This hotel is not the TOP of the line. Don't expect Air Conditioning nor the latest Modern Furniture nor Up to date washrooms. But what this Hotel offers is Great atmosphere with its great courtyard, good and very reasonable food, GREAT SERVICE, FRIENDLY Staff always ready to help out in whatever is needed. The price offered a fantastic breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice, papaya, bread, eggs (However you want them) etc. Most rooms have flat screen TV's with many local channels. I counted over 100 flower pots in the courtyard and surrounding area. The hotel offers free parking and is located about 10-15 minute walk to downtown Guanajuato. I sure would recommend this place to anybody visiting Guanajuato. BTW it also offers FREE WIFI.

Únicamente venimos en familia a desayunar y es totalmente recomendado, la comida es deliciosa con sazón 100% mexicano. El jardín es agradable puedes desayunar al aire libre. El costo de los platillos es justo y los platillos muy bien servidos.

Regular hotel, the facilities are basic, nothing fancy. It has a very beautiful yard and it is located nlt so far from the downtown. The best thing is that it has parking lot. Haven't tried the food but according to the comments it is acceptable and delicious.

We are staying at a Casa nearby, but have stopped for breakfast twice in their garden/patio and had a nice pleasant breakfasts. They have good eggs French toast, omelettes, and Mexican breakfast dishes. A good start for the day.

As I live in Guanajuato, I have never stayed at the Embajadoras but I often go there to "chill out" with a cup of herb tea or glass of lemonade in their patio filled with birds, flowers, and many different trees and plants, a side of Mexican life you may not see as easily elsewhere in Guanajuato. The owner's son Daniel, who is at the hotel most of the time, is completely bilingual.

The hotel is a good ten minute walk from the center of the city, however, you get a clean, specious hotel with parking and a separate Restaurant. The hotel is old and the building feels solid but the rooms get no sunlight and therefore feel a bit damp in the winter. The owner is nice but moody, consequently the price is a moving target.

After reading so many negative reviews, including no hot water,I wanted our group to meet in another location. Yes,the place needs an upgrade, yes the carpets are in rough shape, yes the tvs are old, however Im not really there to watch tv, and yes its old. However I found the bed extremely comfortable, plenty of hot water at any hour, new toilet, and clean room albiet old.Good service, good restaurant, quiet, and convenient to downtown and affordable.

Hotels around the main plaza in Guanajuato are expensive, but Hotel Embajadoras is about 3/4 of mile away, on Parque Embajadoras, and is very adequate. It's an older hotel with carpets, (my main complaint) but you can't beat the price, nor location. Hotel is extremely quiet, even during the hysterical Cervantino Festival. Make reservations early for that festival. Off-season at on-site restaurant was mixed. We were finally told they didn't make a lunch special, after being handed a special lunch menu and ordering it. Food was good. I loved the chicken thigh and leg with mole, but Tortilla soup was missing the slices of Chile Poblano, a necessary ingredient. Carpets were dusty, but everything else was clean.

My husband and I just returned from two nights in Guanajuato at the Hotel Embajadoras. We stayed there because we knew Guanajuato and liked the location and price of the rooms. We wrote ahead and asked for a room with two beds and no carpet as we both have allergies. Our room (#13) was large with two comfortable beds and a private patio with two chairs. It was very quiet and we slept well. We showered late at night and the water was plentiful--warm, not hot. We ate two dinners and two breakfasts in the lovely, flower filled, tranquil courtyard. The diningroom, patio, and our room were wheelchair accessible and parking was close to the room. The food was very good and the service solicitous and friendly. Our Spanish professor who lives in Guanajuato says the restaurant is very popular with local Mexican families and business people who live there. We will definitely stay there on our next trip.

This hotel was recommended by a friend living in Guanajuato. After reading the reviews here I was unsure, but ended up enjoying my stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was quite clean and comfortable. The location is great, close enough to walk or ride to downtown in minutes, and far enough away to be quiet at night. The restaurant has outdoor seating in a lovely interior courtyard and serves good food. As pointed out by another reviewer, the TV only has two channels, but who wants to watch television in a city as lively as Guanajuato?

This hotel has seen better days. The first room we were shown was unclean, complete with a scorpion on one of the drapes, probably due to broken screens on the windows. The next room was passable but just barely and only since it was 10 at night and we were exhausted after 12 hours of travel.

On the outside it looks ok, like a colonial hotel, but the carpets are really really dirty, under the beds is even worst, bathroom smells funny and is really small, sheets were old, tv only with two channels, lamp was not working it was a really dark room.

After reading previous reviews, we were hesitant about coming here, but came to check it out anyway. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the hotel grounds. We ordered a room with two "matrimonial (double)" beds after seeing it. It was roomier than normal hotels of the same class. The room was clean although it has carpeting. The floor was clean, nevertheless. The restaurant is right on the premesis and we're going to order a meal in a few minutes. It has wireless internet which can be reached in the main office or at the restaurant/bar. Parking is secure on the interior of the grounds. Price is favorable compared to other hotels in the area. City buses pick you up Almost at the front door (currently 4 pesos)..

Last time I was at this hotel it was 20 years ago and it was far better than it is today. The rooms are in serious need of remodelling. They have stuck industrial carpeting that is DISGUSTINGLY dirty on the floors (and no the maids don't have vacuums). The rooms smell of mold and stale air. The bathrooms are gross and humid with windows that don't work. The mosquito screens are shoddy and there is no a/c or fan. The parking situation is a mess and they take no responsiblity if your car is broken into or dinged. The food at the restaurant got us all really sick (out of both ends). Then to find out that the toilets aren't very strong and it takes a few flushes.

I've stayed here a few times. There are nicer, more central, more "full-service" places to stay in this lovely city, but they can cost twice the price or more. This is a pleasant hotel, located a 15-minute walk (5 minutes by bus -- 4 pesos -- or taxi -- 20 pesos) from the Jardín Union. It's right on the Plaza de las Embajadoras. Rooms open onto a patio filled with plants and birds and/or overlook the car park. It's family-run, with friendly, accommodating staff. There's nothing fancy about it, furnishings are basic, hot water was turned off at night when I was here last, and some ceilings leaked when it rained hard (as it can in the summer), but it's very clean, much quieter than downtown hotels can be, much more easily accessible if you have a car (you don't want to bring your car downtown if you can help it), and very economical. It has a nice, inexpensive restaurant, too.

We didn't actually stay in the hotel, but ate in the restaurant a number of times. The hotel is very attractive, with flowers in the courtyard and a very pretty dining room. The service was great and the food good. One morning we ate breakfast watching the hummingbirds hovering near the flowers. People who were staying there seemed to be enjoying it, and the location is quite convenient.
