I find this site to be overpriced and touristy (the other options in this section are better choices), but the Heineken Experience will give you an overview of the company, a few drinks, and some silly games to play. Note that this isn’t a functioning brewery. Opening hours: M–Th (11am–7:30pm—last entry at 5:30pm), F–Su (10:30am–9pm—last entry at 7pm). Price: €18, or pre-order online for €16.

This is all about one brand of beer. It's advertising on your money. You learn little to nothing about the history of beer or the process of making it or the different varieties. Instead, you'll learn there is a secret ingredient. What a surprise! Waste your time and money elsewhere in Amsterdam.

If your a beer enthusiast and drinker its good to visit this famous plant and specially in its hometown amsterdam, the end of the tour is the most exciting , you can purchase with an extra of 7 euros and trip in the canal on a boat, and indulge yourself with the magic of amsterdam, and end up at the "lookout" , which is a tall building and on roof u can have a look over amsterdam.. and you can try the famous swing.. u can enjoy a drink also on the lower level.. good experience

I went with my partner and his dad - who both enjoyed the experience. However for me, I don't drink beer and didn't find the history very interesting. There is a lot of interactive features at the end which made it more enjoyable for people like myself.

Take you through the history of Heineken and the brewing process with a self guided tour and stations where staff explain things along the way. Throw in 2 and a half free beers and I can certainly think of worse ways to spend a couple of hours.

Really interesting tour around the old brewery and a couple of beers to finish. Would recommend this attraction had a great time.

We visited here while on a short trip to Amsterdam. I wasn't sure what to expect but I can honestly say that it was well worth the money. You can go at your own pace. No one will hurry you on to the next room which means you can take as much time as you want. The first part of the experience shows you some of the history of the brewery and some of the methods of how the beer is brewed. Then you move into the modern era through a tasting room where you are showed how to get the most from a drink of Heineken. There is a lounge here where you can sit in comfy seats and enjoy your glass of beer. Moving on, you go through several rooms highlighting the more modern times of heiniken with lots of interactive things to do. You finish up in the bar area where you can get another two free drinks. There is not any proper seating in this bar though, which is my only complaint. In total, we spent just over two and a half hours inside this experience and I would definite;y come here again.

The best idea ever. You just can not miss this opportunity when traveling to Amsterodam, to see how Heineken is prepared, history, tasting.

Nice to see Heineken in its own place. There are 3-4 stations that explains about Heineken and one 4d tour which is good. E joy your beer and learn about the history about Heineken.

Guaranteed to get a voucher to save a Euro or two on this place, which is always nice to save something. You get at least a pint and a half from the whole experience, there are tour guides every now and again in certain areas of the experience and they give a good backstory to the origins of Heineken. If you are genuinely interested to what they have to say, you get to learn on how their beer is made, and how family orientated the company is. The layout is perfect also, with great interactive elements throughout and they also teach you how to pour the perfect Heineken pint.

Not much to the self guided tour. Felt like they touched more on the brand of Heineken itself around the world than the actual brewing process! Have been to much better brewery tours around the world!

To sum up: Too crowded. Not well organized. Interesting perhaps only if you have never heard of the principles of beer making in your life, or if you have teenage kids that have the patience and energy to be overwhelmed by a bunch of games, pictures etc. Plus side: "free" beer, brewing room interior of factory, custom heineken bottles you can create (for a fee) I expected more than just propaganda. It is interesting to see how you can market a brand but the whole "experience" is so badly organized that it shouldn't be an example for others. The tour (if you don't take the VIP one) is self guided. You can get some more info on the experience with their app, however nobody mentioned this to us at the entrance. There are short presentations in 2 or 3 places; however this is also not mentioned in advance so we walked in and accidentally bumped into the staff presenting the "experience" after wandering for a few minutes without any idea there was supposed to be an introduction. The first impression was "what exactly is the whole point of this?". Half of the interactive stuff wasn't working, and if it was working there were too many people let in in the same time so you don't have time to try any of it.

Excellent tour with Joost our guide who was so informative and charismatic. We chose the VIP tour at the latest possible option, which little did we know meant that the whole museum was closed to everyone but us and the other couple on this tour - amazing. Therefore we got the full VIP treatment, with detailed information on the brewing process and lots of interactions along the way. It ended in the private bar where we tried 5 different types of beer brewed by the company along with some lovely Dutch cheeses. Absolutely worth the extra price.

We were pleasantly surprised how much fun we had! Each area is devoted truly to giving you a true Heineken experience.

You must visit this place and see how their home brew is done. I booked the Rock the City tour which also included the canal trip and a tour of the lookout. This is great value for money. One minor disappointment was that on the canal tour the "host" didn't say a word or describe the buildings around, he was too busy selling Heineken to the patrons! Other than that, a great tour.

We booked the VIP tour online and loved it. We had the best guide in Mirjam. She was so knowledgeable and fun - it was definitely a highlight of our trip. We got to try a lot of different Heneiken beer in a private lounge over several hours, as well as tour the brewery. The VIP experience was well worth spending a little more money on. The small group size and great guide made for a memorable afternoon and I would totally recommend this tour.

Free fresh heinys..need I say more? One trick, know your Heineken beer and history and it will pay off in the beer tasting area. I had 6 glasses because I knew the answers to their verbal quizzes! You can even make your own personal bottle. Neat stuff

I was pleasantly surprised, this tour is fun and informative. There is even a 4d ride as a part of the tour, you also get 2 free beers plus 1 tasting. Very fun interactive activities through the tour. You can personalize a Heineken bottle for 6.5 euros. Great tour!

The Heineken Museum was a bit disappointing. The building was airless and that combined with the noise and smell of yeast, hops and horses wasn't for a good experience. You'd think that there would be a cool lounge and restaurant at the end but they gave you 2 beers to be drunk while standing in a concrete bunker. A propaganda push

The visit is interesting if you speak English cause the don't speak another language, it is a museum I mean it's not working as a factory, you have a little bit of story about the brand and how they make it and then you have many photo booth and games to play that takes you pictures and you can send them to your email, if you are not staying many days you can quit going to this visit, you have many stairs and it is very short visit, they give you two beers for free at the end of the visit in a bar and you have a shop to buy some merchandising . I don't recommend this to old people or younger kids
