Sat out on the terrace with nice weather which was great, enjoyed our first beer but waited far too long for someone to take next order, and for the food. Good beer selection though, and the ramen noodles were surprisingly pretty good for a menu that was otherwise mostly classic Dutch fare

The Spaarbank is a 1950's savings bank turned into a beer place and small restaurant. I had had a big lunch and was going to have a big dinner. But it was so cold and I had a mile to walk, I went in here for something warm --therefore not a beer. I had a jenever (Dutch gin predating British) and a glass of red wine, San Giovese, and asked for soup. They had chestnut soup with creme fraiche or mustard soup with smoked chicken. These are the two most delicious soups I've never heard of before. I took the first, making sure first it wasn't a dessert under the wrong heading. It was splendid and served with two little slices of nutbread. Friendly atmosphere, jolly service, good clientele.

Very interesting building with history: this was a savings and loans bank that people actually went to to drop of their coins and paper money to be written in their paper savings booklet. And when the 'interest season' was there, you went to the bank and they would manually add the interest to the balance by writing that in your booklet. These days are long gone: now you can have something to eat or just go out to have drinks in this place (from checkings or savings, as long as you pay:-).

Visited de Spaarbank a couple of times recently. I'm not a big fan of the interior, but i really like the garden at the back when the weather is good. I went there several times for drinks and had a nice dinner there. The prices are a little high though. One thing that was less appealing was the mouse we spotted while having a drink there. The bartender reacted like: "yeah, it's our house-mouse". It wasn't a big problem, and it's kinda funny too, but still..

Stadscafe de Spaarbank is one of my favorite spots in Tilburg, especially if you are not in your student years anymore, this spot is highly recommended. The average age is young professionals and up, which gives it a classy atmosphere. The pub is in a very old and authentic building which gives it a lot of character. Moreover they have a terrace in the front a lot of space inside and a lovely garden in the back, which gives you the ultimate sun experience. The piggy bank theme (which is their name translated into english) is extended into every little detail. For example their menu is a bank statement, which is very clever. They have a endless range of beers, seasonal, craft, on the barrel and on bottle. The food is very good as well and I like that the staff is very friendly but have a lot of knowledge about their products as well. Definitely a place to go to when you want to have a lovely night out

Good beer, asparagus soup and cheese sandwich....enjoy. Not much more to add. TripAdvisor wants more.

This is one of this bars that is worthwhile visiting when you are looking to have a quick-lunch or just meet up with old friends. The good: -Nice, laidback atmosphere, great interior, nice outside terrace -Decent prices -Good service, The bad: -Somewhat outside the citycentre. To far away to just walk to it. -Parking a car: tricky unless you are really familiar in Tilburg.

I went to this beautiful restaurant/cafe for lunch yesterday. The building is so beautiful, it belonged to a bank in the past and many original things are still there, like the clock. The menu is written on bank paper. Great selection of beers and other drinks. The food was great and not expensive. I passed by at the end of the day and happy hour was blooming!

A bar where service is high, beers a not directly like any other bar, and quality is high. A bit off the usual track, but the five-way intersection is a lively spot.

We often go to this relaxed city cafe and restaurant, which is situated in a beautiful 1900's building. Good beer menu, some nice wines, and an interesting foot menu with several good dishes. In the summer a nice terrace both in the garden and near the street at a very nice point in Tilburg.

I always like to go here for drinks after dinner or a show. The cafe has a casual feel, friendly and fun staff and a nice selection of beers and wines. It has a lovely outdoor seating area in the back, bit of a garden feel, as well as an outdoor seating area in the front. Lunch is also good. Quite an extensive lunchmenu and kids are welcome. There are lunchoptions for kids specially.
