Almost every room has a view of the castle up on the hill and the view of the castle at night is beautiful. There is plenty of entertainment for both adults and children to enjoy. This is a wellness hotel and the pools and saunas are very nice. I had a very good massage also. I think there is something for everyone here. Rooms are very nice and breakfast and dinner buffets are excellent. If you want to venture from the relaxing atmosphere of the hotel, there is the Sigligeti (sp?) castle and the really nice Festitics palace in Keszthely. Overall, we had a great experience. Loved the horse shows!

We had a great weekend here. Nice quiet room, fantastic view, good pools, large selection of food. The historic neighborhood is charming with enough entertainment for a couple of afternoons. Most of the hotel staff seemed noticeably unenthusiastic, but not so much as to be a bother. We'd love to come again.

We have visited this hotel as a company group for a company event. Nice, clean rooms, friendly staff, very good food in the restaurant. We could see a nice wellness. We have joined also the offered program of Knight show with a medieval feast in the area near the hotel. Also a nice to see and experience. We were leaving all satisfied. Since we did not have much time to experience also the wellness, we have decided (with my wife) to come and visit again very soon. The parking is available in front of the hotel. Some non updated car navigation systems do not register a new highway from Györ to south, so I recommend to check maps on Google or Waze to make your trip shorter, if you are coming from the direction Czech Republic or western part of Slovakia. The ration price / value is definitely good and I recommend to visit. It seems to be an excellent place for 2 - 4 night short holiday stay. Do not forget to visit the castle, it is worth the steep road to go to get there.

We've tried only the restaurant from the street, we were not the guest of the hotel. The staff was nice and happy, the food were OK. Children liked the children menus and we could taste nice wines and the caffe was also good

We had a weekend getaway here and it was wonderful. Service is really great, staff is super helpful. The food is mostly Hungarian cuisine with a great selection of tasty dishes. Rooms are really nice and some of those has a view to the castle. For just a few miles away, you can find TESCO and gas station. There are also great options for hiking.

Very nice hotel, with view to the castle. The hotel is baby and children frendly, very good and tasty breakfast and dinners, the wellness is small one, but nice, also with the view to the castle. The programme organised with the hotel horses -and dinner is wonderful. The castle s only 10 minutes from the hotel and is very good for families with childrens with number of attractions for the chllds.

I would say that the location of the hotel is very unique. Having the castle just "above" your head is very unusual. Wellness facilities are okay, rather more for adults than for kids, but one can still manage even with children. Food is rather heavy, but with a great variety for everyone. You can also find salads, soups, if you are not up to traditional Hungarian cuisine. Breakfast also one of the widest choices. We also participated on the historical event followed by the traditional medieval dinner - can recommend to attend for all age groups. It is an awesome experience.

We heard from everyone how good this hotel is so we gave it a try. It was a dissapointment because a few attractions in the wellnes area weren´t on and the food was poor. We ask at the reception why they don´t turn on the attractions but they couldn´t give an answer. The food was too poor for a hotel like this. Best thing was the breakfast.

I've already been in lot of wellness hotels but I think this hotel is one of the best. We spent 2 nights with our 2 children. For the children there are some pools, there is a big playing room and the restaurant is childrenfriendly. The room was clean and the bed was well. The staff was very, very friendly and professional in every place (spa, reception, restaurant etc.) View from the room and restaurant is great, because if you have a "good" room you can see the castle - which you can reach in about 15-20 min walking time. The spa is great, there is a big pool, in which you can swim and some Jacuzzi"s and other relaxing pools in 2 floors. The food in the restaurant was well and delicious. The location of the hotel is ok, you can reach the castle but to visit the city you need more time for walking. I recommend this hotel!!!

Great hotel, I can recommend to everyone. The castle could not be closer. The meals are delicious, the rooms are clean, the staff is kind. Parking facilities are good. The castle offers enough entertainment for several days.

I decided to put this in English in order to encourage foreign travellers as well to explore the Hotel Kapitany. It has an outstanding location, at the bottom of the Sumeg Castle which is very easy to reach on foot. Once we checked in, we realized that the room is rather a standard than a superior which we actually booked, but it took less than 10 minutes to get the right one. It was on the 3rd floor overlooking to the pool area and has given a side view to the castle. We liked it very much. It was large and comfortable, suitable for a family of 3. Let me have only one negative remark here, and that is the quality of the toilet paper and its holder. It sounds trivial I admit, but once you get into the situation you'll find it embarrassing too (sorry!). The outside pool area is very nice, there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas, and the bar service is outstanding. You only need to relax, enjoy your drink and take a dip if you feel so. The halfboard dinner & breakfast was quite simple, but all of the choices were fresh and tasty. I really do not want to be rude with anyone, but the evening entertainment (and I mean the music band here) is a bit low profile, however it is great for the kids which is definitely a plus point for us. Since the weather was warm we have not checked the indoor wellness area, neither the gym which was under reconstrutcion. The massage was forgetable. I truly recommend to try the medieval playground and take a walk around the stables. Visiting the Sümeg Castle is a must. It has been renovated very nicely, with lot of action points (archery, horse riding, theme-rooms with wax figures, etc). The best experience for us was definitely the medieval tournament, organized by the hotel. We enjoyed the show from the beginng to the end. Respect for all of the players! They are very professional, passionate and visibly commited to this. Also do not afraid to try the feast afterwards. The roasted goose is the best I have ever tried ( the soup was fantastic too). It worth to exchange with the halfboard dinner for sure. Overall, the experience we received was phenomenal, and this is what we went for. I could ignore the hotel's small defects, they do not count. We will definitely come back!

My family and I would have liked this hotel if we had not paid 200euro per night for a family of 4. It is a nice clean hotel with an adequate spa. The rooms are nothing special but clean but the sofa bed for the kids is incredibly hard and uncomfortable with paper thin pillows. Ridiculous as our 5 year old cost as much as an adult. The breakfast is fine but dinner at the hotel was a horror. We went late and the food was undercooked and bland. Still there are lots of staff in all areas and this is not always common here in Hungary. On Saturday we went to the medieval show which we all loved. The dinner after the show was tasty but there are not choices. Still the food was hot even though there was a very large number of guests. We would definitely come again but for half the price.

We arrived around 4pm check in was all right, but one of the receptionest lady wasn't really helpful and friendly! Room was really nice and big with a view to the castle! Spa was nice with enough pool, gym is nice too! Breakfast was really nice plantymof choices and all breakfast staff were really nice! We had dinner on the second night which was a 3 course dinner...it was extremely delicious, i can just recomend to everyone!!! I can't remember for the waiter's name, but he was really friendly with us! Just a suggestion for the receptionest: to not making face front of the guest, but all overall i would stay there again!

We were in the hotel with a voucher which we won for 2 nights. The breakfast and dinner were rich and delicious, we liked the fresh-made pancake and egg, which were prepared according to our wishes at the corner of the restaurant. Since it was winter, the outside-part of the wellness-island was closed, but the inside part was very good! I loved the soft music in the sauna and relax zone, it helped the recreation. By the check-in we get a coupon for buying the original meat-products, and we used it by our departure. That ham was really fine! I can say only 2 things, which were disappointing: 1. The treadmill in the fitness room was out of order. 2. I think that in a wellness hotel there should be more opportunities for drying the wet towels and bathrobes, because in winter in a double room without balcony, a small radiator in the bathroom is not enough for this aim.

The hotel has a good location, you can reach the castle very easy. The hotel is in good condition, wellness area, rooms, restaurants are beautiful. The choice and quality of food is really exceptional. Programs and animation team is brilliant, children (5,7) enjoyed every seconds of the weekend.

We spent 3 nights here with my girlfriend and we had a perfect stay. The komplexum is very professional. There are 3 different restaurants, an inside and an outside horse theater, the fortress and the spa in the Hotel. We had a room with view on the fortress and view on the town at the other side. The breakfast and the the dinner was very copious and delicious. We had very relaxing time in the spa. If I really want to find something negative I would mention that they didn't realize during the 3 nights that the last two lamps was out at the end of the corridor where our room took place, but this is really nothing.

We have been there for 2 night with a kid, we go a travel baby bed which was good enough for my daughter to sleep in. I enjoyed the food so much. They have limited variety of swimming pools and sauna, we expected more variety with this price.

We stayed 4 nights in the hotel with 2 kids (1 baby). The hotel has the nicest staff we've ever been. Our stay started with a knight show (I think it's twice a week) on the first day, right next to the hotel in an arena, and it was great, the kid(s) loved it. After we went to a "king's feast" also beside the arena, where were so many people that we thought we can't even fit. But we did easily, because the restaurant has a 300+ place. The food was great, and well chosen, not only on this feast, but on the next days also. What was really nice, that after the show, most of the "actors" also served the food. And it wasn't feeling like they don't have enough people, rather they hire well trained people and they serve in many ways. And everybody was really nice and helpful. Even the owner was eating in the restaurant with other guests. Rooms are clean, and the swimming pools also good. The castle that is next to the hotel is nice to see. Oh, and the kid loved the mini disco :) Was great to stay here.

This is a lovely hotel in excellent surroundings at the foot of Sumeg Castle.Very nice large reception area with pleasant staff. Nice clean comfortable rooms with very small balcony. Dinning area down stairs looking out over quaint little outside pool. Food was good with nice selection. Inside pool slightly bigger and a tad warmer

Nice place, awesome castle and view, very good to stay there for relaxation and to take a rest a bit. It is also worth spending a little time here if you are going to the northern coast of lake Balaton.
