The hotel is in good location, just next to Centre Point shopping mall. The hotel room is very spacious and comfortable. I especially like the red sofa. Breakfast is nice. But most of all the sea view is the best. No swimming pool though, but good for tourist who wants to stay in centre of city.

While this hotel was not our first choice when picking hotels in KK (most of our initial choices were fully booked), I was very happy that we stayed here. The location is great - in the middle of the town, 24-hour convenience store just next door, very easy access to food, ATM and shopping (Plaza Warisan & Centrepoint Sabah), also walking distance to the markets for dried food, cooked food, jewelery etc. The Studio room is super! Spacious with a living room and bright red sofa, 2 TVs, work desk - and the best part: amazing view of the legendary KK sunsets. Wardrobe is open style (which I personally don't mind), but I am not a fan of the gel toiletries. Breakfast is okay with a decent spread. Overall, a lovely stay!

Check-In was a "Breeze" and hotel staffs very courteous, informative when asked about the places of interest. Only problem is the room's WIFI no very strong, breakfast would have been better with more spread and rooms allocated too far from elevator.

Good central location, newly refurbished room. Actually I found the rooms and corridors in the hotel to be of better quality than the lift and the lobby and usually it is the other way round. Got the room with a window but I was not able to open it. Most of rooms are located inside the building with windows facing internal corridor. Breakfast on the poor side.

The Klagan Hotel is located right behind a large mall, which is also the first stop if you ride the airport bus. There's a money changer and a convenience store at the ground floor. The standard room is spacious, and there's even a lounge chair. Kota Kinabalu is a small city, and you can pretty much get anywhere by foot (Jesselton Point is a 20-minute walk from the hotel). The lobby staff is helpful and can speak English well. While the buffet breakfast menu can be improved as it lacks the usual Western options, the food was delicious and you can get a great view of the bay if you sit by the window. Overall, the Klagan is a good hotel to stay in KK.

Stayed at the Klagan twice this holiday. It is in a great location 25 mins from airport and walking distance to the night market which I would recommend. Room was good but they charged 120mr fir an extra bed which made it a little prices. Breakfast was ok and served against the backdrop of the harbour.

My boyfriend and I stayed here in march for a few days. The service was great! We had a little trouble with our key, and the staff were really accommodating. The staff were also always very friendly and welcoming. It definitely makes a huge difference! The room was very clean, and the bed was comfy! Also the location felt central which was nice. Their breakfast was also delicious. I would definitely stay here again!

Quite new hotel with 2 counters at the reception. Pity that no causal seats around the lobby as we will waiting for turns to check in. Beside is lounge that got seats but far to reception. Entitle of welcome fruit punch drink which make us feel refresh. Opposite road is a small mall to shop. You can request the local map, to guide for walking distance to nearby malls or Handcraft market to buy souvenirs. The breakfast buffet got much variety to eat, consider good to have a great morning. Just need to climb stairs up to 11th as lift up to 10th only. Spacious neat room, cozy kind size bed for rest, standing head shower is really awesome!

It is quite new. And good housekeeping (at least during my stay) - clean bed sheet, firm bed, helps to entice me to give it a very good rating. Added advantage is that it has a wide variety of rooms suitable for both business travelers as well as families. By Singaporean standard, the room rate is affordable and value for money. Location is almost perfect - near shopping (for those like to go to big mall) but for me, it is within walking distance - 15 minutes to Chinatown - Gaya Street area where good local Chinese food is plentiful - it took me several rounds to sample kaya bread, pork rib soup - and yes, it is no problem finding pork in KK - and seafood at almost half the price in West Malaysia. The hotel is also within 5 minutes walking distance from two important wet markets - one operates from 5pm selling cook food vegi and fruits, while 100m further away is a huge two-level morning market that has a hawker centre above the wet market - but I never got to try as I was busy trying out in eateries around the Gaya Street, just another 500m further away. For those who like drinking, the hotel is also near to wines and bars. It is a hotel that I would consider returning next round.

Likes - pricing is reasonable - location is good with food and amenities close by - room is spacious and air cond works very well - full set of condiments provided in the room Dislikes - too many rowdy mainland tourists - no spa - food variety and quality at breakfast is pretty mediocre - the waiting staff at restaurant at 11th floor are sullen and sour-faced

Great rooms, supernice staff. Location at Warisan Square which is pretty much the in center of Kota Kinabalu, 15 min from the airport, 2 min to waterfront. Would def stay here again if ever in Kota Kinabalu. Buy fresh fruit in the wet-market close to the hotel, take it to the restaurant and they will cut it for you! PS Great breakfast.

If u search any place as hotel to stay in KK area, u will find this Klagan on the list. Yes its 100% located nearest to the main point such as seafood restaurant, night bazaar, market, shopping mall, jetty, spa or massage places. So it will be one the reason to stay here. But if u coming as backpackers traveller, I don't think this hotel suitable for u in the means to cut the cost. Rate for this hotel is almost RM200 and above for a night. But don't worry u will find so many budget hotel around there. However this hotel have another class, such as it good choice for someone come here to business or function purpose. Or maybe for family vacations or honeymoon. The room has so many variations as for single, couple, triple or family room. Some of the room have different design and furniture. Also alert with the promotion for website or another travel apps to get more discount and choices.

Stayed here for a week. Spacious room with everything we needed. Breakfast buffet with ample choice and (which I appreciate very much) an egg-station. Very close to the Waterfront where there are a dozen or so bars & restaurants. Shopping mall across the street.

The view over the sea was spectacular and made choosing this hotel worth it. The room was spacious and we loved the red armchair (two would have been better). Breakfast was good with quite a lot of variety. The hotel is centrally located with shops, markets and restaurants within easy walking distance. The king size bed was really comfortable too.

This hotel is located at center of the city.Just cross the street to Centre Point shopping mall and walking distance to the seafood night market. The breakfast is ok. If you come by plane it is better using the airport taxi and buy taxi voucher RM 30 at taxi counter to this hotel. But if you want to join city tour it is better to cross check to several travel agent first.Don't buy the city tour package immediately like I have done. I have bad experience on 23 May 2017 which I bought city tour package Mari Mari Tour with THY Borneo Tours at Centre Point their price RM 200 per person ,but accidentally after checking with other travel agent(Ma Senang Travel Agent) their price is only RM 140 or it means 30% cheaper for the excactly same itinerary. So be careful and be smart not like what I did.

The Klagan is located central to everything, the centre point shopping centre is across the road, the waterfront in the opposite direction and a cheap taxi fare to Jessleton Point. The room was of a generous size, clean and quiet. The view was pleasing. The staff were always helpful, at times there was a slight language barrier however they were always able to find a solution and provide advice. Would recommend to anyone staying in Kota Kinabalu

I love The Klagan. It's walking distance to everything I needed to go and do in Kota Kinabalu - Oceanus mall, Philippines market, Helen's massage parlor (highly rated on Tripadvisor and that's another review I will rate highly too), the Waterfront, Centerpoint, etc. So put in the perfect spot, the hotel's convenience of locality to everything is its strongest point. If you know about D'Place (they serve delicious traditional Kadazandusun food - a must try!) and plan to go there, do know it is just about 10 mins by foot to Plaza Shell where the restaurant is located. The room we stayed in was huge, above normal standard deluxe measurements. I have no complaints on anything this hotel has to offer - wifi connection was good, the tv channels clear and many, beds clean, hot shower worked fine. I love the room! Staff were affable and helpful, and we had welcome drink! I did not expect the hotel to be this wonderful, after all it's the small things that counts. Again, I must say The Klagan was an excellent stay for me. My pictures are not that clear but I think the many good reviews about this hotel should be enough to help you decide if you are contemplating on it as a choice. 😀

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. What I liked about this hotel are: 1. Room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and the wifi was quite responsive. And while the view from the room was partially blocked by a nearby building, I still had a view of Mt Kinabalu. 2. Location. Hotel is located near many convenience stores and eating places. 3. Friendly and helpful staff. 4. Nice view of the sea from the rooftop cafe. I would consider staying there again if I were ever to re-visit Kota Kinabalu.

We were climbing Mount Kinabalu, so our stay was short, but the hotel staff were so obliging, we were able to leave all our luggage safely at the hotel while we climbed. Rooms are clean and modern and the breakfasts are amazing! Enjoyable stay and centrally located to malls and waterfront!

Everything is good. Been here for a couple of times and we're very satisfied with our stay. The room is spacious, beds are comfortable. Breakfast is good as well. Definitely will come back again someday.
