Maybe I over hyped myself for the place. Staff seemed disinterested. Fries were cold. The steak tartare, which they recommend even on their menu, was average at best. I was disappointed but I have had worse.

Snippy reviews notwithstanding, if you are looking for a low-priced four star gourmet meal in the heart of Paris, this is not the place for you. If you are interested in sitting outside but out of the sun on the Place des Vosges and having a nice salad for lunch, this place is hard to beat. I have had lunch here many times, and my experience has been consistently good. The food has always been just fine, the location is hard to beat, and having a relaxed lunch outside...there is nothing wrong with that! The only trick is figuring out where to sit where someone is not smoking.

I went to the Marais neighborhood with some friends and decided to sit down in this place just for a coffe and an ice cream. the service is simply horrible, no care was given to us, the first waiter that served us gave me the spoon to eat the icecream touching it on the part that you put in your mouth (DISGUSTING) and when we asked for some sugar for the coffee a second waiter just took the sugar pot and slammed it on the table. these people could not care less of us and of their job. HORRIBLE SERVICE and the food seerved was not even so good DO NOT GO SPEND YUR MONEY THERE

This restaurant in at atmospheric old building compltete with dark wood and beams wears its history proudly. I believe it has been in the family for many generations. The first meal I had I ate outside: a salad with sweet lobster, a thin slice of foi gras, egg and a very generous portion of smoked salmon. That along with some chilled Aligote, a regional specialty and a view of Place deVogues made for a perfect few hours. The service was attentive and the owner was there greeting diners as guests. I was even offered a sample of the charcuterie he and his friends were eating. I returned for dinner inside and it did not disappoint.

We really enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. Situated in the beautiful Place des Vosges this is a great location with loads of atmosph ere at any time of the day. Friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. Great menu and wine selection. Good tasty food - steak was 1st class! Bit on the expensive side but you are paying a premium for this location in Paris. Overall highly recommended

During my 5months stay in Paris, I've been to Ma Bourgogne on several occasions for dinner with my family, with friends and with my boyfriend. A Parisian friend recommended it to me saying that it was one of the typical old Parisian Bistros and I was in no way disappointed by his description. The place is small and very cute. The staff is very nice and welcoming and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite dishes were the tartare de boeuf and the rumpsteak au poivre which I'd both really recommend. Also, the typical tarte tatin was fantastic. The surroundings with the place des voges in the marais quartier is another big plus! Can't wait to head back!

Unfortunately, Ma Bourgogne, while still serving terrific 'steak tartare' is loosing it's charm. Overpriced, and with a surly and arrogant staff, this restaurant is not what it used to be and is on the verge of becoming a tours trap. We will return, hopefully not for the last time¡

Service is ok, bit slow. Waiter couldn't understand English and so gave us medium steaks which were basically raw and so inedible. At 38 euro a dish, that was very expensive wasted meat dishes. Salads were fine. But wife got a flea in her wine. French fries bit soggy and oily. Overall very disappointing and would given this one star but the ambience was good. Save your money and find a better place. Disappointing and feels like a tourist trap.

I can't even explain how bad the food was. The entree, main, and even the cheese was horrible. The server was polite and friendly, and the wine was satisfactory. But I will NEVER set foot in this place again.

We came without a booking and they could handle orders in English as well. The menu was classic French fare and the food came quickly and was of an acceptable quality. The wine list by glass was extensive. Try the specials wine.

Nothing sets this place apart from the many restaurants in the Maria's, except for the incomparable view.

This was recommended in one of my guide books and I should have looked at Trip Advisor. It's inside The Place De Vosges with tables inside and out. Attractive setting. Prices are a little high, mostly a la carte unless you get the menu with multiple courses for 38 euros each. Nice wine, but had to ask waiter 3 times for a carafe of water. He was in no hurry. Niçoise salad was fine but in a bowl for you to serve on a plate. Roasted chicken was a thigh and a leg with French fries. OK but nothing to rave about. Best thing was The Berthillion ice cream.

Must be one off the right places to taste the most famous parisiense dishes... love the escargots, tartar, foie gras, creme brûlée, tarte tartin... very nice staff, but a little bit expensive with wine!

Great location on the Place des Vosges. Pleasant waiters. We had a Croque Monsieur and a steak. Very ordinary, mediocre fries, not great.

Year after year, the owner has a table in the right corner to keep a watchful eye when he is not helping. Consequently, the place is predictable, you know what you are going to find and get if you are a regular. We visit Ma Bourgogne each time we are in Paris to enjoy traditional French cooking.

Hearty traditional fare in a convivial atmosphere----this is not stuffy white-glove service, but one is made to feel welcome here and the food is comfort food. Steak au poivre was exceptionally tasty. Crowded on a Saturday night, but I a good way with an international crowd. Price fix meals were a very good deal with hearty portions.

Had a lovely meal here. The view of Place des Vosges is amazing and the food was great. We both had the salmon steak off the al la carte menu and it was beautifully cooked with a yummy white sauce.

spent a couple hours at Place des Vosges and popped into Ma Bourgogne for lunch. The outdoor sitting area was nice and lovely looking. the wait staff were decent but the food was kind of average for what turned out to be our most expensive meal in Paris. I expected a bit more flavor from the lamb chops but it was rather bland. Not sure if i would return for another meal but their wine selections were superb and we had a great carafe of Pouilly Fume

This ended up being our most expensive meal on our recent Paris trip, but is was certainly the most memorable. We had dinner on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was pretty crowded. My fiance had lamb shank served over a tomato and white bean sauce - it was amazing, and I opted for steak frites with bernaise. Also, delicious. Because of one spectacular wine recommendation (a Bordeaux), we ended up ordering more and slowly sipped as we enjoyed our dessert. Cheese course for him, and honey nougat ice cream for me - which may be the best ice cream I've ever had. Overall, this was a great experience for authentic French food in a cozy setting.

We did not stop here to eat, so my review is of the location, great view from the terrasse, and drinks. After an afternoon spent at the Place des Vosges, we wanted a cafe where we could sit outside, and have coffee, wine, whatever, to kill time before dinner. This fit the bill. Absolutely wonderful view of the Place!! Our waiter was attentive, and we were intrigued enough by our experience to come back sometime and eat.
