We had a really nice meal with wine thete. Waiters were very kind and lroffessional. We were really happy about our lunch there. Food is a bit pricy there tho, we paid quite a lot.

Tucked into a corner directly below the Duomo. It looked like there was a wine bar inside, but we enjoyed the patio instead. Good food and wonderful service, but the menu is definitely seafood heavy. There are a few meat options (1 pork, 1 lamb, and a couple beefs if I remember correctly) and 2-3 plain pasta dishes. My mom ordered the gnocchi, which was absolutely delicious! I wanted the lemon pesto pasta, but unfortunately they were out. So I got a side of the potatoes and sauteed veggies, which were also very good. Only 1 dessert of the day, but there was a good bread basket with oil and vinegar.

This restaurant was so good, we went back the next day for lunch. The lemon pesto was amazing! The broccoli rabe was also a standout--probably the best I've ever had and I've eaten it my entire life. Definitely worth a visit.

This restaurant is a little out of the way, although right next to the Duomo, and has an unusual decor of interesting art. The service was excellent and the menu varied. The Spaghetti with lemon was amazing and will not be soon forgotten, while the pork in wine was also excellent. Be aware that this establishment only accepts cash.

It’s been over a month since I’ve been back from Italy but I didn’t want to forget writing about the favourite dinner from our trip that we ended up having twice! The lemon pesto pasta was such an incredible and delectable flavour combination that my friends and I still talk about it, and the gnocchi can only be described as airy pillows of goodness. The food was so good that the next afternoon when we were strolling around Amalfi, we decided that instead of trying another restaurant we should immediately make another reservation at Apostoli; and we did! It’s also such a lovely cozy terrace right next to the church, and Sarah our waitress was absolutely one of the nicest people we met, full of warmth and great recommendations on what we should order; thank you Sarah and come back to Canada soon! ;-)

While I expect the Sea Bass is always extraordinary, perhaps there was a little extra blessing on the food after we wandered through a side door of the Doumo and witnessed a wonderful evening Mass in one of the sub chapels. Now, about the food. As recommended, by the staff at Hotel Bellevue, we - two couples - began with the antipasti of local seafood: amazing. Entree's were the sea bass, for two, pasta with local clams and a surprisingly good steak (after two weeks of pasta, pasta, pasta it was time for meat). Our hostess pleasantly notified us they accepted payment only in cash. We like this restaurant so much that it was one of only two restaurants we visited more than once during trip.

Amalfi has its fair share of mediocre restaurants geared solely for tourists. This is NOT one of them. Fantastic cuisine made with real heart and soul by a local family using local ingredients and recipes. Plus the art works inside are fascinating and staff incredibly nice. A great find!

A wonderful restaurant, true Italian dishes! Staff amazingly hospitable and courteous. We had grilled calamari and pumpkin purée to start, might not sound that great but was delicious. My wife and I both had provolone stuffed gnocchi with a simple tomato garlic sauce , was exceptional and those little pillows of goodness and cheese made for a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend as a place to eat in Amalfi proper Moma serves up great authentic Italian dishes!

Romantic location by the duomo, well lit for an evening. Menu choice very appealing. Wine very expensive, no carafes. Lovely food but very slow arriving. Need to pay in cash.

We walked by this restaurant several times - it's located to one side of the steps leading up to the Duomo. As we walked by, we would see Mama cooking in the kitchen and smelled the most enticing smells. We decided that we had to eat here and we were not disappointed. Fantastic bolognaise sauce and I though the lemon pesto sauce was to die for!! Great desserts too. Reservations a must!

My wife, niece and I had dinner at Taverna degli Apostoli recently. Just off the main square and next to the church, Taverna degli Apostoli is in a prime position. My wife and I ordered the Seafood Soup for two, we were not disappointed. Plenty of seafood in a delicious broth served with garlic bread. My niece ordered the pasta (what Grandma used to make) and unfortunately was disappointed in the dish. Taverna degli Apostoli does not take credit cards so make sure you have enough cash. Great location, friendly staff, I think overpriced but that's Amalfi!!

What a great experience... cosy located in the center of Amalfi near the dome. The babysquid starter was absolutely the best I have ever tasted: crisp, grilled and perfect combined with mashed pumpkin. Delicious. The spaghetti with vongole was also very tasty. One tip: order wine by the bottle, because the price per glass is too expensive.

Very nice staff, family feel. The food is delicious, especially the pasta with the lemon pesto. We found the wine by the glass price higher than average (8 euro). A very good meal.

This is a truly special restaurant. We had a wonderful dinner here our first night in Amalfi, followed by a disappointing dinner at a different local restaurant, so we came back for a second time on our last night. The pasta is beautiful, and the staff are just lovely. Try to get a spot on the small romantic balcony area to the left of the main restaurant. It's candle-lit and quiet, looking out over the square. I also highly recommend the tomato side salad and 'full bodied' red wine - I wish I had written down what it was. Many of the restaurants in Amalfi seem to overpriced with sub-par food, this is the exception.

Stumbled across this place for lunch visiting Amalfi. It’s set back behind the Cathedral in a nice secluded spot away from the busy piazza. Playing beautiful Italian music we had a table in the shade looking down onto the piazza. I had a simple mixed salad & potato wedges in olive oil, my husband had lemon pesto pasta which he said was divine. Staff very friendly & welcoming with speedy service. Really lovely place & highly recommend.

At 7pm we were the first / only customers to be seated which to me is not a good sign. I needn't have worried because by 7.20 the place was full and new customers were being advised of a 90 minute wait. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable, with fluent English. We had the lemon pesto pasta which was new flavour combination for me but was wonderfully intense and creamy. We followed with grilled sea bream (cooked in lemon leaves) which was perfectly cooked and delicately succulent. A local wine to accompany the meal was good. Not the cheapest meal on our Italian odessy but was worth every cent. Would return but would ensure to reserve a table ahead of time.

I chose this place based on the reviews. I always make a point of reading some of the negative reviews even if a place scores very highly just to see what may go wrong. I did find some reviews mentioning slow service but chose to give it a go based on the food reports. Unfortunatley we had a 50 minute wait between our starter and main. When we arrived we were asked whether we had booked but we had not. They said no problem and that there was a table. During our wait we noticed some other customers asking when was their food going to be ready. After our 50 minute wait, the food was fine but marred by the fact that we were a little annoyed by now. The waitor asked us after we had finished if everything was OK. When we said we were dissapointed with the long wait he told us that as they were busy and as we had not reserved that we were lower priority! So this made us mad! Why offer us a table if you can't please your customer? It was the most expensive meal we had during our stay but needless to say we did not leave a tip. Also, they only accept cash, so had to pop to the cashpoint before we could order. I'm sure this is a rare example but I would have preffered honesty and an apology rather than making it seem like it was our fault for not having reserved in advance.

We had lunch in this restaurant, a bit tricky to find but we went there on a recommendation and were not disappointed. Very good food "Mamma" style, excellent service, good price vs quality. Note they do not accept credit cards.
