme de Garcons mens' pieces on sale for US$100!! Sure, there are the typical international brands, but we stuck to the Swedish brands and are were able to find some real bargains. Once you learn the Swedish words for Sale and Clearance, you can make out like a bandit after the VAT! Even better, our teenage boys really liked the cut and styles offered so we got a lot of our back to school shopping out of the way. While we were there, the housewares department was also having a huge sale, but we could not fit that much stuff in our luggage.... The other bonus is the cafeteria. All that shopping made us hungry and on our way to the restrooms on the top floor (which costs 10 SEK to use), we found a cafeteria that serves traditional Swedish food, cafeteria-style. We had the best Swedish meatballs of our trip for US$12 with a heaping serving of what looked to be fresh Ligonberries, the only time we had fresh ones during our visit! We tried to go back but unfortunately it closes at 4 PM on the weekends. It was definitely worth our time! (Caveat, if you are leaving the EU and want to get your VAT at the airport, you need to do that before you check your bags as there are strict rules requiring you to show the articles that you purchased. Otherwise you need to submit it from the US which is more of a hassle.)

This department store offers great shopping with a wide selection of brands. The store itself is lovely and has really nice architecture. Don't miss the food market in the basement, they offer nice wines by the glass and lovely charcuteries.

I hate wandering about luxurious galleries with nothing I can afford at all. It is indeed a very beautiful mall such as Galeries Lafayette in France or Nordstrom in The USA but anyway much too pricey for me or my family. Enjoy The luxe show and run.
