Steps from via Montenapoleone (and the lane parallel to via Gesu) into a beautiful courtyard is where Il Salumaio has moved from its earlier & smaller Montenapoleone location... An outstanding ambience & exquisite food ensures a lovely evening..

The title says it all: The restaurant is in both atrium and inside really beautiful. We had a very nice table in the corner inside. The food tastes good (especially the seafood dishes as well as the tiramisu). The service did not reach the level of the rest - the waiter forgot to refill our wine glasses several times. In conclusion, if you want a special evening in a restaurant in an excellent noble atmosphere, you should definitely consider this place.

Nice environment (though quite noisy as a place), good service, quite caring staff, however very average food, really nothing special. Very expensive especially in consideration of quality of food, no value for money at all.

As the headline may indicate, the food was nothing special. I had some seafood pasta that were drowning in tomato sauce. The seafood itself was okay, but surely not better than okay and at 22€ for a primo not okay at all. The seafood pasta were followed by some white fish alla mediterranea which did not blow my mind either- average again but as far as I remember the price was not too high for a secondo. Attentiveness of the waiters is on the verge of zero. Waiters do not really care about the guests and champaign was served in a huge red wine glass- at 30€ for a glass of Ruinart Rosé. After all, not everything about this place is bad. The venue is just beautiful and the atmosphere is amazing at any time of the day. What a great place for a romantic date this could be, if the food was at least "good". It is not a place to avoid at any price, but you should not come here with high expectations regarding the food.

recommended by our hotel.... this is the first place I began truly appreciating fresh pasta and capresse salad! Highly highly recommended... we wanted to come back but it was fully booked already.

Recommended by the concierege as a restaurant will excellent service, good selection and an unrushed atmosphere which we needed on the first day in on a business trip. Il Salumaio meet the requirements perfectly. With a solid selection on the menu, a good selection of wines that were not designed to break the budget, and service focused perfectly on their guests, it's a really good place to enjoy a meal, not rush thru eating on your way to somewhere else. Highly recommend.

We sat at the outside courtyard of this beautiful Italian villa for our dinner. Service was fantastic, our server was very friendly and attentive. Wine list was great and we started with a burrata and prosciutto di Parma that were delicious. I had the spaghettini al funghi and my colleague the cottoleta. Both were tasty, however, not phenomenal. Overall, food was average to good. The restaurant is more about the setting and who's who in the city.

Gets worse with time and too many tourists, but used to be a great place Food normal Italian food nothing exceptional. Service is quick, you need to reserve. meat is always fresh, nice place to have lunch after busy shopping. Will recommend their pasta, risotto and beef, though there is no imagination in dishes, could have much better for the location. People chose this because it is right in the middle of the top shopping area.

The restaurant is very classy located near via Montenapoleone. The interior terrace is amazing carrying you back in time. I had lunch with my girlfriend. She had the risotto milanese and i choose grilled shrimps with exotic salad. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. It s a must for all fine eating fans.

First time visiting the restaurant. The location is right in the middle of the fashion district of Milan. The building is nice, and the restaurant looks nice to. These things set a certain expectation. The menu looks great and the prices are in line what I expected....on the high side of what is normally found in Milan. When the food finally arrived I found myself slightly disappointed. My salad (although the ingredients were fresh) was something I could have made at home. No real presentation. Just salad with seafood mixed in a bowl, with big chunks old seafood in the salad. Hmmm....Not restaurant worthy. Also our Jamon de Joselito arrived together with the salad. I would have liked to have seen this before. Don't understand the squence? The main course was nice with 4 huge grilled gamba's...but you could taste the gamba's were cooked on the same grill as what they normally use for the meat. There was a meat flavor on the gamba's. If I had wanted meat I would have ordered it..... The desert was nice with 'wild' berries. Again just that. Wild berries and cut up strawberries. I could have created the same at home. All in all a nice evening with colleagues, but I would not come back for the food. Milan has better food on offer. If you call yourself a Salumaio.....at least make the effort to present the food as you expect in a restaurant. Not like I present it at home, in between kids crying and watching TV with a half eye. A missed opportunity.

We dined every evening for 3 weeks touring northern Ital with my wife and 2 daughters. We are very picky and this was a fantastic find as every item from start to dessert was exactly how the menu described it. We all tried different things and shared in amazement. The waiter also suggested superb local wines which have my daughters hooked on cool clean crisp whites of the region. Great job folks!!

This restaurant is located in an amazing hundreds of year old palace downtown Milan. The setting is beautiful and the food is very good. The mushroom crepes where amazing and so was the pasta ! Worth going on your way to the luxury shopping area that is half a block away.

Food is ok and location is great, but the staff seemed to be feed up with their work and not interested to either seat you, take your order or deliver (not too crowded at the time we were there). It took us more than 20 minutes to get our ordered soda even after reminding them.

We had one night in milan. We had several options. We decided to give it a try. What a great choice. Outside courtyard with just a great meal. The veal, pasta, fish were all exceptional. The waiter was wonderful. Do not forget. To have the tiramisu. We spent two weeks in Italy and by far this was the best.

Refined restaura , good food in a prime historical location of Milan. An establishment for the milanese. Business people and social lights gather here to dine specially at lunch time. During spring and autumn it is very nice to stay in the courtyard. The rooms, from the museums are amazing and transfer all the glamour of the city.

Had dinner here last week, simple but very good food. The tortellini was excellent as was the mozzarella. Service was attentive and the venue is outstanding, just what you would hope to see in Italy.
