We booked a 2 bed apartment in February this year with Stars of Venice via The day before our trip in October we were contacted by who informed us that Stars of Venice could not honour our booking, so we were left to find an alternative apartment/accommodation with less than a day's notice. were helpful in finding us a hotel and agreeing to pay the balance incurred due to the booking being last minute. Although we hadn't had confirmation from Stars of Venice that payment had been taken for our original booking we were sure it had and contacted them for confirmation of this so that we could claim our refund. We emailed Francesca, the Manager but received no reply, together with who also couldn't get a response from them. Eventually after a month of numerous efforts to contact Stars Of Venice and getting no response we had to contact the bank for statements to check if payment had been taken, which we discovered it had back in February when we initially made the booking. This has been a very long winded situation with much stress and time on our part to resolve. This company are Appauling when it comes to communication and obviously can't be trusted . We certainly would NOT recommend you book with Stars of Venice.

This apartment is about 5 minutes walk from San Marco square. To get to it you have to take a water bus or taxi to Giglio and then it is a mere 2 minute walk to the square where the apartment is located. It is right opposite San Maria church. It is located on the second floor. It is a really great apartment for a bigger family. Beautiful kitchen, although the kitchen equipment is a bit limited. The apartment has a nice modern and minimalistic feel to it. It can get a bit noisy early in the mornings, but this is to be expected from Venice. It was a really good choice for us due to its great location and the size. We had two teenage girls with us and nobody got into each other's way. It has bedrooms with an option of changing another room with a sleeper couch into a third bedroom. It also has a large dining room/ family room area. There are one or two little bakeries or markets about minutes walk from the hotel, so one can go buy fresh bread or croissants for breakfast. There is also a gondola operating area about minutes walk from the apartment and a restaurant located just opposite the apartment. We will definitely use this apartment for our next visit to Venice

Venice is expensive and we spent weeks looking for a cost effective accommodation option for our family of adult travellers. After reading so many reviews we settled on Stars of Venice a well located apartment. All of the other reviews say it all really, this place is huge it is brilliantly located for exploring Venice but one shower only has scalding water, the air conditioning is in 2 bedrooms and while it has a massive kitchen the provisions are basic and lighting terrible. That said location and space wise were fabulous and we all slept well although were all eaten alive by Mosquitos. We too were met my the manager which is a brilliant service and she showed us around the apartment too. Given the cost of Venice accommodation if you have a family group this place is worth it. One shower is greater use and it's a place to sleep. We loved sitting at the table with the windows open above the square listening to the noise of the city. Pros - location, minutes to transport, minutes to St Marks square, 10 mins to a supermarket and restaurants everywhere. Spacious apartment. Cons - basic provisions, scalding shower in one bathroom, aircon only in 2 bedrooms so had to open windows elsewhere and Mosquitos infultrated.

Also alles sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Actually, there is a number of apartments advertised under one name. We booked an apartment that called Giglio 2. The location is perfect. Nice view, very close to the bus/taxi stop, and 5 min walk from San Marco square. The apartment is huge - probably close if not more 1000sq.f, it's perfectly renovated and very clean. Full kitchen with a big refrigerator. Sounds great? and it would be if I would travel some other time of the year and without children. I rented one bedroom apartment, so my son can sleep in another room and not bother us at night. But the only bathroom is located in the bedroom, which kills the idea. It's wouldn't be that important, but we came to Venice in a middle of the heat wave. The only air-condition unit is located in the bedroom. It's very weak, noisy and cannot even significantly lower the temperature in one room. The rest of the apartment was steady at 27.5C degree. We ended up sleeping in the same room to get a bit cooler air. I was barely able to sleep during the stay. The bathroom look good, but shower tap can be only set to either cold water (no pressure) or burning hot water. It was very difficult to find a compromise between water pressure and water temperature. Overall, it could've be a great place, but it's not.

This apartment was perfect for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. It had 3 bedrooms, but only two of them were air conditioned. The location was great, stone's throw from the water taxi and pleasant 5 minutes walk to St Mark's square.

I have just come back after staying 4 nights in these apartments and had an excellent stay. Francesca the owner was extremely helpful and polite in contacting us a few days before travelling with the quickest and cheapest rate to travel from the airport (Alilaguna Orange line to Giglio €27 return opposed to €110 water taxi each way) and arranged a time to meet us at the boat stop to check in. Location - The apartment is a 1 alley from the boat stop and in a mini square. 5 minute walk to San Marco or Academia Bridge and about 10 mins walk to Rialto. The location was perfect as it is walking distance to all major attractions which was helpful as we had a wheelchair user. Apartment - very modern, spacious and highly clean. One double sofa bed in its own room by front door, spacious and fully equipped kitchen, shower, and large main room with a double bed, one single bed and a sofa with wardrobes. Be aware - if you have an evening flight check out is 10am and there is no where to leave suit cases which was a huge issue for us as we have a wheelchair to carry over every bridge. The lock up in the train station was recommended to us but as we found out due to traveling to Verona by train for a day out of venice, it takes an hour on the boat to the station so not ideal as would take 4 hours of your last day up. After researching we found there is a baggage lock up just off of San Marco piazza which was 10 minutes from the hotel where it is €6 for first case and €5 for each other. Overall, excellent stay, host, location and I would recommend if looking for a cheaper option to the pricier San Marco Hotels.

From the moment we had contact with the hotel we got excellent service. We only emailed to ask what the best and easiest way to get to their location was and they offered the information within 24 hours and offered us a personal greeting at the ferry port with no expectation of payment. On arrival a warm welcome personally by the manager Francesca and who provided excellent info on the city and a map, also a full restaurant list. She also booked a restaurant for us. The location is perfect 2 mins from st Marks square and 5 mins to the Rialto bridge. The room is good size plenty of places to hang clothes. Bathroom small but functional (needs a shower curtain). Shower full of power which is always nice. If you wished to get private water taxi to the property there is a stop right outside. Would highly recommend to everyone as nothing we asked of the owners was to much!!!!!!
