We were staying at the hotel next door and decided to call in for pre dinner drinks. Good choice of cocktails and wine. Its a very spacious bar with plenty of seating. The following day we returned for a light lunch before our journey home,it was all very tasty, and we would certainly visit again.

Went with my partner and a friend as we had been earlier In the year, we weren't disappointed either. Food was excellent and a bit different to the normal stuff you get, presentation out of this world. Add the food to the bar next door and the Viceroy downstairs it makes for a pretty decent night without leaving the building!

We went to Please To Meet You on Saturday evening with old friends who had been guests at your restaurant befor and had a lovely dining experience and wanted to share it again with my partner and myself. The restaurant was lovely and the menu very exciting. Sadly my food was not cooked as I had requested, if the front of house had come back to me to say I could not have my lamb "not pink" I would have chosen something else from the menu, it was served to me very pink in fact cold, it was returned to the kitchen, when it came it was inedible not because the lamb had been re cooked it was the fact that the rest of the plate had been left under the lights and started to separate and congeal so not appetising at all, so at this point the rest of the guests had just about Finnished their meals so I did not want to choose another meal. In the mean time my partner had ordered the pork that was served with the cling film it had been wrapped in still attached. We called the manager over who was most apologetic and said she would sort out our bill. We understand that meals may not be as we expect and we feel the manager reacted in the appropriate way, sadly the disappointment was the fact that when the meals were taken away, not one of the front of house staff returned to our tale (including the manager) to ask if we wanted more drinks desert or coffee, they totally avoided our table, the restaurant was not busy so we could not understand why as we did not make a scene or really complain, we just pointed out why we did not eat our food, the other food served at our table was very nice. We felt very disappointed for our friends as they had highly recommended your restaurant, and today the only reason I am posting this is the fact that the manager said she would pass our dissatisfaction to the owner and we would be contacted by the owner via email but we have so far had nothing. We did get our meals removed from the bill, but again the disappointment was the lack of customer service, we would have liked to have tried a desert and a coffee, but when we asked for the menu it was too late to be served with desert. We did have a cocktail again very disappointed the Joan Collins was all ice chunks once removed definitely not enough liquid in the glass to cover the description of the drink. At this point in time I don't feel I would recommend this restaurant sadly it was a lovely restaurant just some attention to front of house is required. I work in the food industry myself and this was not the best dining experience I have had or would expect.

I was recommended to try out the food ay Pleased to meet you. My self and two friends went yesterday for lunch. it was 12:20 when we went to the bar and ordered our drinks. we asked the young girl do we order food at the bar. the girl said no, i will send a waitress to your table. 12:40 still no waitress. i went back to the bar and asked a young man this time, he said i will send a waitress to your table. 1:10pm still no waitress had turned up. i could understand if it was busy, but it wasnt. there was us 3 at one table and another man at another table. thats a total of 4 people in the place. we decided to leave. i took the our glasses back to the bar, where i said to the bar person that we had been waiting since 12;20 for a waitress to come to our table and i had been told twice by staff that one would come and nothing. he said i can get one know. i said sorry its to late and we left. the staff were more intrested in talking to each other. sorry i wont be comming back, or recomending anyone else either.

We stopped her for some pre concert drinks on a Saturday afternoon. The vibe was really friendly and the best part had to be the gin selection. There were so many to choose from. We would visit again.

Food was so badly cooked that it was sent back twice and eventually I gave up and went without a meal. Staff were slow and unhelpful, wine was ordered and didn't arrive for approx 20 minutes, it came in an ice bucket with no ice in it... The manager informed me that the chef was unable to cook a fillet steak rare and my choice was to take his overcooked one or nothing.

We'd been to Brown's & walked out in disgust & ended up here, staff were quick to serve us & I requested a sample of the cider with ginger, no problem, wow, ordered it, gorgeous. Liked that some of the pumps were at the rear of the bar, amazing decor, quirky but really in keeping with the style of the building, quite a lot of people drinking here so had a good atmosphere with some wonderful music in the background, we sat in one of the window areas as it was a lovely balmy evening so the windows were open, affording some welcomed air. Can't believe we've not found this bar before now, what a fantastic find, absolutely loved it!

What a lovely place - beautiful inside and amazing variety of drinks. I went for Hoxton gin which I'd never heard of with tonic. Hubby had 2 half pints of beer. Unfortunately, one of them was clearly off - he went back and staff dealt with it very professionally, offered an alternative and immediately took the beer off. Really enjoyed our drinks and friendly staff - we will come back for food.

Lots of exposed brick and quirky decor, the drinks are exciting and the staff are good. There are 100s of gins to choose from. The bar itself is dark with lots of tucked away booths and corners, perfect for quiet drinks with friends on a weeknight or dates or big nights out at the weekend!

we called in here as we were in Newcastle as part of my birthday, first off we had drinks and a bit later we saw others having food brought out in the main bar area, even though it was getting on a bit they were still more than happy to bring us a menu even though we were sat in open french door setting. we decided on a lite bite to share it had pies, scotch eggs, warm bread rolls, pickles, cheese, and a knob of butter all served a board more than enough as a sharer, the staff were really nice nothing was a bother cant wait to go back again, forgot to mention not that you may find important but the mens was very nice not the usual hovel, lovely clean white tiles and quaint cubicles and great double sinks too

We don't live in Newcastle so we asked family to recommend somewhere nice and they suggested here. We had a really pleasant meal, the food was delicious and the staff very attentive. The cocktails were nice but a tad unusual- I had never had a lemon Bellini before but did enjoy it! The ambience and the decor of the restaurant was really lovely. The only tiny criticisms were my boyfriend had the ham hock terrine and it had way too much parsley in it and there were quite a few staff on for a quiet Monday night and instead of waiting in the staff room when they had nothing to do they were gathered in the restaurant having a joke and a laugh which was a little unprofessional. But they were only little things and we had a lovely evening, compliments to the chef for the chicken it was amazing!

Went with colleagues for a drink as a meeting place, this was my first visit. Lovely decor, polite staff and a good outside seating area. Decent range of drinks including the boards. I had a pint of the Jalapeño Ale which was alright but I couldn't believe it as £8.60 a pint (ouch). I wouldn't have one again. Would certainly return for drinks and the restaurant.

We came here before going to the stand comedy club which is just a few doors down. We were asked whether we wanted to sit in the restaurant or bar however the bar was quite loud so we chose restaurant which seemed to be the complete opposite. It was quite a fancy restaurant with immaculate decor and was very nice. The staff were all very lovely and attentive however they tried taking our order almost straight away and came back very fast so we had to say a few times that we weren't ready. At one point I looked behind me to read what drinks were up on the wall and someone came over because they thought we'd called them and again we had to apologise and say we weren't ready again and we felt a little awkward. We were asked twice if we wanted water for our table when we arrived but we'd already said yes the first time, we didn't realise this was at a charge of £3 but hey ho. I asked for cocktail recommendations however we were recommended a chocolatey one and that wasn't really what I was looking for as I would be eating. But the woman was very good and asked what I liked and based her recommendations from that. The food was maybe a little expensive but we wanted the burgers and felt they were reasonably priced, they were a little slow on getting the food to us which felt strange as the restaurant was quite empty but eventually it came and was very nice. The chips were lovely. The waitress was really lovely and when she came to ask if we wanted desert we told her we had to go as we had a show and she was very helpful and got us the bill straight away. All in all I'd say the staff were lovely and the service was amazing, the food was good and it was definitely somewhere a little nicer to go. Loved the exposed brick walls and the copper piping, would return.

This is based in a great location in the centre of town down a back alley. The décor is excellent and great bar staff who are constantly busy. Toilets are lush. The drinks are stupidly overpriced though and to be honest there is so much competition now that I would only use this bar now and again.

We found this bar and restaurant on a previous trip to Newcastle when we stopped in for a spot of lunch. This time we booked a table in the restaurant for 7.30 on a Saturday evening. The bar was already packed out and it was rather noisy but this is Newcastle on a Saturday night, so you don't really expect anything less. It's a popular bar filled the beautiful people, all drinking cocktails and gin which it seems to have a reputation for. You have to go through the bar to reach the restaurant but once you are in the noise level drops altogether and is not a problem. The menu was excellent and the food cooked to perfection. 10 out of 10 for presentation alone along with excellent and attentive service from the waiting staff. Great wine list along with cocktails and every gin imaginable. I can't recommend this place highly enough and make sure you book in advance.

Called in for lunch on a shopping trip. The sun shone through the open french doors giving you a feeling that you were actually sat outside. The staff were attentive and polite. The food was lovely; we made the right choice choosing the grazing menu, Couldn't find fault with anything.

Visited with a group of lady friends in June 2017 - we had a fabulous start to our evening. We didn't wait at the bar too long, despite it being really, really busy. All bar folks very pleasant and prices were ok for city centre. Will definitely keep it in our list of regulars..

Fantastic bar, no idea why since i've heard of Pleased to meet you and lived in or around Newcastle I hadn't been sooner, one of the lads behind the bar I want to say ben.. had particularly short hair something of a mohawk going on was brilliant crack and served myself and my friend every time, will definitely be a frequent visitor based on that staff member alone, a little crack on a busy day like yesterday is sometimes what you need to keep you there! Spot on!
