    Table for six please, and we'll try just about everything. Each dish we tasted met or exceeded expectations. The only downside could be the acoustics, it is very loud which makes it difficult to carry on much of a conversation at the table. Yet, we were there primarily for the food, and chatting was secondary! Interesting selections, and each of us enjoyed our meals. Do not skip dessert.

    We happened to walk by during the day and make the very last reservation of the evening. The staff was so friendly and you feel like you're a part of their family once you are seated and you enjoy the authentic vibe. Seating does start at 7:30 pm but of course everyone was so hungry they arrived early. We truly felt bad for the ones who were turned away because we greatly enjoyed the organic house wine, the ham and burrata, the fusilli, the steak with the cauliflower and porcini mushrooms. The best part is that they offered gluten free bread and pasta for my husband. We didn't think we could fit anymore into our pants but somehow managed to still have a chocolate tart (gluten free).

    My husband and I went to Cammillo after seeing it rated highly on here and also mentioned in several articles about good restaurants in Florence. Booking is essential...the first night we arrived at opening. (7.30) and were told they were fully booked. We booked for the next day and were worried it would not be as good as we had read about. However, we had no reason to be concerned...the food was exceptional and the best we'd had in Italy after spending 5 days in Tuscany. The beef carpaccio was stunning, as was the chicken parmigiana and wild fruit and custard tart. Reasonably priced and good service too, depsite what I'd read in some reviews. Great feel as if you're in an authentic eaterie. A must if in Florence and you love good food!

    Delicious food. Unpretentious ambiance and good service. Many customers appeared to be regulars from Florence. We enjoyed the salad and pine nuts, the french fries and the special stuffed veal. Would definitely return. Make a reservation as the restaurant was packed when we left at 9:45 pm.

    One of our favorite meals in Florence. We really enjoyed the gnocchi in a red pepper sauce. Everything we ordered was delicious. We would give it 5 stars but we were seated in their back room and we found the service to not be very attentive. Staff very friendly. Would absolutely go back.

    This restaurant was on top of the list of recommended restaurants from friends who have an apartment near Santo Spirito. It did not disappoint! Pasta stuffed with creamy asparagus and topped with quail/egg was unbelievable. Server was engaging and helpful. Excellent wine selection. Definitely need reservations.

    Lovely staff, food perfect. Would like just a little more variety with the wine list but could not fault this place. Tortelleni the best have ever tried. Is not a " cheap eats" but the price reflects the quality. Will definitely revisit one day.

    If your looking for a typical well home made food in Florence this is the place to be . Make reservations first, they were nice enough to get us a table without reservations especially on the weekend . We ordered the pecorino cheese glazed wth honey and burnt , it was out of this world. Also we ordered the Parma ham with mozerala its ok . And for main course ;we ordered the tagliatelle pasta with white wine and porcini mushrooms which is a must must have !!!! And a special pasta made of rabbit meat and tomato sauce which was really good too.

    Having read in several places that this was an unmissable restaurant in Florence, we were eagerly awaiting the day of our booked dinner, and kept very good memories. The place reeks of authenticity, both in its eclectic decor, as in some of its timeless friendly waiters. Their menu seems to change daily (check the date at the top of this printed menu), with of course some classics and specials of the day. We shared some starters, including a salad and an aubergine "tower", which were both quite disappointing in size, but not in taste. We then tried the famous riboletta soup (good to try, but more of a winter dish) and a few pasta dishes which were truly excellent. The home-made desserts were also delicious and the bill, while slightly higher than other similar places, was nevertheless quite acceptable

    Authentic Florentine cuisine prepared to perfection including the specialties that are now rare to find in any other place, including cervello fritto and different kinds of offal you have probably never thought you'd eat. If available have something with porcini, no matter how they are prepared that day. But one of the reasons I keep going back to Cammillo year after year is the impeccable service, the friendly welcome of the owner-maitre and the amazing curry. Yes, I said curry and it makes total sense to have curry in this neighborhood of Florence where, since the 19th century there has been a flourishing British community with a taste for Indian delicacies. The curry is creamy, tasty, spicy to the right point, the rice is the right one with the right degree of crunchiness. And the mango chutney is so good that they even started selling it by the jar.

    I came here with my wife, having read good reviews about the restaurant. However, the experience was most disappointing. The service was very impersonal. We were ignored most of the time that we were there for dinner. I ordered a squid salad, which was nothing to write home about. My wife had what was described as 'Italian vegetable soup' when it was just some bean paste, which did not look remotely like a soup dish. For main course, I ordered veal which was very standard fare. My wife has beef fillet which was the only reasonably enjoyable dish of the whole evening. We did not bother to order any deserts and would certainly not be back.

    A friend who frequents Florence gave us this recommendation and we thought it was fabulous. The interior is very appealing and the menu wide ranging and authentic. Many choices and a fair price. It has a full bar and was also air conditioned. We would go back.

    We were recommended this place by a friend and it certainly lived up to expectations. Our entree the carpaccio was delicious. We had the beef fillet with porcini mushrooms and chicken in butter and sage sauce for mains, both of which were cooked perfectly and tasted sensational. We had a side of potato chips (literally looked like potato crisps) which were unbelievably moorish. The deserts being the tiramisu and chocolate cake were out of this world. We took it as a good sign that being Sunday lunch the whole place was packed, people looking for tables had to be turned away and most of them all locals! Highly recommend this place despite it not being a cheap feed out.

    Our meal was so tasty! I had a pasta dish with peas and pancetta with a light cream sauce that was delicious. The pasta is homemade and just melts in your mouth. My husband had their chicken parmigiana, which looks nothing like what you get in the U.S. but is much tastier. He loved it so much he wants to figure out how to make the dish in the same style. Our wine was lovely and the service we got was good.

    Knock out appetizer of roasted peppers, anchovies and ricotta. Fabulous omelet. Learned from this meal to ask if the cod is fresh or baccala, since mine was two or three soakings short of de-salted.

    I've come to this restaurant since 1979 when I first visited Florence. Since then, this is one of my favorite place to eat. When you come to this restaurant, you MUST order their TRIPPA and BOTTARGA PASTA it is out of this world ! Their BISTECCA is great too. (They will refuse to cook well done...they will cook medium rare to rare anyways) Now, you can not expect smiley service here, you'll have to act like you know about their food. Good luck !

    We noticed this restaurant while dining elsewhere in the neighborhood and thought the waiting crowd outside was likely a good sign. This restaurant is located in a residential section of Florence and it has a nice, casual neighborhood feel. We enjoyed the homemade fettuccini with porcini and grilled rabbit. We shared an arugula salad and the balsamic vinegar and olive oil were superb. The restaurant had a lively, intimate buzz and we were so glad that others speaking Italian were palpable in our dining room. It's why we travel, to be with others in the world, to experience and learn! Great night!

    We found this place via a NYC food critics review. Separately we googled and had some reservations as it was labeled as a tourist trap. However we went with an open mind. We ordered an appetizer - brulee pecorino with balsamic apple vinegar. This was a pure surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Second we had the fettuccine with lamb pasta. We could not get enough of this pasta. The pasta was the thinnest we've ever had. Hands down the best! We were recommended the chicken with curry sauce over rice with a mango sauce. We were a bit wary but satisfied. We ordered this dish based on the waiters recommendation too! The desert... tiramisu. Oh my goodness soo good. Pros - homemade fettuccine with lamb sauce and tiramisu Side note: beware of the service fee a lot of restaurant charges in Italy
