One of the few fairly-priced restaurants in Chora of Folegandros (most of them are pricey), and one of the two best "matsata" (local pasta) dishes I had in the island. Very good barbecue, as well, I enjoyed it every single time.

The food was not bad, but nothing special compared to many of the great meals we've had so far in the islands. And the service was bored and indifferent, although they shut down for the season the next day so that may have had something to do with it.

Thank you Melissa for hosting our wedding party in the square. We have had lots of lovely comments about the food from our friends and family who shared our magical day with us :)

Being quite demanding lately i would say is just a tavern. Not bad though. In a 'good' location can offer you a variety of products. A lot of tastes to have but i guess nothing so special without meaning you dont have to try it.

Small dishes, slow service, basic tastes, a bit expensive concerning it's portions , nice location in the center of village

We had lunch here and it was very good. Just traditional Greek food and as it was lunch some items were not available but what we ordered was excellent. It was also nice and quiet at lunch time. The only downside was the waitress seemed to have lost her personality. However as we were there to eat and the food was good and fast it wasn't an issue.

There are several large squares in Chora and the Melissa is to be found in one of them. The tables are in the centre of the square under the trees. The restaurant is one of three or four in the square, but seems to be one of the more popular ones. The food is pretty standard, but well done.

My wife and I sat in the main square one night and had a typical Greek taverna meal at this restaurant. The food was similar to most other places on the island. The only special thing we enjoyed was seeing the great amount of all sorts of people walking around the square. Very noisy.

We arrived in Folegandros in time for lunch and there are so many places to choose from, but we decided on Melissa's which shares its terrace with 2 other restaurants. We had a lovely black bean salad and grilled feta to start. I had the rabbit stifado with rice which was unbelievably tasty; the hubster had tigania, which is pork prices in white wine and lime juice- again, incredibly seasoned, simple and slow cooked to perfection. A lovely location, friendly and helpful service - thank you!

Dakos, fried zucchini, local cheese pie, chicken souvlaki with oven potatoes, vine leaf (dolmadakia) and the equivalent with cabbage leaf were just perfect. Very good Greek cuisine and smiling service. Always crowded and now I know why.

Why Yes: Lovely atmosphere in the center of Chora, Staff is friendly and welcoming (at least before it gets crowded..), Food is traditional Greek with Folegandros's specialties Why No: It easily gets crowded in high season and the magic of the atmosphere might get lost (e.g. people talking loud in the tables nearby)

We visited for lunch during a power cut, so the menu was limited, but the food we had was still good. We had traditional Greek pasta with pork mince & sauce. We also had really fresh bread, very tasty! I wish we had the chance to eat from the full menu as I had good recommendations for this restaurant.

A quite spontaneous choice, our first night on our first visit to Folegandros on a high season. Excellent, very picturesque location in the centre of Chora but... the dishes we ordered (local cuisine) tasted ok but didn't really made an impression! Noisy and crowdy. Quite unpersonal service, maybe because of the number of guests. Not a pricy but neither a cheap choice. Overall a decent place but nothing impressive!

We ate here twice on our recent trip. The setting is lovely in the third square in the Chora. The menu is well priced with all the food exceptionally fresh. They have specials of the day which are all local dishes. The house white wine is good and the cheese spring rolls a major hit with all. Service was great.

We spent a week in Chora and we tried lots of places and didn't find this one till late in the week but is was in our opinion the best one we tried. If you like french fries try their version "potatoes Melissa" lovely.Suffice to say if we'd found this one first we'd have eaten there a lot more.

We had great food here and even better service. September was when we came to the island, so it was close to the season end, and I wanted some home made Pasticho, which in my opinion is better than traditional Mousaka. Melissa delivered. We also had Saganaki, which was above average, and Deep Fried Zucchini fries which were delightful.

Go there and try real local cuisine. We were there on Septmber and we enjoyed everything. Place, food, service and prices were great. I hope they can offer same quality services also in high summer season. Go there and have at least one meal.

The place is one of the most central and weel known on the island and you will definitely pass by as you wander around the unique Chora. It is located on a central spot where people tend to stay till really late and have beers or wine under a beautiful scenery. The food was really nice but not something extravagant.Nice food - more traditional one but with a modern addition both in appearance and final taste. The staff is really frinedly and ready to take care of you even though is fully packed every evening. Definitely recommended for one of your meals in the island as it comprises good food, nice environment under the trees and it's the perfect hotspot!
