It was a business trip and I really enjoyed every aspect of staying in this hotel. Its central location meant proximity to key business and touristic attractions. Breakfast was truly enjoyable and staff were friendly. In short, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Stockholm, whether for business or pleasure.

a very stylish hotel with lots of external social events taking place there during my weekend stay, staff were very nice, a special mention to the very kind house-keeping staff, room was cool, stylish, functional, comfortable, perfect really, nice Acqua di Parma bathroom toiletries, continental breakfast is served in a beautiful room which includes a section overlooking the waterfront but all the tables in that section were pre-reserved when I went down for breakfast, buffet breakfast is served in another space which also overlooks the water but is kind of busier, tables located close together or in 1 block seating 8-12 people so slightly harder to have your own personal space there in my opinion (the layout/decor of this section has changed since my last stay in the hotel several years ago)

Firstly the building is majestic, the name as well , so we had very high expectations. Room was large, with joining suite, quite nice! Helpful staff all around, but there were service glitches at breakfast, but minor. The hotel is really popular with people from the city using the bar and restaurant, so it can be difficult to get a table which we did not appreciate. Strange that as a hotel guest you can not get a place in the bar on a Friday night... not cool. Spa was also nice, and a must do if you stay there.

We spend a short weekend here attending a wedding in Stockholm. The hotel is very Grand no doubt about that, and we found the room larger than expected. The décor was also as expected and looked exactly like entering the houses of my uncle and grandmother, so it felt kind of homely with the Persian carpets and heavy furniture’s. It was very clean and even though the bathroom was a bit outdated. It again was clean and well kept. The best part of the stay was using the spa. Really beautiful and a fantastic experience. The pool, the stream room, the mosaic walls were so beautiful and that alone would have a been reason to travel back to Stockholm. It is difficult just how to describe how amazingly the place felt with the open fire and the blocks of rocks and the whole ambience. Unfortunately, we decided to have the breakfast buffet next morning. Had I known that there was an á la carte option. I would have chosen that. But like entering a Vegas buffet, we signed the bill even before entering. I have seldom regretted a meal more. Not so much because of the price tag, but we only had this one meal alone the entire weekend and had look forward to enjoying a nice breakfast together. The buffet was one of the worst I have seen. The fruit was dry, overripe and not presented as expected at a five-star hotel. The eggs were clearly made from powder, or made by someone that have no clue about making scrambled eggs. The salmon were simply loaded on the tray and with all the brown parts still attached. – Pictures are attached. The selection was as they write on their webpage with 124 items – I would not advertise that I prefer quantity over quality - if I were them. The cups which the tea we got were served in small coffee cups. I could see that other sections had larger and nicer cups. We had to ask for refills all the time. Usually at five star hotels. They either give you a teapot with fresh tea or make sure you don’t have to ask for refills as they will make sure your cup is full all the time. I could go on with the bread section, the quality of the meat, etc. etc. but: Dear Grand Hotel Management – you really really need to get a new food and beverage manager for your breakfast buffet. Without the Spa- I would have rated the hotel a 3-star rating, but as the breakfast was 1 star and the spa experience out of the chart (even the fruit was fresher and nicer at the spa). The hotel experience will end in a solid 4 rating. When we left we were asked about the experience. I probably should have mentioned the breakfast here. But as this was a general problem and not something that only happened to us – I believe that it should be obvious that the food on the buffet should never have reached the table in any restaurant being 1 or 5 star. If the people in the kitchen can send out we watermelon that looked like the one in the buffet – they have a much larger problem than most.

We were in the more recently renovated rooms, and what a wonderful hotel. Well designed, and most certainly one of the best hotels in the world. Highly recommended for your visits to Stockholm. Every concierge recommendation was dead on.

Great location for any type of traveller, easy access to the Central Station and hop on-hop off buses and boats, proximity to the most tourist attractions. Breakfast with views to the palace, friendly staff, the most romantic spa area, an interesting restaurant with a Michelin Star and a very sophisticated bar.

Stayed here for business for two nights. Lots of staff in the lobby who are always available to help. Everyone was very polite. We got an upgrade to the King room (must've been a step up from the standard room) and it was honestly a bit underwhelming. The room was fairly small but the layout and decor was extremely tasteful. Comfy bed and one of the quietest nights I've had in ages. The bathroom was really nice but I must say the towels didn't have a very fresh smell to them and the shower curtain was built in a way that after every shower the bathroom floor was covered in water. The amenities were top-notch - bottles of sparkling water, high-end shampoo, conditioner, soap and cream, and a box in the closet with everything else (toothbrush, shaving kit, sewing kit etc). Room was very clean and cleaned twice a day. There are two breakfast options (continental and buffet). I chose the buffet which was amazing - a glut of options which would satisfy the most picky of eaters. The bar is open late and we had lunch one day at the downstairs restaurant which was very good!

We had just come off a long flight, the room wasn't ready. How many vikings does it take to clean a 270 sqft room? Apparently more than they had on staff that day. The front desk lady took my email address and told me she'd message me when the room was ready. Wah wah! Never happened. How rude! We were sent on a voyage across the hotel... over the river and through the woods to a crumby room we go!! The arrival of my luggage was rather sluggish... so no tip for the valet, oh no! So lets get serious. The room wasn't great. It was stark and just underwhelming. Sure, we didn't spring for anything fancy, but come on... What? The prestige suite would just be a larger dingy room with a view of a ship? When you have a courtyard view, don't you assume that means some trees or a little park? Nope! I had a view of some office building and people were hacking away on laptops. You know what they say about those who assume. Totally true. I called down to the front desk asking if they had forgotten to give us a mattress? Nope, apparently a mattress in Scandinavia is a box spring topped with a 2inch pillow top. Camping bed in a 5 star hotel... alright alright alright. The spa was totally tiny. Like teensy tiny. Imagine trying to relax with 10 other people in a 30 x 15 foot pool surrounded by people eat oranges like fiends, watching men using the ONE SINGLE jet suspiciously, and spending $20/glass on less than veuve quality champagne. Luckily someone invented pharmaceuticals which made it more hilariously ridiculous than creepy crawly. So the staff sucked. The room sucked. The spa sucked. Before you begin to think I'm a total first world problems B, I will tell you the location is absolutely amazing. A one minute walk to boat rides. Five - ten minute walk to shopping and a quality grocer. Close to the historic district. The Abba museum was a beautiful 30 minute walk away. The second you step out of the hotel and realize you've been blessed to visit Stockholm in autumn and your dislike of the hotel and everyone in it subsides like a ship slipping away down the Baltic.

Grand hotel Stockholm is a perfect example for someone who wants to run a perfect hotel. Everything, from the personel, room standards, bar, spa is just spectacular. You really get the sense of "old-school" luxury every moment you spend here.

Strongly recommend to chose Grand Hotel of Stockholm, especially water view rotunda rooms. Unique atmosphere and possibility not to have problems during your stay abroad. Instantaneous high level service in all departments of the hotel. Will return there for sure!

Lovely hotel and staff with an exceptionally beautiful spa area (sauna, warm relaxation pool etc.) where as a guest you can simply relax at or get a spa treatment (massage etc.). The gym was impressive as well.

and were delighted. In our four night stay I found absolutely nothing to fault this hotel. It is marvelous. The location is terrific. The views excellent. The staff bends over backwards to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and well-designed with plenty of outlooks and amenities. Skip bringing an umbrella. The hotel supplies one. Unlike many U.S. hotels which try to force you to rent their movies by blocking tv ports, the Grand Hotel prominently displays them ... so watch Netflix from your IPad all you want. The hotel will arrange an airport pickup for the same price as other companies. Your return, if they book a trusted taxi for you, will be one-third the price. Try to get a view toward the Royal Palace. It’s worth it.

We were remarkably impressed by the Grand Hotel. We had a lovely deluxe room with a view of the harbor and Royal Palace. The staff was efficient, cheerful and helpful. The location is excellent for visits to museums and is close to fine restaurants.

The ambiance at the hotel is just amazing! The SPA is just what you need after a day out in beautiful Stockholm - it well worth a visit. We decided to dine in our room and had Swedish meatballs with mash potatoes - a classic dish that was truly delicious.

This is a beautiful hotel in an equally beautiful city. The location is ideal for navigating around the city. The hotel is perfect for relaxing in your room, enjoying a drink in the bar, or dining in the restaurant after a day of site seeing. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

My husband and I just spent 4 wonderful days in Stockholm at the Grand Hotel . The hotel is centrally located and we were able to walk to many major sights each day. Our room was large and very stylishly decorated . We overlooked the water and the Royal Palace across the bridge. The service was wonderful and the concierge was always very helpful in giving us sightseeing advice. We enjoyed a continental breakfast each morning in the lovely terrace restaurant and the bar is a lively spot at the end if the day. We would definitely stay at the Grand again and highly recommend it.

This is hotel with a history. The hotel is well maintained and they do the best to update the hotel to address modern needs. The bathrooms are infused with more modern elements. They have more electric outlets for all your modern day electronics. The furniture in the rooms could be updated. But I guess it is part of it's charm.

If you are travelling to Stockholm & like luxury at its best then stay at the Grand Hotel. The rooms are large & laid back but sumptuous in every detail. The buffet breakfast is extraordinary in its quality & variety. It is not a “cheap” hotel but worth every SEK if you have the where with all.

I had bought a cheap room and then was offered a top room with a full water view for a reasonable supplement. From arriving in a cab the service was flawless. every single staff member were so charming, helpful and well groomed. There was a rather faux woman working in the Matthias Dahlgren restaurant but that's not the hotel's fault. I loved my room, the decoration was a little odd, but the space and the amazing bath made up for it. The bed was a little squishy but the linen was very good. The maild service was as good as the Peninsula and the room was checked several times a day. One night I had the room service burger, it came with red rose and all and it was the best burger I have ever had: I also recommend to you all the half bottle of chablis travelling along. The food and wine at Matthias D restauarant is truly amazing and deserves the buzz. The breaskfast is excellent the staff have to put up with demands from groups, children etc and they handle it all with aplomb. Food was delicious I rate it very close to the breakfast at St Regis Bangkok (where they fly the youghurt in from Paris). The flowers and throughtful touches in the hotel were exquisite. I barely wanted to leave the room with tht amazing view out.

A Leading Hotel of the World displaying the best of the best. My husband and I enjoyed our one night stay on the way to Estonia. We did not want to leave. Staff, rooms, and restaurant were exceptional. The spa is a world winner and we spent hours in there, especially enjoying the sparkling mineral water on tap after a hot sauna.
